That might be because those are the main sources of inspiration for it.

The two halves are now glued together and sanding has happened.
There is a slight gap at the join that will be filled when I get around to all the other gaps.
and while there is the tank to show scale, with all the other modifications it may be difficult to tell accurately. As SM #2 was helping me with the scale of my sinks, here he is showing the scale of the blade.

I will now repeat this process for the second blade and bring it up to the same level. Then I can do all the gap filling together and build the support structures together so that they are interchangeable.

Nice work Dr. H, but please tell me when you paint it that there WON'T be hazard stripes. Maybe instead since he wants to create destruction/anarchy/entropy he will have all sorts of writing or signs on it like STOP, HALT, free puppy (with the little pull off tags that you see on grocery store bulletin boards), or peep holes saying ladies shower room view in an attempt to get people in front not to run as it plows them over.

Also a general question. Why don't the blades funnel the people underneath the tracks or into a wood chipper or something. I do see that as more of a Khorne thing, but if we're trying to be brutal then I vote woodchipper

I think if not hazard stripes on the dozer blade then at least some eyes...like on the triremes of ancient Greece ...would underline the beastly character of the tank...

and the blade by the way looks very good, even with the lil gap, a stunning piece!

I wasn't planning any hazard stripes on the front of the dozer. There may or may not be some on the support structure.

In general (and in the rules I gather) the purpose of a dozer blade is to move things out of the way in a terrain sense. But if you're in a war situation and you have a dozer blade anyway, you may as well make it dangerous to your enemies.

While we're on the subject of funnelling in and chopping up, I did find some trains equipped with mechanical snow ploughs and have saved them for future reference.

The tank art that I was planning, was destined for the hull of the tank. This was going to be a picture of Tank Girl. However, I've changed my mind due to the death of H. R. Giger and I'm now going to do a tribute (of sorts) to him instead. This will still be on the hull of the tank (currently just in front of the guns).

The dozer blade, however...
Viktor von Domm wrote:I think if not hazard stripes on the dozer blade then at least some eyes...like on the triremes of ancient Greece ...would underline the beastly character of the tank...

...The plan was to have it plain and very shiny, using the buff-able Metalcote paint that I have (I've been trying to get hold of a lighter shade recently to no avail, yet).

However, depending on how it looks with the added details. I may paint something on it.

Not eyes though. As the headlights of the tank are there to represent the eyes (as they also function as the eyes of the driver). The dozer therefore, represents the "mouth" of the tank. So, if the added spikes/blades/details don't make it look mouth-like enough, I may well paint some teeth on.

Again. Will have to see how it turns out in the end to see what may happen.

and the blade by the way looks very good, even with the lil gap, a stunning piece!
Ta. The gap has been filled with a piece of scrap plastic, so is (hopefully) seamless now.

Second blade is about to have the ribs glued on to give it shape.

Dozer 2 is now glued together.
It's ended up at a slightly different angle than the first, but nothing that will be a problem.
You will see that where the first blade covers the whole front of the tank, this second blade doesn't quite cover the corners.

Once the edges are all cleaned up, I'll start on the support structure.

I'd have to make a far neater version if I was to sell it. There's quite a bit of work you don't see here to get the two halves to meet up neatly (and quite a few hidden rough edges). I would probably make one up to this stage and then cut it in half once it looks neat. I might consider it in the future if people want it.

Thanks Graven. There will be rivets. Once the frame is built I'll know where to put them (or the main ones at least) and the hull of the tank needs some rivets replaced (and added), so there will be a major riveting session at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Thanks LDD.
These are just the base dozer blade. The extra details will be added on top to match the two concepts (Carmageddon and Monkeyphony).

So the wider of the two will have the forward pointing blades/spikes and will have the two small trailing dozer blades to become the Carmageddon blade.

The pointier blade will get the saw-tooth lower edge that merges into a similar surface detail of the DE piece supplied by MT and may or may not get the trailing dozer blades (or something to match). How this will be done, I'm not sure at the moment...

Good good.

I have been busy with non-visually-exciting things (gap filling) and I've been doing more sink work (that will be shown in the other thread).

the current job is to build the support structure of the dozer blade.
So far I've added the main struts for the blades themselves. These are just cross beams and were quite a bit of work to get them to fit well and they also show just how imperfect the dozer structures are. Hopefully this won't show on the finished model.

However, the next job is to make the attachment points on the blades where the pistons and support structure are joined. In order to know where these should be on the dozer blades, I need to know where they come from on the tank. So, I've started making the brackets for the tank end...

I started by thinking about what attachment points I needed. Looking at the reference picture I showed a while ago, I can see 6 brackets on the tank: Two are for the main brace/structure, this is positioned straight (and mostly parallel) from the tank hull to the dozer blade and acts to transfer the force of the tank through the blade.
The other four points are for two pairs of pistons that move the dozer blade up and down. These are what I've started on.
I had a look through my box of "tubes" and found a few that fit together without being too tight a fit (or too loose). The thin tube for the larger pistons actually works as the larger part of the smaller pistons.

You can see how I plan to position them on the tank below. The main structure will fit at the bottom of the front of the tank, between the smaller pistons.

They do look too long at the moment. The final position of the dozer, relative to the tank, is not set yet. So I made them longer then necessary and will cut them down when I'm ready.

I was also going to attach the larger pistons higher up on the sides of the tank, but they would have blocked the view of the tank's eyes, so they were moved down a bit.

Now I can build the main structure...

Thanks OMN.
Well I ended up with two designs and wasn't sure which would work best. So I thought I may as well make both.

I'm aiming to make them swappable, at least as far as being able to see which is the best fit for the look of the tank.
Then the other one may find it's way on to a future tank that may suit it better.
