Maybe I will give him wings as well. That way the Juggernaut will look like it is stuck to the bottom of the DP.

Even if they let the Daemon Prince take a mount (which I'm sure it won't allow it somewhere in the dex), it appears that Daemon Princes can't take Marks. If they can't get marks, he can't get the mark of Nurgle for the toughness bonus. He'll just get Daemon of Nurgle which gives him shrouded and such.

Any idea if Havocs will be able to use Plasma Cannons and or Multi-Melta's?

ups... so max T9 (although I think you are right about DPs not being able to take a mount. I was just trying to be rediculous, because that is all the rules we know)

On topic: I'm still doubtful about the viability of zerkers. With the edition wide nerfs to assault and the fact they STILL lack a good way of getting stuck in, it makes me wonder if plague marines and noise marines will still be better.

I was actually hoping a rumor came true about the zerkers, instead of Plasma pistols they have the option to take 2 big eviserator like chain axes that are ap3.. but I havent heard a word about that since =\ It would make a lot of sense for a melee killy squad to take some melee killy options, not a plasma pistol! and plasma pistols are horribad.

It's not their ability to kill things that I'm concerned about, it is how you move them across the board.

Sure you could buy 3 land raiders, but then you're taking up your heavy slots, sinking something like 750 points into transports that will only be moving 30 guys.

I was really hoping for Dreadclaws to appear, but alas the GW gods are fickle.

So far I like what I see. My only real disappointment is the Battle Force.

I would not call it shooting themselves in the foot, but they defiantly dropped the ball in my opinion. The old one I could have bought 3 or 4 and then only tried to get rid of the possessed after the 1st two sets pretty easy. Now I have to get rid of the extra Possessed and Bikes so it looks like I will not be getting any Battle Forces and looking for the older sets. This might change if I can find some one who wants to do a biker list and wants to trade his normal CSMs, but then once more we end up with an abundance of Possessed.

I'm thankful they finally stopped shoving those Zerkers down our throats, they have been in every Chaos bundle for the past 14 years. Possessed can always be used for bitz. And bikes... why the heck are you getting rid of bikes?

I have never been big on bikes, my DA don't even use Ravenwing, just personal taste I guess. That might change with the new DA Codex.

Man, I have no clue what is going to be good in the Codex. Wait, check that.
I mean, I have no idea what is going to be awesome in this dex. It seems that everything is, well, good! I like that!
I wonder when we break down all of the points what will be awesome and what will be bad. We shall see.
I can only hope my Plague Marines don't take a big hit and that my favorite unit of all time (the Daemon Prince) doesn't get priced out of exsistance, which after doing a little math, might be.
A flying Tzeentch Prince at a humble mastery level 2 and power armor comes in at a whopping 280.
Thats base, plus wings, plus tzeentch plus level 1, plus level 2, plus power armor. Yikes. And thats not counting other availible wargear and boon of mutuation table... can be a pricey 4W model.

And seeing how they can be instant gibbed by S10 hits now, and not even Mark of Nurgle can prevent that, I don't see them being worth the point investment.

Mark of Nurgle makes them T6, so they won't be IDed by S10.

They can't get a mark though. Otoh hitting a FMC with your S10 might be a bit harder.

If I had to guess the price for the initial five includes the Champion and averages 19pts while the price per additional Berzerker is 15pts.

Either way the ability to make pseudo-cult marines should be helpful for building themed yet more practical lists for those playing World Eaters, Emperors Children, Death Guard, or Thousand sons.

Don't worry the helbrute is in the codex and available in the starter set. One day it'll get its own little plastic kit.

Don't even bother with Power Armor, get an extra mastery level so that you can roll twice on the Biomancy table and once on the Tzeentch table. Sling around a few StrD6+1 large blasts, then depending on your powers you can then have some nice Iron Arm action (and conveniently avoid instant death from non force weapons), or you can use Enfeeble on a unit of terminators and charge them. If you ever take wounds, you can use Life Leech.

If berserkers are 15pts as has been tossed around then let's compare the models:

Khorne Berserker - 15pts
Furious Charge, Mark of Khorne, Fearless

CSM - 17-17.5pts
Mark of Khorne (2), BP/CCW (free), Then you have to choose between the Icon for Furious Chage & Re-roll charge or fearless.

So the Khorne Berserkers are significantly cheaper as the 17.5 relies on 10 models. It goes up if you do a smaller squad and down if you do a bigger one.

I just don't see the Khorne Berserkers being worse than standard marines even at 16pts-17pts.
Agreed... Berzerkers are just a bit more specialized and that's the trade off. The reason for taking CSM with marks and icons is simply a matter of needing something that's similar to Berserkers but with more options and more generalized abilities.

bezerkers are elites, unless you take a lord with MoK, which has got to be one of the worst marks to give a lord.

You are correct in your summation in that Prince's can't get marks, and you need a mark to take a mount, thus they can't get a mount.

So to take an icon (other than Vengeance), does the whole squad need to have the corresponding mark? Or just the guy carrying the icon?

Ahriman infiltrating along with a unit of 18 Thousand Sons vs 20 marines in Aegis:

-Tzeentch's Firestorm (Aspiring Sorcerer)
-Some ap3 (Rubricae)

I'm all about these new powers. I think we're ok.

Oh it says "must" be dedicated? Sorry. Well, how about you just say the "mark" is some sort of tactical benefit? I've been doing that for years with Personal Icons. Little canopic jars that stuff 'deep strikes' out of ; )

My zerkers never really suffered so much from Fearless wounds, as they had good armor. But I can see why orks and nids are happy!

Why would you use Zerkers for base objective holding?

If I use them to clear the enemy home objective, as they are very good at, I need them to be able to sit there and survive for a turn or two until the game ends. But I meant mostly plague marines, who are exceelent for defense and could actually get a 2+ cover with defensive grenades, going to ground and cover...if it was allowed.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.
