I have more than a dozen Escher models up for auction, including many long out of production. Escher auction link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/zigra/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 The Pit Slave model arms are always great for doing bionics and cruel looking limb replacements on Chaos models. All companies discontinue some of their products over time and these games haven't been well supported in years. Frankly, I'm surprised they carried a lot of these products as long as they did.

What are you talking about? I am not asking $30 for a single model that is still in production. If you're talking about the Escher Plasma Cannon model that has been unavailable for YEARS and it generally fetches high dollars, often more than that. Listings for the Escher Plasma Cannon often go for between $30 and $40. That model is relatively rare and has been for a long, long time.

Next up, $19 for models still listed on the GW site...
Least wait till they're removed before you start charging those prices. Though its nice to know that the plasma cannon's worth that. I picked one up along with a gang for £6 a few days ago. =)

Again you have no idea what you are talking about. $19 for 4 models where you get to see which models you are getting ahead of time is a good price. GW is selling boosters of 3 models for $15 and you don't get to choose. $19 for 4 models is a better per model price than $15 for 3 models. And there's no sales tax on eBay auctions like there is at the GW website. Give up already dude, you've embarrassed yourself twice now as you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Right beneath your listing on Ebay there's sellers charging half of what you are or less for the same models... Sure they're all auctions, but still, I guess someone will probably pay it. =P

Back on topic, gents. There's a Dakka Swap Shop sub-forum for a reason.
I got my Inquisitor Eisenhorn model from ebay last week, and it's currently soaking in Simple Green. I picked it up before ebay prices took off like crazy, and it's the only model from that line I found interesting.
While I'm sorry to see the specialist games go, I honestly was never going to buy in. My gaming group barely has time for RPGs, 40k, and board games. Battle Fleet Gothic would never get played, sadly.

A lot of people use BFG minis to play the Rogue Trader rpg.

There... ARE rules for playing Dark Eldar Wyches if that's what you mean...
Actually, based on interior art, having enough wealth and power to buy and sell planets seems to bring with it smoking hot gun bunnies. *pauses a beat* I suppose that's the most realistic thing in it, actually...

Interesting price/inflation stuff for BFG...
Was looking for painting ideas so pulled out the first few US BFG White Dwarfs and noticed the prices. All of the ships except the battleships have doubled in price since then. The battleships have only gone from $33 up to $35. Pretty amazing for something made by GW to only go up by $2 in 15 years....

At GW Manchester, they sell Inquisitor and Warmaster. Granted only the rulebooks, but still shocking.
This is pretty much the nail in the coffin for me when it comes to hoping GW will be fun again.
No such thing anymore.
It's just sell sell sell and no one gives a crap about the games we were interested in when we started the hobby. Necromunda, Gorkamorka... all gone to a point.
Only upside is that those Reaper Miniature Delaques are cheaoer than anything on ebay.

Feel like pointing out real fast: The RT Cruiser on the GW Australia Website is out of stock, so while you can order it ATM it'll only delay your order until you cancel it or contact customer service or the like. No doubt a few other BFG things there are out of stock but not yet pulled, so if you don't see a change in order status over 1-2 days send an email and see if something's out of stock.
As HBMC said a lot of this stuff is used for BFG. It's a pity that the RT Cruiser is unavailable any longer, but since the escorts are (I think, at least as of the 15th they were seeing as I wasn't told they were holding the order back) still available, and you can transports, clippers, frigates, cruisers, raiders, and so-on for your ship, it's not like the loss is that crippling. Since I already have Monitor Ships and the Escorts heading my way I figure all I need now is 1-2 AdMech Light Cruisers (for looting / scenario purposes), a couple IoM / Chaos vessels to represent everything from a naval force to pirates to "Non-AdMech stuff to loot", and a few Ork vessels, then I'll be set for most of the basic campaigns.

So the availability message at the bottom does not mean anything?
"This product is expected to despatch within four weeks."
Was under the impression that they were casting stuff to fill current orders with four weeks being the casting and shipping time to get stuff to GW OZ. Is this not the case?
Thanks,
Tim

Been thinking about this. At first I was right with those who were disappointed and angry with GW for dropping specialist games. I have some nostalgia for them also, and would like to play them again sometime, but looking at it realistically...
1) None of my friend's have played specialist games for the better part of a decade, and I only have one aquaintiance who plays with any regularity.
2) The last time I bought a new "specialist games" item from GW it was necromunda stuff back when necro was a mainline product before "Specialist Games" was a thing.
3) The only place I've bought SG stuff in the past decade is used on bartertown.
I do realize that GW has made little or no attempt to support these games, and I am sorry they're gone. However the fact remains that -despite reportedly having a small but dedicated following- by most measurements they are dead games and dead games get retired.

The problem is that they are only dead because GW didn't like the idea of selling a game that you don't need to constantly buy models for. If they had tried to keep them they would probably be selling reasonably well (at least well enough not to get rid of them) but most of GWs customers these days don't even know they exist and GW want to keep it that way.
You're not wrong that dead games should be allowed to die, it's just that these were good games that GW killed.

They didnt NEED to be dead games though. In the gaming groups near me most of these games still have a strong following and i cant believe that GW could not arrange one last hurrah, maybe a brief supplemental magazine in WD or something rather than let them fade into oblivion. Its really sad. I mean WHQ sells for £150 to £200+ a copy on Ebay. Its like GW are scared of money.....
