In for something... not sure what yet.

That starter army vs set is a pretty good deal, that's for sure.

I *REALLY* hope there's an option to swap Valley orcs for Mountain orcs when they get funded. Got plenty of Mountain ones already.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Watch and listen to me ramble about these minis before ruining them with paint!

Appreciate the support!
Also, yes, there will be ;-)

The "Starter Army II" sets have a crazy good price-per-model!

Am I just missing the orc renders somewhere, or are the orc offerings just the existing orc infantry unit from the store? I see a lot of orc heroes but not what's in the box.

Orcs will be showing up later, the majority of the people asked for the Shieldmaidens first.

In for a Shieldmaiden army, will probably get the mammoth upgrade too ^^

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

In for the starter set. I guess I will sculpt some leather "hero harness" belts over the exposed midriffs.

That campaign army seems like a killer deal... Hell just GW charges almost that whole pledge amount for a single model... (Looking at you Archaon).

I wish there were Shieldmen we could mix in with the Shieldwomen too.

I wonder how they scale next to WGF or Gripping Beast Vikings...
Have we seen any size comparison pics for the resin minis? That would probably give us a good idea.

Not a bad idea Bob!

We'll see to it to snap a couple of pics with the resins next to others and post them in one of our updates, but that's not a priority right now.
There are other goodies we are working on besides the bears and some you might not even suspect ;-)

For the comparison pics we will do so before the end of the campaign however, preferably placing a couple of minis form other manufacturers too (not only ours!).

They're not really a match. Shieldwolf's resin Shieldmaidens from the last KS are height-scaled like GW models, though much finer in their proportions, so less heroic proportions. GBP, WGF, etc are "historical" height-scaled, so the Shieldmaidens look positively Amazonian by comparison. I don't have any GB or WGF off the sprues to do quality photo comparisons, though. (and I know I'll lose them if I clip them off!)

I've just written up my thoughts on the Mammoth kit from the first Shieldwolf kickstarter with a few pics:

Thanks for the link. The Mammooth looks great, and it's only $50 to add one on in the new KS.

I wonder if it's too late to advocate for the shieldmaidens to all have armor on their bellies...

I think that $50 is to add just the Howdah and crew to the Mammoth that's included in the $200 pledge. So the $200 pledge becomes $250 if you want the Mammoth to have a howdah on it.

I think that graphic needs a big UPGRADE ONLY - DOES NOT INCLUDE MAMMOTH on the top of it to help clarity.

More renders showing really skinny mid-sections - tis a shame.

Look at the 4 pictures under the "Examples of various miniatures assembled from this kit" - the first one looks fine - with human-like anatomy. The three beneath that have ridiculously narrow mid-sections that couldn't possibly contain things like organs, or bones.

This doesn't bother anyone else? They otherwise look great.

Are you sure? To me, the pictures look like there is a section to each side of the belly that is more heavily shadowed, but nothing ridiculous.

There's a somewhat exaggerated midsection there, but not as bad as it looks at a glance. Bob's correct - there's shadowed area there, so we're not talking Jessica Rabbit proportions by a long way.

The second one has black shadows on each side of her belly that obscure the cloak. Those are part of her midsection. The third has a shadow and a weird strap that looks like negative space. The fourth one has a belt that fades to black at the sides due to shadow and the armor's overhang.

Good morning everyone!

Coffee hasn't been made yet but the sun is shining and things look great! :-)

@Schmapdi
The "dolly" is the same for all 4, I can assure you. Also, the sculptor commissioned for all the Shieldmaiden plastics is the same that has sculpted the figure whose size comparison we have uploaded. That much we are allowed to reveal.
We haven't tooled ours yet (unfortunately we need the additional funds for that to happen, thus the KS-2) for me to show you a side-by-side picture, but rest assured they are the same size/structure and are not as "uber-skinny" as you immagine... :-)

Honestly we appreciate the interest and your following this, maybe by the end we'll entice you to come aboard! ;-)

50$ doesn't even meet production costs I'm afraid. This isn't some cheap chinese facility pouring them out by the thousands...

In the first kit, yes, it's too late. Same goes for the 2nd kit. 3rd kit... I wouldn't know *rolling eyes*!

Yeah, we'll probably be adding that to the graphic...

Well, bare midriffs aren't a deal breaker. I hope I can scrape up the funds for a howdah. Either way, the shield maidens look great.

I would much rather see something like these on each midriff:

More here:

http://battle-ready.com/home/category/belts-hero-harnesses

I can sculpt them on at a pinch, though, and will try to get a tutorial up on doing so once I get my hands on shipped minis, in... December.

... Of course I may leave one of them bare-midriffed, with a banner reading DEATH BY SNU SNU in runes...

A day late (KS didn't let me choose a pledge level on my phone), but I have my EB1!

I'm not a fan of the dragon and 80 maidens are a lot while it's just one kit, so I think I'll go with the starter set. Or drop down to 9$ and get some as add-ons. Or maybe we unlock a second plastic kit.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.
