Nah, just a fisherman using bait.

Bait that could veer the topic into "try to prove the Tyranids are not what I said in my first paragraph" or "whine about being 'persecuted' despite making an insulting comment", instead of keeping it on topic.

The problem is that without a class that lets our big beasties move 12" we're going to be hosed. There are simply to many bullets out there right now for 6" moving beasties that don't carry a 2+ AND some form of invul/cover save.

Toxicreme has Shroud.

I bolded and highlighted the important part of the statement regarding 6" a turn moving MC's designed for CC.

Basically you need them both. A 2+ is for the cover ignoring weapons since they rarely have a solid AP. Shroud/Invul is for the low AP weapons of which there are many but the most prominent being grav.

And let's be a real. A T6 MC doesn't stand a chance today without either a 2+ or 8 wounds with all the high shot count/high strength shooting in the game now.

Look at the good MC's. T8 w/6 Wounds. T6 w/4 Wounds 2+/5+ and can teleport for the cost of the Toxicrene. T6 w/5 Wounds 2+/5+(can be 3+) and a jet pack move. Yeah, our non FMC's totally stand up to this standard.

I agree that it sucks. If I were my opponent, why would I fear this dude? I'd be glad to see the Toxicreme instead of 160pts of something else. Outside of catching a Wraithknight in the hands of a bad player, it just doesn't bring anything to the table.

Unless we've been trolled. And there might be some missing info. I'm not holding my breath though.

Oh, I'm sure I'll pick them up at some point. But it's going to be when I can use store credit, trade somthing, or find a stupidly good deal on them. Since it'd pretty much just be to have them and not use them. At least outside of a highlander format.

If we can't get GW to make good rules, we can at least get more tournies to adopt highlander format! (No duplicate units)

Now that I know more about this format, I am all about it . It would make for some much more interesting tyranid builds than we see currently (or at least, more interesting builds that can actually be viable / have a chance to compete).

Clearly they saw how effective grav was against slow moving MC's so they cleverly gave it a 4+ making it better...

See, see!

lol

I love how both combined are still worse then one 85pt malenthrope

Probably a Murdervore or a Killofex. It's a special strain evolution from the Pteradactylthrope lineage and is basically a Shrike with tons of skulls on the base and wings. Of course, we know Shrikes are offshoots of the Tyranid Mockingbird.

I think they're referring to the Toxicrene:

Bryan Clark So, does that mean we will see any more tyranid releases as part of this campaign?

Lords of War Gaming Yes, the model will be in the campaign book and rules will be in the box sets as well.

Not in the least. It wasn't trolling. It was a statement of fact. At no point did I say they were a power army or terribly effective in a competitive setting, though they have one build that is. They are a fun army to use though in a normal setting.

People seem to lose sight of that as they fall all over themselves to disparage the list. Painting huge bugs is awesome.

Painted armies:

Orks: 11000 points
Marines: 9500 points
Khorne Marines: 2500 points

On the plus side, those pictures make them look like very cool models! The other pictures floating around hadn't convinced me, but these make them look pretty nice.
