OMG VOR! Man, you are always bringing up old ass models with a fond place in my heart. Looking forward to be the big hunk of pewter seeing paint at last.

Model for the monthly challenge. This month's topic is Wrecking Ball. This guy fits the bill to a tee. Razorfang from VOR. Quite a hunk of metal. Don't drop this guy on your foot.

Thanks for looking!

That's metal? You're going to give yourself carpal tunnel syndrome from handling it.

Now showing various models from the previously adandoned projects!

Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Nice work on Gwenom, that's one heck of a tongue!

I love the stormcast inquisitor. The van Saar head works great on him.

The van Saar 'ponytails' make for some great tentacles as well for other conversions. Not on this one. Inquisitors with tentacles tend get excommunicated really fast.

How have I not commented on this page!? Awesome work on the dreadnought, he really is a chunky fella! Excellent paint job on gwenom, the eyes and tongue are great, but the Spidey suit coming through on her arms is amazing. Intrigued on the Zoat colour, will they be purple like the archivist you did or some other colour? The inquisitor dude looks great, that red armour is very striking

Thank you all, very much!

This Zoat will be orange, gobert. WiP, including the BB Zoat (color undecided) and the next Mando.

Yeah, Razorfang is going to be quite a workout. So let's add some weight. Just a little.

Added some height to the front of the base. The profile was feeling a little low.

Thanks for looking!

Razorfang doesn't look like something I'd want to come face to face with, well, anywhere really! You said he's from VOR, what is that?

VOR was FASA's answer to 40K quite some time ago. Official title: VOR: The Maelstrom. It was a pretty cool setting where a malignant pocket universe would grab planets and suck them into orbit around a nasty singularity/sun/evil intelligence until they were eventually destroyed. Earth was one of these planets. The Growlers, of which Razorfang was an alpha chieftain, were the poster children of the setting. Described as a fusion between a Silverback gorilla and a t-rex, they were a fun bunch of models.

Thanks for the comment!

Thanks, Olthannon! That makes both of us.

Got RFang primed and sprayed with the base color. Moving forward after a small lull due to life and weather.

And I popped this into the Old Edition thread. Some old catalogs I have saved along with old White Dwarfs.

Lots of memories. Thanks for looking!

Two Wraithknights in a box. Parts all printed. Just the bases to go. Also been putting a little paint down. Plenty to do.

Thanks for looking!

Oooh, orange Zoat sounds cool! Razorfang looks seriously heavyweight, you’ll get a good work out painting him! The wraith knight bits look cool in orqnge, much crisper prints than my printer can manage

Thanks, gobert! Speaking of Razorfang...

A bit of progress. Slow month. Busy, sick, tired. But he is coming along. Also wrapped up another Mandalorian who is in the varnish/base stage. Always something to work on.

Thanks for looking!

Razorfang looks good so far. Which brown are you using for his skin?

I hope you feel better soon.

Good progress! And that Mark Gibbons picture on the catalogue is giving me major nostalgia

Thanks, you two!

The base color is a spray paint (Rustoleum) that is roughly close to Vallejo Hull Red. It's a little lighter, but it works well enough as a base and blends quite well after the wash, which is Drak Nightshade and Druuchi Violet with a splash of medium.

Thank you, fellows! Feeling a bit better. Got back to it.

Finished another Mando. This one is the Gar Saxon model, but since Gar Saxon was a chump, he is painted as a random sniper in a color scheme inspired by the first issue of War of the Bounty Hunters. Boba Fett, strapped for cash and looking to keep Han Solo from dying in Carbonite, paints his armor solid black and enters a gladiator competition under the name Jango. Silly, but fun.

The Mandos so far.

My daughter painted Fiesta Grogu. A 3D print given to her by a friend of mine.

And just so you don't think I have forgotten the monthly comp, a couple teasers of the mostly-finished Razorfang.

Way closer than you'd ever want to get. Went for something a little different. Hope you like it when all is said and done. Still need to varnish and base. Couple days to go. No problem. I think.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! He will be toned down by the end. Just a little.

All done. Razorfang, Alpha Chieftan of the Razorback Growlers. From the long-dead VOR: The Maelstrom. Another model that has waited far too long for paint. All hail the monthly challenge for keeping the paint flowing. This guy is a literal monster. Weighs in at just over two pounds.

The last thing his prey sees:

And a shot with some of his pals. Who were painted way too long ago.

And because 3D printers are the devil.

Samus Aran. Why not? I don't have enough going on.

Thanks for looking!

Say it isn't so! Keep the safety orange!

I'm still digesting the effect on the Razorfang, but it's impressively striking.

Wheeeeeeeew damn man, amazing job on the Razorfang, feels good to see the old chonk of metal in such a nice paint job I also did not realize how HUGE he is!

(Also that Samus looks really nice for a filament print!)

Wow congratulations with Razorfang. Exalted the hell out of that. Snowy base was a great touch, excellent contrast and really makes the reddish skin pop. The highlights on the muscles there are terrific.

Lovely stuff, you've been really productive!

I love the blue on that Mando's helmet, really stands out.
