I don't think I'll get my entry done at this rate. Wow that is some serious procrastination! I intended to do so this weekend but the final episodes of Life is Strange and Tales from the Borderlands were released and I have so many feels right now. Dammit games!

Loving what I've seen so far guys! Hopefully more can finish in time. As I said before, Cypher is done, so I am guaranteed of having something to submit, but I've kind of run out of inspiration on how to make black w/silver trim Chaos Chosen look interesting. I've given their plasma guns a red glow, and I think certain spot colors (like the eye lenses and some small bone details) can help break it up, but I feel like they will look somewhat plain.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Thank you Januine! I don't know what to say! (blushes) I'm looking forward to seeing your entry, especially the flayed skin cloak!

Yeah, guardsmen get all the rough luck. I think that they might be the hardest working, most abused, least appreciated lifeform in the galaxy! Thanks dude!

Hey, midget gems! have you thought about getting a very thin rod of Perspex (or a rod of something translucent and coloured) and then fitting a sheathe of another clear material around it - the protector tubes on paintbrushes may yield results?

SirD, that dio is brutal! Genuinely sinister!

As for lightsabers, they are basically impossible to paint as you see them in the films (white centre with the light coming outwards). I've found the best way to get close to that effect is to paint the blade a much lighter shade than you think it ought to be, then do some very simple OSL. Apologies for the otherwise rubbish paintwork, this was the only example I had in my gallery:
Spoiler:

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Given the fact I'm rather busy at the mo with an impending essay deadline, and I'm still waiting on the other Harley Quinn, I think I'm just going to have to enter the one I've already shown.

Hey guys sorry I've barely been participating here's what I've got:

I didn't snap one before starting but you can kind of make gauntfield out with the other undead in my old bones 2 unbox photos.

His sides are actually really boring and don't photograph well. If time and weather permit, I may end up taking a few more in the daylight and swapping them out.. but for now consider this my final entry. Hate to just knock something out and throw it in without participating much but that's all the painting I've gotten to do in the last week or two lol, let alone proper forum lurking.

Here we go then. If it even arrives before the end of the month there's no way I'm getting the other Harley done, so here we go with my final entry:

Probably my strongest entry for a few months, in my opinion, so I hope to at least put up a good showing in the vote! Going to be some very stiff competition, though!

I think your entry will do just fine, paradigm - you've done a beautiful job on both models! I like that envisagement of Harley Quinn too

Nice work from 'grimdork' and 'ruberu' (yarr!) too.

@llamahead; did those wings come with the model or is that a kitbash?
I remember painting some very much like those back in the ninety's on a wood elf giant eagle - made for some nice flashbacks; Ah, the good times.

@gitsplitta; you're on fire man! when will the flow of models end?!

OK, I need to call it finished at some point, so here we are. FINAL.

Chaplain Severus:
As Severus's armour has been damaged over the ages, he has taken each as a personal failing; rather than repairing his armour with the usual mechanicus prayers and rituals, he has patched it with trophies from his victims, a reminder for himself of his failings and for others as a warning.

Thats a fine looking Knight Chaostastic

congrats on getting a very nice piece finished Nevelon.

Thanks for the ideas Love Badger and Sir Donald, I looked up the Necron tubes, I think the ones for the warriors would be too small but possibly the rods for the monolith might work, I would need to get my hands on one to test and that isn't going to happen before the end of the month. Will look into perspex rods for future conversions

Thanks for the example Para, its interesting to see. OSL is on my list of different painting techniques to try, but I'm not feeling brave enough this month. I think I will have to go with a bottom to top dark to light blend and see if that works out better e.g. as if it was a power weapon. We shall see.

And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

Okay, I've given up on getting the Chosen done (too much else occupying my attention), so my final entry will just be Cypher. I'll post some final pics and some fluff for him (to show how he fits the theme) later.

Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
