No more weekly White Dwarfs. So now GW can't take blurry pics to "leak" out now.

It is still only a week between rounds of pics. Before we got blurry pics every Monday. Now we get good ones every Saturday.

Trying to catch up here, but the "unique" DW minis out so far are only from the big boxes?

I take it the terminators are just regular terminators with DW shoulderpads from the upgrade sprue?

The only guy not in the GW store is the mini with the Halberd.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks!

By unique minis do you mean characters? The multi-part "Deathwatch Veterans" are currently unique to the Death Masque set but rumoured to be going up for pre-order as an individual box tomorrow.

Kinda sorta.

I though I read earlier in the thread the some DW marines in the pictures, not the boxed sets, were just boxes of current marines with DW bits. Vanguard, Assault, etc...

I am now of two minds. On one hand, I want two more Veterans kits for the molded Chapter badges, the boltguns with special ammo feeds, and the overall cool of the kit. On the other hand, I have a Tactical Squad kit that could be turned into a Veteran Squad with the upgrade sprue and I could just get two AI Frag Cannons. Probably still going to get the Veterans kits. I may make multiple Frag squads as a result of this though.

I just find it hard to believe that Overkill will be the only source of the meltafist.

Just cut up a meltagun and glue it to a powerfist

To make a chainfist, I just cut up a chainsword and attached it to a power fist. Easy, peasy!

I agree with you. With their current mindset of rules=models, I just can't believe they don't have a plan for it outside of Overkill.

I get the feeling that the entire reason rules for the meltafist exist is because of the Overkill Salamander.

My plan is just to start with a chainfist and cut off the saw assembly and graft a combi-Melta top (like the ones in the Tactical Squad that are two parts) in its place. Shouldn't be too hard.

I find it hard to believe you don't comprehend that the melta first was probably included in the rules because of the fact it exists in the Overkill models.

Well, technically speaking there's also Alexis, the IF character from forgeworld. Perhaps you can google his powerfist bit? Cause it includes an underslug meltagun on the powerfist.

Your maths may vary, but the wait between first pics and release date is less than it used to be, and the wait between next set of pics is the same as before.

White Dwarf Weekly worked horribly with new releases. It was annoying to visit store on Saturday to see new WDW to showcase models you could buy... next Saturday. Or "pre-order" from website and get them next Saturday plus 3-5 business days. And all this was several days after we had seen leaked pictures.

I'd rather have high quality pictures to begin with and wait less to get my hands on new toys. It is definitely better than potato pictures and wait longer.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

That's a Combi-Melta Fist though.

Yeah, that is right, you read correctly. The terminators, vanguard veterans, bikes, dreadnought, etc are all the normal kits with a deathwatch sprue thrown in (mostly for shoulder pads). The "Deathwatch veterans" are a new kit

Here I am trying to think of names for my BFG IN fleet, and then GW goes and drops that badass ship name.

The more I see of the Corvus, the better it looks. Its all the best elements of a Valkyrie mixed with the appropriate marine chunky aesthetic. I'll take two. Maybe three.

Annnnnd I asked them about the Shotgun/Bolters again. Here's hoping we get a reply.

Mostly I'm being called "that guy", but I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

That is exactly what I was planning on doing! Good to know that is works smoothly. I can't wait to get around to making up a couple of those.

What's the 'real' meltafist look like in comparison?

That one there looks like it would be hard to use as a 'fist'...
