Subject: Dakka (Unofficial) Painting Challenge Round 24 February 2017: We Have The Technology
@Boundless - nice looking big mek there man! looking forward to seeing that painted
Guildenstern wrote:@ZoBo - I have been so tempted by Infinity, cuz it just looks so freakin cool! Can't wait to see these that's some awesome models there
Modock wrote:I gonna dive into Infinity very soon. I can't wait to see how you will takle those remotes.
There's so many great-looking models in the Infinity line...I can't really think of one I don't like actually...but they're definitely more of a challenge to paint than most GW models - the average infinity infantry-type model makes even dark eldar models look basic and chunky in comparison! ...the game sounds fun too from what I remember...smaller kill-team style forces, with a big focus on terrain, and a lot of strategy...looking forward to getting my little nomads force painted so I can try some games
not too sure of colour schemes for the other models I have, but for these remotes, I'm taking this unique opportunity to really use some colour for a change ...so far I'm going with a super-bright orange and blue colour scheme, probably with grey mechanical parts...I've made a bit of a start today - still loads to do, obviously, but here's where I'm going (man, my camera is struggling with the intensity of these colours )
...it's good to be green!

Great choice of colors! Minis are gonna pop out more cause of that color scheme which is a good thing being small and all.

Ok officially entering here. The Haemonculus Covens may have the technology but something tells me it's probably safer if they didn't. This month I'll be doing a Cronos Parasite Engine.

Wow some great proof entries already, impressive you have finished already Nev, the lens looks good on the hand held thingy
Looking forward to seeing your entries finished and painted boundless08 and Guildenstern
Well I totally misread this challenges title when it was voted for, I thought it was "We have their technology" opps, oh well I think my idea still works for "the technology"
I'll be doing a smaller entry this month to allow me to do other things at home and because there's less days in Feb.
A Snotling Plasma Cannon proof, I will be changing the PC for a bigger one but its not arrived yet.
Basic bodies roughed out, time for clean up and then to start expanding detail.
My $0.02, which since 1992 has rounded to nothing. Take with salt.
Elysian Drop Troops, Dark Angels, 30K
Mercenaries, Retribution
Ten Thunders, Neverborn

Been a while since I last joined one of these, so here it goes:
PROOF:
Spoiler:
Glorious Russian Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Only best technology for defence of motherland, yes?
Only I'm going to paint it in Serbian colors for a WWIII thing I wrote one day in class. It entered service in the late 80s tho, which makes it about as technologically advanced as it gets right now until the new generation Armored Fighting Vehicles are produced in enough quantities.

Hi all,
never entered a painting competition before, so this is an exciting oppurtunity to improve my painting skills.
I'll enter an unassembled rapier laser destroyer.
Cheers
RIP Colour Sgt Kell. Forever in our hearts.
Click below for plenty guardsmen
Dark Angels/Deathwing - just getting started!
Space Marines - Stark Crusaders 4500pts/PL244 (2700pts painted)
Eldar - Biel Tan 2000pts
Space Wolves 1500pts
Some very cool entries here, love that stack of plasticard, haha.
Similar to ZoBo, I'm also going to (hopefully) do a model from the Infinity Nomad range. Mine is a Lizard TAG. I'll be really happy to get this one done, as it has been on my shelf for ten months!

Nice looking proofs and WIPs so far everyone can't wait to see what everyone paints up! Still undecided on what to enter myself. Maybe actually get the fire under my ass to build and finish up these grey knight termies -> obliterators conversions as I feel that that could possibly fit the catergory, otherwise I just don't know what to enter as nurgle tends to not need "advanced" technology to function, just more Flies and Disease, so I don't think my mostly scratch built rhino would work unless I work out some nifty mechanic for locomotion(as it is currently treadless). Maybe I'll throw down a warp smith after I strip my old conversion and figure out some nifty revamped conversion for him as the leader for a cult of destruction leading those nurgle knight obliterators! Seems like I have too many options I just don't feel any truly fit the theme that well! Hmmm...

I also love the delicious extra-heresy of daemonized grey knights
Extra heresy is what we specialize in here at Plagues 'R Us! Okay...guess the fire has been lit under my ass to get at least 2 of em converted and painted up by the end of the month! If I can scrounge up enough bits I'll probably end up doing 6, but I doubt I have that many lascannons, plasmas, Flamers, AND meltas laying around, but we'll see! Guess I'll get a proof thrown up tomorrow morning!

While excavating upon Holy Terra deep below the hives of what once was called Merica in the middle of that continent between the large lakes a discovery was found. The ruins of a place called Lambeau Field. This was one of the original Blood Bowl Arena's, it is so very old that it was before weapons were allowed to be carried by the teams. In honour of that discovery a new team has been sponsored to do battle in the colors of the old team. using the very best of new technology... (I spent 30 mins trying to get the camera to focus on the blood bowl guys. You all know what they look like, mine are primed black. Ill use a different camera to take the pictures when finished.)

Having been inspired by Nevelon's regular entries as showcased in his ongoing thread, I thought I'd join in and see if I can't make a dent in the huge pile of unpainted models I've accrued (seems like I'm not the only one with that problem). Hopefully a quartet of heresy era bikes with twin linked plasma guns, and each rider in a different mark of armour fit the theme well enough.

Welcome to Dakka and the challenge!
Glad my semi-random musings are inspiring people and doing some good. Nice looking bikes.
Okay! Here we go. Second painting challenge, I'm all up in you!
Proof:
These here old metal grey knight termies will make for some fine nurgle obliterators! As ZoBo said, the literally have the technology growing out of them!

My ancient "lab"
Aah! Ok, i just started working on this guy this morning. If it's all good, i'd like to enter him. Only the silver and first coat of his cloak are down. Also, if I finish early enough, i may add 1 or 2 of my other remaining dw soldiers.
did a bit more work on mine, got the blue and orange done for now (aside from a little spot of blue I got on the orange, grr.)...next will be all the grey parts, and then detail bits (ironically, the glossiness of them is caused entirely by the Army Painter "Anti-Shine" matt varnish, which I used to mix glazes )
Spoiler:
...kinda dreading working on all the mechanical detail on the underside/legs!
...and I wouldn't exactly call these "large" models either!

I've been lurking these threads for a while now, but it's the first time I've been early enough in the month for me to enter with something appropriate that I can comfortably finish in the timespan. Besides, what's more appropriate for "We Have The Technology" than a piece of walking technology? I present to you all Victor Stone, Cyborg from Knight Models Batman line.
Looks like some really interesting entries this month. I'm particularly looking forward to the Guildenstern's battle wagon and Drummernathan's obliterators.
Well done Nevelon and Gummyofallbears for finishing so early!
I think I know what MidgetGems will be aiming for this month and it will be awesome... again.
Here is a few WIP shots of my classic battlewagon. I'm just waiting for a few more bits and pieces to arrive to start painting it. Any suggestions or tips from the pro converter/kitbashers out there would be welcome =)

WIP pic of my grey knight obliterators! Had to pop on a few extra bits that weren't in my proof pic to retain as much wysiwyg as possible, hope that's okay. Gotta do a teency bit more GS work before I can prime these bad boys and get to painting them!
