Seems very likely to be multi-build. Compare the front and back. The 'normal' one on the front has a spear, not the axe that's mentioned on back.

Well I think this confirms it then. GW is moving into a no xenos 40k future. They want 30k money. So they are making 40k as much like 30k as possible. The xenos are all going to just be background mentions from here on out who all get nothing. Eventually the xenos lines will languish and be forgotten for an endless tide of space marine releases.

I said this last year and was called crazy. I hoped otherwise this year would change things and they needed to start 2018 with a big cool hopeful message for xenos players, but ultimately it looks like GW is moving in a different direction.

People will probably call me crazy again, but as the years go by and xenos never get any releases you'll see.

That or this is an epic troll.

what if they move the story forward to allow Custodes to travel the stars and fight was done on purpose with the intention of making the emperor less guarded, so that in the future GW could kill him off an move the story forward even further?

I did say they would sell. People have been interested in Custodes for a while, and wanted to see them on the tabletop outside of 30k. For me, though, they're just yet another power armour faction to add to the pile.

I'm a bit disappointed, but still, they are wonderful and way better than the standard custodes

Hopefully an unrelated leak, otherwise the FB comments on tomorrow's announcement are gonna be even worse than those from the people who were expecting the Malign Portents countdown to be leading up to a model announcement instead of the opening of the page they'll be using to post those announcements later (still scratching my head over that one, GW).

This reminds me, was the reason for Cypher trying to get to Terra revealed? Maybe the "huge" news involves a follow up campaign to Gathering Storm, and that's why the Custodes are coming out to play.

But knowing GW, the Custodes models are what's huge.

I don't know why Games Workshop doesn't just go AoS mode on 40k and shift it back into a plastic fuelled 30k, since it's apparent they desperately want the game to be nothing but Imperial armies killing one another on the tabletop.

We've known for some time a named custodes character was coming soon. that the custodes are getting a full release should hardly shock anyone. people have been predicting it since october.

It's just super duper Marines. To tag along with the super marines they released a few months ago. Is this how AoS players feel when more Stormcast are announced?

My only hope is that they're part of an Imperial Agents codex and theres also going to be some plastic Sisters released as well.

Keeping my fingers crossed that they will port over some of the FW Custodes goodies with 40k rules. I have a Spear Dread, Telamon Dread, and a grav tank all sitting around waiting. Those 40 Custodes I all ready have are chomping at the bit to see the tabletop as a stand alone force.

It's the timing more than anything else. I'm fatigued on the number of Imperial and Space Marine releases. We have 2/3 Triumvirates at the start of 2017, then the Primaris, and now yet ANOTHER full-blown Imperial army to add to the soup. That's not including the Death Guard, who were yet more power armour.

I don't think anybody is surprised that Custodes would get fleshed out eventually, or at least have rules for the HH units ported over to 40k. It's just that before most Xenos armies even have their codexes, here's ANOTHER Imperial army.

Hmm wonder if they get rules for 30k. Don't look they could work as aquillon terminators by weapons nor hetaeron squad(which aren't terminator armoured) so would need to be new unit all together

Same reason 30K Custodes can't take standard Contemptors or Land Raiders for [reasons].

If it is just custodes, what else will we see? A hq 1 troops and 1 assumingly elites does not an army make!

Well. GW won't get penny from me if FW doesn't give 30k rules for them. I don't buy single model I can't actually USE. Here's hoping. Looks nice models so would be nice to get squad(or two).

Wish GW and FW co-ordinates bit more. Hetaeron's are supposed to be inner circle who were the ones always at his side. What's these? Some new group within them? Blah. Would need to be pretty darn good to be even better bodyguard seeing every Hetaeron is like marine captain+.
