They got their release, the only release they've ever had. What more were you expecting exactly?
If they can turn "fat stinky Marines" into a range the size of the Death Guard, they can do the same with "dusty golem Marines". I'm not sure they should do either tbh, there are a lot of other things I'd prefer GW be focusing on than giving all the minifactions of Chaos Marines the same level of excessive releases that all the minifactions of Goody Marines get - that's how we get Thunderwolves, people - but, they've set the standard now and I don't think it's unfair for players of other Chaos minifactions to be disappointed if theirs don't get the same treatment.
That, or god forbid, they had more fun making the Nurgle Marines and thus churned more out.
All of the different Nurglings show that.

3-4 more kits.
i dont get paid to dream up what a t-sons army should look like. GW does and they didn't care to create more than a bare-bones thousand sons army.
i cant even find a decent T-Sons/tzeentch painting scheme for my Helbrutes and Maulerfiends.

How did people survived when we had 2 Codex's a year?
They took comfort in knowing that codex releases mattered, and they'd get a bunch of new kits for their army alongside it.
So waiting years and years for the possibility of a Codex Release with some new kits is better than putting out there codex's as fast as possible so everybody can play in the same field, with the future possibility of new kits from supplements, campaings, etc...?
Thanks, but I prefer how it is now.

Yep, another nerf to Thousand Sons with that stupid Smite reduction. Psyker heavy army.... punished for using a reliable psyker ability. And no real good ones to replace it yet.

I was somewhat hoping for a librarian dread for the T-sons so that I could run my Osiron as something more than just a regular contemptor but I wasn't expecting it.
And that said I like the current state of the T-sons. They've got the dust-boys, the cabal terminators, and the sorcerers just barely holding it together.
The only thing that I'll be really put out to not see is a sorcerer lord in Terminator Armor. I hate having to take the regular datasheet for a sorcerer lord with mark of Tzeentch as then I have to keep reminding myself and my opponent that he doesn't do half the things the rest of the army does.

"It was more fun so we just did loads of that" is fine for a hobbyist, but GW purports to be a company selling a product and employment at their studio purports to be a job, meaning the former should be aiming to manage their people so that the totality of their range receives adequate support not just the bits the sculptors "find their muse" for, and the studio guys should be prepared on occasion to knuckle the hell down and work on something that they might not be super inspired by but needs to be done.

You say that Yodhri. And thats how it should be and I'm sure it is how it works. But not as a whole.
Crazyterran has a good point, in that many GW products are sculptors doing what they want. If they feel motivated, they will make more kits, better ones, and more expansive ranges.
In FW they have more freedom to do that, but in GW many times they do it too.

Sounds like Games Workshop have a greater issue in lack of diversity of interest in their own product line. If that's true, then it would be an issue that GW should be trying to solve.

Any hints on how the custodes replenished their numbers post-heresy? The events in Master of Mankind alone weren't kind to them and I can't see them walking out of the siege of terra unscathed, either. They're supposed to each be one of a kind creations.
Also interesting they did anything but give guilliman a guardian spear through the face considering their views on primarchs in general. Their mood didn't seem much improved in Dark Imperium.
Possibly covered in Watchers of the Throne? Haven't checked that one out.
Model-wise I think the release is brilliant. Let's see the rules.

8th ed fluff says they can make more of them so they replenished by making more of them.

Yeah well the "order 666" hasn't yet been issued so they have to be at least not hostile against Emperor's tools.

I'm thinking of what I need to round out my Custodes force.
I currently have:
FW Tribune guy
FW Telemon Dreadnought
FW Spear Dread
Contemptor with Assault cannon
3 3rd-party Terminators (weaponless at the moment)
40 Custodes with mix of Sheild&sword, Spear, and Vexillia
2 landraiders
FW Caladius grav tank
I'm thinking at least a unit of Jetbikes, 3 more terminators, another HQ or 3, and an upgrade sprue (if they make one). Dang, and I wanted to cut my hobby budget.

I feel like one of the few who were excited about this release. GW said this was in the making for the past 2-3 years, so I hope FW had an idea this was going to be released. This release allows me to fill up my custodes army for HH while being able to field it for 40k. GW has a win for me on this, though I can see how others might want some Dark Eldar love, or Tau. But, I imagine...sooner rather than later for them.
