Nice work - now to do it in other currencies, too!

Thanks, it was interesting to know. Although as I'm not that enthused by the Barbed Venomgorse in my Deathwatch starter it does not feel like a discount.

Looks a bit crappy imo, seems hard to fit into a themed tabletop and even standalone not great. I suspect it's a tactical inclusion (this ain't gonna sell, lets put it in with the super strong super sinister marine kit).

If you want different currencies you are welcome to copy the sheet and plug in the appropriate numbers

As for the Kill Zone boxes in USD: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18cHDYIQNqTb3_fCjyWfhUViNbDMWYJTeGiDspLRyCVA/edit?usp=sharing

The Wall of Martyrs is a significantly worse deal, but that appears to be a matter of space: the Defence Line and Emplacement sprues are so tall they could only get 4 frames into the box versus the 6-8 the others come with - but "worse" in this case is still a 23% discount.

Everything else is in the 43 (or 39%, see below) to 53% range, with the Sector Mechanicum being the best

Note on the Death World Forest: the Grapple Weeds are only available in the Deathworld Forest box and the Kill Zone, so I assigned an arbitrary SRP of $25 for them. Realistically, since (near as I can tell) the Kill Zone has the exact same contents as the Deathworld Forest box, the savings are better calculated on the $130 price for that box rather than the (estimated) a la cart prices summed together.

The Sector Mechanicus Killzone doesn't come with two boxes of Plasma Conduits. It has one, which contains two sets of the sprues. There'd be a hell of a lot more pipes in this picture if it came with two full boxes.

Agreed, although I think it's more of "this isn't selling and we have N units in stock". Still now that I do own them, I'm planning an experiment. While I think the GW color scheme for the Venomgorse is too cartoony, I was thinking a matte black trunk with dark blue foliage highlighted with luminescent blue and either neon green or medium purple "veins" (on the trunk) might work. Trying for nightmarish colors. Hoping it will work as my Kings of War: Vanguard KS is supposed to deliver soon and one of the warbands is the Nightstalkers, who are black, purple and blue (usually).

re: Sector Munitorium: This KZ interests me. Sometime ago I backed a modular terrain KS. That would provide gantries to place cargo on and so the Sector Munitorium would have some height which it currently lacks.

No problem.

The saving is still pretty damned cool. I'm almost thinking about getting two of them...

The Deathworld Forest stuff does look much better painted in a more natural scheme, and intermingled with some other stuff. Basing it and mixing in some other pieces really improves it.

There's someone online with a Jurassic Park themed table and converted Catachans Guard army/Genestealer Cult where he's used the Deathworld Forest stuff in a lot of the terrain and made it look really good.

I have to admit the Death World stuff has grown on me (no pun intended). I really didn't like it when I was first shown off, but I'm seeing the potential.

Same here. A little bit of LoS blocking stuff added and it's quite good. It's also one of the more full kill zones - a second barbed venomgorse (from the DW box) and a few containers or similar and you've got a pretty full, almost cramped feeling table. Just waiting on some resin ventilation pieces so that I can finish my modular outpost thing.

I'm feeling very ambivalent about the martyrs zone. I've got both team boxes coming as well so I'll have plenty of trenches but it's just not enough. I have a full set of the martyrs terrain painted up for one of my 40K tables so I can play around to see what else it needs.

I've still got a ton of Cities of Death stuff unbuilt, and I'm thinking of combining it with the Death World stuff and a smattering of these things to make the ruins look overrun.

I agree that there isn't a great deal of stuff in that set. It's why when I was first released I went out of my way to get two defensive line sets.

Overgrown ruins in the forest would be awesome. That was the other option I was considering (possibly one big octagonal ruin, using the new ruins, covered in ivy).

Six trench pieces gives you two trench lines that fit the board perfectly (with the end pieces on). It's what to do about LoS blocking that I can't quite decide. And the injection points on the frames gouged my board...

Well then, the text description on the store page is wrong Sheet updated!

We have three more pairs of Starter Sets to go, but I doubt that we have three more Kill Zones worth of terrain to go with. As has been speculated, Moon Bases Klaus is a possibility, but after that it wouldn't surprise me if we get a pair with a different mix of Sector Mechanicus sprues and then finish out with some Sector Imperialis (my wish would be for a Start Set with the big statues otherwise only ion the $100 terrain set).

Tau terrain was mentioned as a possibility, and that is relatively recent. There's also some new Ork terrain coming out this month.

If you wanted to play a Rogue Trader-esque, or Imperial Household style force, there isn't rules for that, is there? It's just the specific Elucidian Starstriders that come in the core box, right?

Just wondering, as it would be cool to be able to make our own Houses or Rogue Trader groups.

Correct - like most things in Kill Team its very restrictive in what you can do. Hopefully they might do a full Codex for 40k and then might have some actual RT options for KT.

Sadly that's the case right now yes, zero customisation or options (aside from pumping more points into your commander), just play as is from the box.

Ahhh, disappointing. I guess the only kind of option to do that in a small scale skirmish 40k game is to play Inquisitor 28mm then.

A shame, as I can imagine giving people the ability to make up their own Households from a list of available units would allow people to go crazy with some amazing conversions. I am thinking specifically of the wonderful navigator Household which can be found here on DakkaDakka.

The tempestor prime on the cover of the commanders expansion box is a cool piece of art but shame they've botched the bolt pistol in his hand so badly. Too big, grip in the wrong place, generally needed drawing again.

I really dislike the idea and implementation of commanders. I don't think the concept really fits what KT is allegedly aiming to do. Why does GW insist on telling players what to do, instead of giving them a framework to play their way? Pre-built, named characters just make the game more bland. But hey, at least it's a narrative game with deep squad customi..... oh.

The only "prebuilt named characters" are the ones that come in the individual boxes. There's 41 choices in the book for you to work from.

Currently they have all been existing models.

I think any expectation that they would be anything but reboxes would be unrealistic...with the exception of the RT box, everything has been existing sculpts and terrain...and yeah, while the Kill Team Sector Imperialis terrain was new, it was a teaser for the new, larger sold separately terrain boxes for 40K

As long as they've got rules in the expansion for letting me try to pigeon hole more exotic characters into a commander role, I'll be happy.

I want an excuse to field my Visarch! Or my chaplains! Or an Ogryn!

Guess I'll see what kinds of flavors are going to be available come release...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
