Final pics of my Imperial Knight.

It turns out that painting an entire Knight in a month is a bit of an undertaking. Not as much as DV8's crowd of dreadnoughts, but still a lot to do inbetween work and entertaining a six-year-old during the summer holidays. As usual for me, I cleverly decided to use a load of techniques and materials I wasn't very familiar with, in this case my airbrush (which I have a love-hate relationship with at the best of times) and GW's new range of clear paints. I think they're old Forgeworld paints that have been rebadged or something. Stuff like Angron Red and Mortarian Green. They're amazing. I bought the entire range, plus all the metallics. I think it cost as much as the knight itself. I better use them up painting an army of Knights or something. I do have two of those little ones, plus another full-sized one from the Renegade box....

Gosh darn, that's spectacular! Weirdly I think the base is the best bit though, compliments the model and sells a narrative beautifully.

Happens to all of us at some point, I'm happy to let it slide if you still want to enter it.

Yeah, you've certainly built up enough goodwill for you to enter without a proof pic, Vejut. Exactly the same thing happened to me a while ago, when I took a proof pic, I remember doing it and looking at it on my phone, and when i came to post it it wasn't there, for some reason.

And cheers, Para. The base was the most fun bit to do. It felt like the pressure was off and I could just experiment a bit. I nearly bought one of those pre-made sculpted bases, but I'm glad I didn't.

Managed the stairs for some looking pictures.

Fun models to paint, just enough with the Warhammer Underworlds warband to make them interesting, but not enough to drag me into AOS....though the Sylvaneth I’m painting now have me itching to go buy a start collecting set....today .

Bounding Dark Angels Assault Marine

I could not replicate the paint job so went with my own twist on a winter paint job.

The basilisk served honorably upon the Desert world of Lankshire 4 in a glorious campaign against the Orkish warchief Gliknok, during the final battle the Chief and his boyz pushed hard. The "Guardrail of Hilltop's Grace" was out of ammo having delivered all of its sacred shells into the green horde choose to advance and charged Gliknok it blew itself up to slay him. Only the hull and spirit was sound after the battle. It was transfered to the ice world of Barica 2 where it has fought alongsidethe wyvern "Hilltop's Hammer" after receiving replacement parts from the "rain of glory". both units were instrumental in clearing the way for the 5th Company of Leonis Imperator, a Chapter of the Dark Angels to be able to unload all of their plasma into the Tyranids pushing back the advance.

As always, there are so many great entries!

I had a heap of trouble trying to photograph mine as it is larger than I am used to! The base is actually an mdf box from the hardware store and the soldiers are 15mm ones I got years ago - I can't even remember where I got them. The tanks are models I also got online just for this project - as I got most of the way through painting the mech, I suddenly realised I had no idea what I was going to do to base it! The angle isn't great but he is meant to have cut the second tank in half.
Anyhow, here is my Gundam...

Just made it...time for bed!

Wow. Amazing work.

Final Pics:

Painting Marine tanks is a chore. I like them on the table, I like combined arms armies with tanks and infantry supporting each other. I just hate painting them. They are just so big and tedious. And the large flat surfaces are not good with my paint scheme, which utilizes a blue glaze. Anyway, not 100% happy with this guy, but he’s off the pile of shame and onto the year-to-date shelf. Next stop, the battlefield!

I should have entered him next month. It’s going to be a target-rich enviornment. See you all in Up, Up, and Away!

Thanks Paradigm, I just feel like I keep doing this. (also kinda annoyed with myself in general, sorry for letting it blow out here)
Plenty of targets either way Nevelon.
Chris56, Nice diorama effect, and pose-able too! I like it!

So, closest I got to a proof pic is this one from the 23rd, already got metallics on it though:

Finished pics:

Being honest, probably the worst model I've submitted to this challenge in at least two years, and attempts to work it better by shading the wheels just kinda made it look messy. I did shade and edge the gilding on the sides, but not really showing up. On the other hand, the wheels look even more hideous in real life, so I guess it all works out.

Managed to get the photos done when the kids had their nap.

Here my final pics, very much table top standard from me and a few bits I've missed again. Seems I've been saying that several time sover the last few challenges. Think next month I'm going to push myself and do something bigger and exciting.

Wow, awesome stuff this month, as usual! Chris56- great diorama. And holy cow, that knight is awesome.
Super cool stuff.
I scrambled and got my nob done, a bit down to the wire. But he's done. He's got tracks instead of wheels, but I think it fits. Now I've got to finish the rest of his kill team.

They are fantastic, the game is really good too only real downside is the core game box comes with pvc models, everything else is really high quality resin though.

We built and built and finally built.
Awfully long unfinished building that I built for ages (two weeks)
My first morkonaft.
It remains only to paint.
I'll do it tomorrow.

Sorry, I did not have time to challenge.
I was too busy at work.
Somehow I'll take part next time

Finally got my pics together, had a lot of fun painting this one as I don't often do weathering at all on my minis, so going super heavy weathering was really really fun and I hope everyone likes it! Great entries all around, really love everything I've seen so far, well done to everybody who managed to get it finished this month!!
