Still a lot left to do here, let's see how this colour scheme works out in the end ... I'll be going for reddish highlights on the armour, bit of a throwback to the blue/red/purple Rogue Trader era renegades ...

Its likely a quarantine will be ij place so providing its not faction specific, I should be able to participate.

It's time to get back into this wonderful competition again, here's my Chaos Space Marine proof. Haven't got much 40K / Space Marine stuff, so I mixed up a Blood Warrior with the only CSM stuff I have (two arms and a head) with two "flying" Sigmar legs. I have some filling and sanding to do, but I'm looking for some advice on other stuff, any help is welcome!
(I know some things are a matter of taste and it's about what I personally want to see, but I'm not that experienced......)
1. Paint scheme will be like a ghost, as if he's floating in the air. Should I add a CSM backpack?
2. How about adding small "smoke flames" on a couple of spots with my glue gun, would that add to the effect of a floating ghost?
3. Do the legs need something Khorne/Chaos-ish? Not sure if they're too clean now.....
4. Paint scheme will be ghostly green overall, but glowing red eyes. How about adding a same glow to the tip of the gun and axe?

Cool idea, that should look interesting! But yeah, I'd add a CSM backpack as this is very much part of the Space Marine silhouette, even more so for chaos ... about the smoke flames, could you describe a bit more what you have in mind?

What about a raptor jump pack?
Then he really will be an angel of death
Here's my WIP, I am trying to keep them the same
as the first five I did last year but it proving difficult because I cant remember the colours used so was trial and error

Tim - I vote jump pack as well. I did a slime base with hot glue a while back and it didn't take paint well at all so not sure that would be the best option for ghostly effects. Fishing line and varnish works really well for drool and stuff so maybe you could make that work? If you get that going you could use it to add some firing energy effect to the barrel of the gun and absolutely paint that the same as the glowing eyes.
The legs are a bit clean so as a minimum I would carve some gouges in and maybe drill some bullet holes to make them look more ragged.
Really ambitious project you have there so I look forward to seeing the end results.
Here's some progress from me, I have finished the skin on the two models without helmets (I assembled all the models to match their unit cards from the boardgame and they have bare heads there). Also finished the yellow on the fist.
As always feedback is very much welcome and appreciated.

Smoke flames, like in these pics:
Should've called them ghost flames, I guess.....
Rybrook wrote:What about a raptor jump pack?

Oh, I like that idea. Unfortunately, I don't have a Raptor jump pack. I've got a regular CSM backpack and a SM jump pack. Maybe I can Chaosify that. Good suggestions guys, thanks!

I'm not familiar with the fishing line + varnish technique, I'll look into that.
Thanks for your feedback, Jamie!

Ah yes, I guessed you'd mean those but wasn't sure, and yes, this could surely look good! Anyway, maybe using green stuff would be easier in this case than glue? The way they look on the Nighthaunt minis, the flames & smoke are pretty solid (haha) anyway and the detail is not so intricate. If you have some green stuff at hand, that is :|

Here's a WIP shot of Guilliman. I spent so long painting all that gold trim that for a whole night if I closed my eyes I saw blue with gold lines.
I should finish this as I am having to self-isolate. It's not the best situation, because I am in the high-risk group, and I do actually seem to have Covid-19 judging by my symptoms and the fact that my wife and kid have also gone down with the classic Covid-19 symptoms. So far they both seem to have very mild cases, Mine is a bit more severe, but so far not really anything to worry about. I'm not close to having to go to hospital or anything yet, and I doubt it will come to that. It's worse in the evenings. Most of today I felt quite a bit better, but this evening the coughing has got pretty bad. I wouldn't say I have genuine breathing difficulties though. My health situation is not that I would have more chance of catching it, but more difficulty fighting it off. That's the worrying thing, but if I analyse it rationally I haven't had a trajectory of my symptoms getting worse and worse, and I reckon I'm generally getting better now. It might not even be Covid-19! It could be just a generic virus. Work have told me to stay at home "for the foreseeable future" with full pay (unless we go out of business) which is pretty mind-boggling. Anyway, I thought I should update you guys.

MobleSuitRandom - very interested to see how that armour turns out.

Bit more progress on my guy.
Not sure the washes made much difference in smoothing out the mess I made, but I'll live with it and focus on getting something actually finished for now

A couple more WIP pics. I've put loads more hours into this, but you can barely see any difference.
Obviously the hair and laurel wreath still need to be finished, but the face is done. I don't think I can improve it. I keep tinkering with the armour though, trying to refine it, smooth out the rough edges. I have to tell you all - the rumours are true. Guilliman is an absolute bastard to paint. I was poking and prodding away for hours yesterday with a 00000 brush and magnifying glasses. All the gold is highlighted with silver, although you can't really see it in the photos, and shaded with riekland fleshshade and purple in the recesses. Are there any areas of the blue that stand out as needing some work? I keep seeing tiny areas where I've gone outside the lines, or the blends aren't very good, although the areas you're trying to blend are so tiny it's very difficult. For example, just looking now I notice a tiny spot at the bottom of his right leg, just by the inside ankle, where the fleshshade bled onto the blue a bit and discoloured it. I could end up fiddling with this forever.
As a side question, how much tinkering is too much?

@monkeytroll: I think the washes had the desired effect.
@Jamie Shred: They are looking great together.

Looking good guys, plenty of WIP drops I can see...I usually don't post WIP (no surprise factor ), since it's almost finished I might as well post one.
Armor still needs some weathering, the rest is finished.
I've been experimenting with enamel and oil paints, which all of the weathering was done.
