There was a TV show called Whitechapel that got cancelled just as it was starting to get really interesting. I wish that never happened and we got to see it’s cliffhanger resolved.

Also, having been on a huge Star Wars binge recently, I wish of course that all of its ‘mistakes’ could be rectified. Because it’s seemingly immune to basic storytelling principles.

Aliens vs. Predators. But set in the same timeframe as the Aliens movie, not in a current day earth... I was so disapointed when AvP was announced, but they would put it in present day earth. Basically, I wanted a movie version of the AvP PC game.

I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person.
That's what it says: A horrible person...
We weren't even testing for that.

Id like to see a good adaptation of the Martian Tales of Edgar Rice Burroughs. John Carter was a poor implementation of the character that didn’t really follow the books.
I’d like to see it as a serial TV series, but due to how badly they botched the movie release I don’t see it happening.

The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

As soon as I saw the heading, my first thought was Dredd sequel. Movie or TV.

Second thought; give my me Mad Max: Fury Road sequel.

Third thought: I want a Button Man movie. (2000AD strip from the 90s)

Then I kept on thinking and came up with;
Strontium Dog movie.
Sinister Dexter series.
Malazan Book of the Fallen mega-epic HBO drama.
Gaunt's Ghosts movie or TV series.
A movie featuring Ray Harryhausen's skeletons as the main characters.
A GOOD Dark Tower movie or series. (I did not hate Idris Elba as Roland, and some elements of the film were fine... but overall it did not do well enough for a sequel).
A World War Z Tv series, in the documentary style - like a fake Tiger King Netflix documentary.
Frederick Pohl's Gateway, adapted to a movie.
Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs and Steel, adapted as a (real) documentary.

That'll do for now.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

The Saddest thing is because they wrote it off as a loss, it can never be aired or released on DVD/streaming. Its literally lost media

I'll add to my earlier Hobbit/LOTR comment:

I'd like some quality, epic-sized science fiction properties, again done with the attention to detail, quality writing/casting of the original LOTR films. We often get lots of fantasy and sci-fi films, but they're almost never taken seriously or with big budgets or strong casts.

Perhaps Dune will scratch that itch. I'd enjoy a large mecha-based franchise that wasn't a complete fething turd and that was taken seriously...something like that.

This isn't entirely true anymore (thank god). You can find the full series on various digital platforms (iTunes sells it).

It warms my heart how many mentions Dredd has gotten in this thread. That movie was terrific, and I knew nothing about the character before even watching it. I'm honestly not even sure I ever saw the 90s Stallone version.

I'm gonna do 3 categories, 3 choices per. Here goes, in no particular order:

Films
1. Dredd sequel (like, hello)
2. Fury Road sequel
3. Heir to the Empire - this would have had to be a 90s production. It could've been amazing, certainly preferable to the prequels we got.

Videogames
1. Proper KOTOR sequel (no, the MMO does not count)
2. Freedom Fighters sequel (this was a totally boss tactical shooter from '03 that I'm sure not many people remember. It was like Red Dawn the videogame)
3. Rogue Squadron sequel (this series was so good!)

TV shows
1. Gentlemen Bastards - easily my favorite fantasy series ever, I would fething devour a TV show
2. Wheel of Time - I've only recently started reading these, I'm only on the second book. I think a TV show is actually happening though? Could be wrong
3. Revolution season 3+ - I'm probably the only person in the entire universe who actually liked this show so I understand why it was cancelled. I thought it was a lot of fun and would have loved to see where it went.

Oh they did.

I can't remember who. Someone salvaged the show from the heap a couple years ago and made it available for digital distribution.

I don’t think so but it doesn’t have to be an obstacle, especially considering how much has changed at Time Warner since it began.

I wouldn't mind a good remake of "Master of the world", which was basically 20,000 leagues under the sea on an airship.

Ultraverse. I don't care HOW they do it, but I'd love to see media involving The Ultraverse. I'd also love an Ultimate Alliance style Ultraverse game.

Continuity Comics also gets a severe nod as something I'd love to see.

I'd also love a Trek movie with Captain John Harriman commanding the Enterprise B. Actually, a TV series would be more than adequate.

nels1031 wrote:I want the Rocknrolla trilogy that Guy Ritchie supposedly envisioned for that original movie. He even teased it at the end credits.

And an Alexander the Great movie that isn't as boring as watching grass grow.

Or one that doesn't botch actual facts pertinent to Alexander's exploits because they were too focused on making sure everyone knew he was bi? That'd be great. Slip in the Siege of Tyre as well as the fight with Darius on the chariot. That'd be epic.

Promo? Half hour? CGI? Dunno. But it’s out there. And it’s not just chunks of the video game.

What do you remember about it.
I'll ask a couple of friends who were at Lucasfilm back then (he was a graphic artist for LFL also did some design work for SotE the game at the time, too. He came up with the logo for the "black sun" crime syndicate for the game (and was stoked when they used it in S5 of the clone wars, too). If there was promo video done for it, he'd know about it.

That would be awesome. Never mind Martin, I'm waiting for Scott Lynch to finish this series...

A TV show of Joe Abercrombie's First Law series is right up there with it.

And more Firefly obviously

Game of Thrones. . . redo the tail end of S7, all of S8 and give things their proper scale (ie, don't do a single episode for the battle of Winterfell, its supposed to be the BIGGEST threat and biggest fight, treat it as such)

I think John Scalzi's "Old Man's War" series would make an entertaining movie, or short series.

video game-wise, I would LOVE a Dante's Inferno sequel, and other than the weird visuals that game had, I'm not really sure why.

That is my biggest beef with Season 8 - I think they could have kept most of the majot plot points the same and it would have been a lot better with just 2 or 3 more episodes - Daenerys arc especially would have worked a lot better if it didn't feel so abrupt.

I think I would enjoy a series of true crime mockumentaries exploring such crime questions as who shot who at the Copacabana, who is the smooth criminal and is Annie okay, what really happened to bad, bad Leroy Brown on that fateful night, and uncovering all the gruesome details on the maneater.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. Good book and quite frankly an amazing soundtrack by Joel McNeely that bought Coruscant to life. Given its collaborative effort between all the LucasFilm parties involved, Disney is asking too much for fans to just throw it aside as "it didn't happen".

Firefox Down. Love the book to bits and a brilliant sequel to not only the original novel but also Clint Eastwood's film adaptation. Its a shame we'll never see the race to recover the Fox, trapped under the lake.

Revenge of the Titans. Quite liked Clash and Wrath and was hoping for a third. Oh well.

1. A proper faithful berserk adaptation series made in 1hr film instalments. Just like the golden age arc movies.
All the bells and whistles and proper hand drawing. None of this computer generated 3d crap..

I don't care how many artists have to be enslaved and chained to their desksand worked to the ground to get this done under fear for being sacrificed to Khorne! I want it done now! (Obviously joking)

2. this one is a bit tricky - BUT I would like to see a good series about king Arthur and the round table. Bit like BBC's Merlin,. but made more gritty and with adult content (blood guts and all that GOT style good stuff but without the rampant necessary nudity)

3. A series thats an adaptation of the eagles of the empire novels. Basicaly the first scene from gladiator but as a whole mini series...

4. This one is even trickier - BUT I would like to see a simarilion lord of the rings genesis style thing. Im not sure how this would be done with having Valaar running around and doing hand on things.. a lot of the concepts would be very very hard to translate into film format from the literature.. Bu c'mon.. we all want to see Ancalagon wreck the world right?

5. In the same vein of dragons wrecking stuff. I would like to see a pre-fall valyria series culminating with the doom.

This has legs!

Also, I'd like to see a TV adaptation of Christopher Hinz' Paratwa saga. And a movie based off Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime. And a big budget Legion of Superheroes show, capturing the warmth and charm of the old-school Legion. And a Redshirts movie. And a show based on Peter Clines' Ex- series about superheroes and zombies.

Oh, and a sequel to Dredd (in case nobody's mentioned that yet )

Currently reading 'The Legends of King Arthur and His Knights', by Sir James Knowles. I'm honestly surprised by how often there's a massive battle where they slaughter thousands, or a hack'n'slashfest between two knights where the ground is turned to a bloody marsh.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.
