I love so many ideas in this thread. I bet folks to kitbash them and post pics — and to homebrew rules. Oh, and I am desperately missing lots of things, but especially Sisters of Battle and Death Cult Assassins on bikes, both tactically and because I may be developing a fetish.

Well, if you check out Sister Sydney's homebrew/expansion rules, you'll find all kinds of units the Sisters could have, that fit with the theme of the Sisters (as a tabletop army) perfectly well, and are damn-near-perfectly balanced.

I’m updating that fandex now & I’m eager for feedback on new home-brew units for the Sisters: Sororitas Bikers, infiltrators & Novices, tanks, flyers, characters, superheavies, Frateris Militia, and now Confessors and Battle Conclave characters

Death Guard Vindicator - according to fluff, the Death Guard replenishes their stock of standard marine vehicles by using plagues and bio weapons to kill their original crew and then capturing their vehicles. This seems to work great for predators, landraiders and rhinos, but for some reason not for vindicators.

schould've played SM, considering they get new bikers and insta new confirmation for bike HQ's.

Be happy that you still have 3 HQ for your differing mini subsubfactions.

I figure they forgot we exist. The range is missing loads of units, both functionally and from a fluff perspective. It's also weird that they split the Dex into 4 and only gave 3 groups faction traits. If our mercenaries had traits they'd be good. Scourges in particular really need a trait.

I've largely stopped buying minis, not because I don't want more or can't afford them, just because I have the entire range in more than triplicate, so I can't use any more. I'd happily buy new DE units, and I'll get the resculpted incubi when they come out on their own, not sure what I'll do with 100 incubi though.

I think GW simply decided that a PBC IS a DG Vindicator. Personally I've built my Vindicator in a way it can be used as PBC or Vindi, depending on if I'm fielding my Nurgle Renegades or DG.

But it really isn't? Fluff describes it as Mortarion creating a tank that is superior to both the predators and the vindicator, yet we still have predators.

If anything, the vindicator is the tank that fits DG's way of waging war most.

My only wish from book to book now is that GW doesn't remove anything else for DE. How ing sad is that.

Pretty much the same. My pile of official.but unusable models is quite large. Conversions of units that had no models too. Hopefully we don't lose anything too vital.next time round. I'm still salty that Razorbacks went from 4 shots with rerolls to 12 shots at the start of 8th, whilst venoms went from 12 shots Range 36" to 6 shots with Rapid Fire... So instead of being amazing mobile firebases to get the same damage as 7th either their range or firepower was halved your choice.... Makes sense when you double everyone else's firepower (triple for Razorbacks).

My most wished for item is a man portable disintegrator or failing that a disintegrator rifle as an alternative to the blaster. Oh and for the Lance rule to.exist again in some form.

My expecations are so low I'd even be happy with a Venom/Raider upgrade that adds an additional seat for an HQ.

Boy, it is going to be super weird when space marines no longer use those tanks but chaos do.

Who are you stealing from?

How have you not managed to get any of the current marine vehicles?

Where are you getting these old ones?

It sure is a mystery.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

The fact that csm only have the one pattern is quite odd considering that they stole all the land raider blueprints (stcs, whatever) at the end of the Heresy and took them with them into the Eye. Not to mention that the Dark Mechanicus doesn't have the same qualms about modifying existing tech that their loyalist cousins do.

Uh... I hate to break it to you, but when those vehicles go to Legends for SM, they're going to Legends for CSM too. They use the same plastic kit.

Wait Nurgle can make a pestilence so invasive as to kill a techmarine crewman inside the NBC protection of their armour, while buttoned up in an NBC protected(and in some cases void protective(landraider)) vehicle? Good thing they only roll that cheese out when they want tanks, not when they're actually fighting.

This is one of the problems with 40k. The Tyranids also don't need anything bigger than a microbe to conquer a planet. It just gets filed under "shutup and roll your dice".

It is interesting that apparently THE siege warriors of the galaxy don't own siege guns.

Like my comment on the Minelayer etc. more something fluffy that transports badly on the tabletop:

IG: amphibious vehicles, the Gorgon heavy Transport is mentioned as amphibious and I remember reading there was an amphibious chimera subtype somewhere in the past

also: brown water Navy Vietnam Style, especially since the guard might have to patrol on a planet for quite some time and ships might be more usefull and fuel efficient than planes in the long run

And as mentioned elsewhere: all factions that have expendable infantry they don't care so much about (IG, Genestealers, Cultists, Nids, to a lesser degree also Orks): some reaaally cheap, unarmoured transport like a basic truck for 20 guys or jeeps for 5. No weapons, no armor, just something hauling around your dudes and their baggage, without investing in a real fighting vehicle.

The amphibious Chimera is the regular Chimera.

Trucks would be an interesting model - just as an example of more civilian-like vehicles. But IRL they are not used on the battlefield if at all possible. They are to get you to the battlefield not to be a deathtrap on the battlefield.

The Chimera is amphibious. It used to have a rule for that. It basically never ever comes into play at this point so they dumped it.

Nurgle's plagues rot away everything, including that NBC protection. There are plenty of abilities representing this, most just aren't working quick enough to kill a vehicle within one battle which only lasts a couple of minutes in real time.
Mortarion's plagues literally kill tech marines within one battleround if they are within 7" of him.
