Im fairly sure he was confusing the Errata which is 7 pages, there is no way GW can do all 18 legions in 7 pages.

As much as people want to crap all over GW for this, I don't think that was ever the plan to have it be that small.

PDF for legacy that was 7 pages and had to be increased in size because GW fethed up in their rules department? Check.

You know what. You do you, but at this stage this looks, smells and feels like a dumpster fire and gw panicking. Doubly so because there also was the rumour that GW forced 3rd parties that wanted to be in the preorder to buy more boxes aswell.

Pictures have obvious errors and units that are cut being shown means they saved on the editors

this is now the 2nd HH themed release that went wrong after LI, which indicates that this department isn't doing very well with either not enough people to get the work done, the management try to force strategies on them that don't work and/or they run out of ideas on how to meet the target set for the department and just tried to replicate 40k because this game sells

Too many SNAFUs surrounding this release. While there is a 'not irredeemable' game under all that text, the fact fact that there is all that text, the art errors, the cut units (plus the delay to the Legacy PDF) and the mishandled marketing (due to the misjudgment of the typical HH player) have sullied the product.

While the LI delay was, I think, an editing issue, this seems more 'he team' as a whole, which means, really, the Team Leader, whoever that is. Trouble is, it'll be years before lessons learned (if any) become apparent.

We will almost certainly find out something from next year's annual report. This year discusses Skaventide not selling as well as expected as it had an impact on GW's warehousing costs.

The annual summer boxed game release is quite a big chunk of GW's revenue, it generally has enough second order impacts on the company you can tell how it sold.

Nah, that tracks with the amount of effort the rules portion of this project appears to be getting.

Looks like Wayland have sold through, saving me from myself and the intrusive thoughts telling me to buy another one.

Got me Dread weapons ordered. Bit disappointed they’re Direct Only, but nowt else to do.

Selling weapon upgrade sprues direct-only in generic boxes is something GW have done for many years now. Pretty sure it started with customers asking for the Adeptus Titanicus weapons separately, rather than having to buy a whole new titan for the extra options.

Yup both the Reaver and Warlord titans have direct-only options, same for the leviathan and Deredeo option sprues.

It’s funny when people are like “doing exactly the same thing they did the last four times? It must be for revenge!” Frankly it just shows how little actual attention and knowledge they have.

I doubt that’s the reason to be honest. The discount a third party sells stuff they bought from GW doesn’t affect how much they paid GW.

Also those boxes were ordered, sized and made up long before.

I think I’m just misremembering the Leviathan weapons being non-direct only, due to confusion with the infantry upgrades.

I know I sourced my ranged ones from GW, as I got the postage free with a WH+ model.

Previous weapon kits for dreadnoughts were already direct only. The difference (which wasn't mentioned in the preview article on Sunday) was that the Desintegrator weapons are direct only this time (unless all previous weapon kits for HH).

They sold 950 units since yesterday? And Darksphere's page for it is just gone. Seems more like shenanigans to me.

EDIT: GW probably figure the vast quantities of Disintegrator sprues on ebay for 5-8 quid shipped will be enough to satisfy the demand from the portion of the audience that cares enough about value to look for discounts.

Either that or I’m used to aftermarket pricing. The arakne seems to go for £15 to £20. The dread is going for £32 or so. Hell, I’ve managed to snag 20 MkII’s for £26.

Sadly the EU market is not so flooded with cheap Saturnines. Basically apart from the Araknae, nothing is being sold low enough to be worth bothering with compared to a full kit on regular online discount.

Local shops seem as though they mostly arent even bothering with preorders for this week. Pretty clear indicator that they dont expect individual kits to sell.

To be fair even on kits that sold well that's fairly standard when they get split that soon after the boxed set. I think the only one that really bucked that trend was likely Leviathan and that was due to a whole raft of other factors going on at the time which snowballed things.
