Yep GW does not normally address any thing like this - they just move on.

In Temple of Spite, the recent WFRP Dark Elf sourcebook, he is called Malerion the Dread King. No explanation, that is just how it has always been.

Any rumours about what the next MtO Wave could be?

Did they ever brought Plastic with Mto back?

There have been many plastic MTOs. I recently bought a MTO Noise Marine, for example. They did a MTO of the 3rd edition space marines and dark eldar a couple years ago.

Yeah I have a shelf full of massive plastic terrain boxes, all MTO.

Still waiting for more, gradually churning through them. God damn love me some overpriced plastic terrain.

Some of them are just really cool, such fun kits. I don't blame you.

Not for the subject of this thread - The Old World - though. I assume that's what the original question was related to, specifically.

My Question was more open, MtO in General.

I hope we also will see classic Plastic Kits maybe for TOW.

Old Empire State Troops, pre 2004 Chaos Warriors, MtO rerun of the last Marauders, old Dark Elves (when they appeared in TOW) ect.

Oh, I misunderstood. Yeah, I don’t think they’ve done a plastic MTO for TOW yet.

I’d love to see the original Skeleton Army sometime!

Saw some people saying there were rumors of TOW sales cratering late last year or earlier this year and that demand didnt sustain itself past the initial wave of nostalgia releases.

Like a lot of games that aren't 40K - it seems spotty in terms of some areas its big some areas its not. I do expect that with Cathay now out with a brand new army, we might well see nostalgic sales of older models in existing armies start to dry up.

Cathay definitely helped and yeah, it's definitely a "by area" in terms of players. We've got a decent sized group here in Biloxi, my old gaming group in Baton Rouge has a decent amount of players, and there's some players in Hattiesburg, Covington, and Pensacola. So along the Gulf Coast, we have a fairly large combined group in a 4 hour sphere of influence when events are ran and being Americans, 4 hour round trip drive to attend a single day tourney/event isn't a huge task.

An MTO for the old 'Talisman' plastic characters that weren't re-released as unit boxes - like the college wizards - would be nice.

There's a rumour going around Reddit of a Cathay vs Chaos Warriors starter with redone plastics for the Chaos side.

It would make a lot more sense than Wood Elves vs Tomb Kings narratively, and there were also a lot of rumours about redone Chaos Warriors, and GW has stopped stocking them. I dunno, seems likely. I picked up a box of the old ones anyway.

This rumour coming from a discord that was confirming another rumour from youtube

though, it fits the story the same way, the current TOW story line has Tomb Kings going from their first invasion points going into Athel Loren (to fill up their magic), hence the end of edition cliffhanger is with those 2

while the Cathay landing in the north and fighting Chaos is a 2nd story line going on where we don't really know what is coming

Former employee talked about on the Square Based podcast of this possibility: ToW sold so well they blew past their sales goals. not wanting to make the following fiscal year goals too high, they slowed the pace considerably. expect it to ramp up again after 11th 40K."

I hope we also see more MtO then.

Some MtO Stuff should be permanent available.

That's unlikely; the MTO right now for Old World is pure nostalgia driven for older players for the most part. Nothing wrong in that at all; but GW as a company is going to more likely put long ter production into long term goals.

Considering that we've been seeing the resin drying up a bit and that GW clearly doesn't want to stick with metal long term for mass production; we can expect that the success of Old World means more long term new plastics. We've even see them re-release some new resin models in plastic already.

This is a huge sign that Old Wrold is selling REALLY well that GW are giving it more plastic production slots.

He's probably referring to the resin Tomb Prince that was released at the start of TOW and replaced with a plastic Tomb Prince kit less than two years later.

The Free Company kit is one of the best kits they've ever made.

I think part of the issue is the 7th/8th ed kits weren't regarded an improvement on the 6th ed ones (of which Free Company was part of). The 7th ed releases were highly criticised at the time.

The State Troops kit represents the average State Trooper rather well, is characterful in ways few modern GW kits manage to be, and doesn't overload what are supposed to be rank and file models with absurd levels of detail, like the recent Cathay kits.

There's a pretty slim chance of a replacement being an improvement.
