Thanks and Cheers everyone,

I continued with the Spida last night. I gave him a thin wash of Devlan Mud, applied with the airbrush. It toned down everything nicely.

Then it received a heavy washing with Badab Black, applied normally with a brush.

Starts getting grimy and dark.

Then I applied the first highlights.

I'm not sure if its really visible, but I did the red fuel can and its straps, the hydraulics pistons received a metal highlight, and the hexagonal mounts of the hydraulics got some first highlights.

Still a lot of highlighting and detailing before I can add the weathering and damages....but I really look forward to that
Cheers

So, just found this thread, and my ADHD self actually read through the whole thing. Your work is incredible. I lack the words- your stuff is really great. Can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks,

I completed the Spida walkers base.
All damage and weathering is done, eventhough it will receive some rust and dust pigmenting once in the diorama, but this will have to wait till the diorama base is completed, so all minis will fit and blend in.

You can view some in-between image in my blog, but here are the final images.
A front leg with the "Stachelnschweinz" Icon

Another front leg

Two of the rear legs

Front view - does it look real and scary enough?

Eventhough the turret and gun aren't completed yet, they look nice on it

I hope you like it.
Cheers

Thanks

Well I managed to complete the weathering and damaging.

First I did the driva and his manic grin

then the platform and the gun

and finally the outside of the drivas compartment - or the face

The right side

Left side

Front

I really like how it turned out. Now I have to complete the Gretchin crew.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but my hernia operation strained me a bit more than I thought.
Nevertheless, I was able to complete the "Suicide Bomber"

Then I started to work on the Waaargh Boss, and decided to remove him from the big diorama and give him a setting for himelf.
For this I cut some styrofoam and mounted it on an old blank-CD case

Then I covered it with some instant plaster

And gave it some coats of paint and some drybrushes

Another staging shot with the actors

and the first paint for the 3 Orks

I hope you like it

It is a good thing you painted the diorama piece as it looked like a big cream pie

Hehe
So I continued to work on the "cream pie"

I completed the little Gretchin Ninja, and since he was a bit featureless and dull (simply black), I decided to give him a glowing power sword

Then I used Lemmingspawns color recepie to give the boss his rusty base color

and added colored panels

Next was the Gretchin drummer

and some details

and this is the current state of the pieces

as you can see I try to make the Marine a Dark Angel, as I personally find it ironic to have Greenskins fight Greenarmours
I hope you like it.

Hey all,
I was finally able to continue with the scene.
I toned down some of the colors some more

yes, there is a rip in the center of the banner, intentional, but unfortunately not as visible as I wanted it.

I also completed the Dark Angel (not the eyes are dull, no longer glowing and shining)

And all actors on the scene

And another total

I hope the idea of the scene "Boz o' da Dakka!" (Leader of the Attack) also comes clear, that while everybody looks at the huge boss, in reality the little Ninja leads the attack, by sneaking up and killing the enemy.
Theres still some detailing, cleanup and weathering to do, as well as some rubble for the steps is needed, but the majority of the job is done and I'm quite pleased with the result.
As usual you can see more in my blog:

While I'm waiting for some items needed to complete the "Boz o' da Dakka" scene and waiting for the votes of the Deathwatch Competition to close, I was wondering what to do next...
...of course I could always continue on the ATHENA, or paint the STRIX, or...
...start something completely different

And while wandering the wide expanses of the internet and WH40K forums, I ran across a competition on Ammobunker for "Inquisitorial Henchmen"
Now that's a really cool topic and a brilliant competition - but for me the timeline is a bit too competitive :-P

Nevertheless, it got me thinking.
And you know what happens then

Of course I could never be satisfied with simply building one miniature all by itself...no, Mr. Klaus must always build more, bigger, larger ...
So over a few nights a simple idea brewed into something that's far from simple *chuckle*

The working title is:
"Inquisitor Hellsryche - Court Martial in the Field"

I'm starting out with a vehicle build. It will be a 99% scratchbuild.
Please note: the following build process was done over a timespan of 5 days
I started with the basic frame of the vehicle and the wheels (the Dencarian Naval officer is only for scale)

Since I wasn't quite pleased with the wheels I selected, I used some ProCreate and sculpted some tires onto them

Then I worked on the body of the vehicle

and now it may remind you of this classial limo

Then I worked some on the interior, and as you can see, it will have 3 seats and a larger seat in the back

And, to make it more compfortable and clasical I also sculpted some cushions

I will do those cushions also for the other seats.

As usual you can see more images and details in my blog.

I hope you like the start of this new project.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers

Thanks guys,

I continued building things out.
For Ordo Hereticus Grandmaster Hellsryche I use the legs of Jarran Kell, and the torso of Emperor Karl

The driver received one of the "old" heads I had prepped for the ZEUS crew

but looking at these images, I realize that I have to re-sculpt the ears - they look like cabbage *lol*

Then I worked on Hellsryches face itself. Despite it being mostly under a hood, I wanted it to be very characteristic.

It's based on a standard Catachan head with some extra scars and bionics.

Next I built the "Book of Accusation", which holds all the charges of the unlucky subjects investigated and court martialed by the Ordo Hereticus

It's completely done with plasticard - the back with 1mm, the pages with .25mm plasticard.

Here's Igor the factotum, holding the Hammer of Inquisition and the Book of Accusation, which is read by the priest, or chief prosecutor

And finally another position shot of Hellsryche, the driver, and the seats in place

I hope you like the progress
Cheers

Initial

Then first "amputations" of nose and chin

and final face

He'll be very pale skin (I think)

Your work is amazing! And the way you jump from project to project makes me feel not so alone in the world! LOL Of course there is a huge difference! Your skill is out of this world, and you actually finish a project here and there. Oh well, I will keep an eye on this thread! I am overwhelmed by the Athena, that's incredible!

Well, since the Deathwatch Competition voting is over, I can post WIP and finished images.
I hope you can enjoy them

I started off with building the skeletton of Emilius van Hainbruch for the sakophagus

Next I scribed the runes and symbols into the base plate

Here's a group shot

The painted base plate

the marble base for the shrine

The finished sakophagus

A PIP shot of the NM-Gold

And the finished shots:

You can view all of the images in thegallery:

Thank you all for the votes!
It was a pleasure and very nice competition - I enjoyed every second.
