So me and my buddy max are gonna get a game in tomorrow. With 'Ard Boyz right around the corner, we decided to try and practice with our lists and see if they work as planned! That being said, heres the lists:

ORCS OF AMERICA UNITE!!!
So we have a Kan wall list with some interesting tricks that will throw opponents off against a mechanized
DoA list.... who will win?
Mission: Kill Points
Deployment: Dawn of War
I win the roll to go first but choose to give first turn and choice to max. He choses his side of the board and away we go!
Neither of us choose to deploy anything.
Orcs T1

Everything moves on. His stormboyz roll well and get a 17" move! His 3 boyz squads (ghaz in one), deff dread, and nobz are on my left. To my right, all his kanz and battlewagon.
Shooting: He ruins everything and gets 5's and 6's on all his run moves!

I move everything on. I combat squad 1 group of
AM's, both ravens come on flat out, both other
AM squads just come on 12". All 3 baals move on 6" and spread about 10" apart. I also place 1 combat squad on my far right to bait the stormboyz.
Shooting! My far left raven kills 3 boyz from his left squad. My other raven can't see his deff dread due to nightfighting :( All my
AM's run and spread out. All 3 baals focus on his stormboyz, 2 manage to see em and 1 misses. Shooting kills 4 stormboyz and they break and run! They run 11" right behind the kanz in his backfield.

Thoughts: Hopefully the stormboyz keep running... the fact they can move soooooo far and assault means I need to get rid of them! All 3 baals will continue plucking away at them if they come back. My raven squads will deal with his leftside boyz squads. My
AM's will just try and get to something and beat it up... thats the plan anyway!
Orcs Turn 2

Snikrot and co. come in from reserves... oh no!
Snikrot and his buddies come in on my far right, right behind my combat squad there. His leftmost boyz squad moves up to get in an assault on my raven. His boyz w/ ghaz roll low for their S&P roll and decide to fall back 3" instead of move up. His deff dread and middle boyz move up. All his kanz and battlewagon move up max distance. Zagstruk and co. rally and move up 17" again, back behind the building they were hugging on T1... (we weren't sure how far you moved when you rallied, but we were too lazy to look up and decided they move as normal)
Shooting! Everybody runs for the most part, max gets 5's and 6's on all his run rolls again except for his rokkit kanz. His commandos shoot up my 5 man assault squad doing notta.
Assault! His boyz surge forward, punching the raven... and score 1 hit, but fail to do anything. His Commandos charge my assault squad and after the dust clears hes killed all but my melta guy there and I took out 2 commandos. We stick in!

Blood Angels Turn 2

I decide to press the attack! My rightmost baal pred moves up 12" toward his stormboyz, my middle baal moves over 6", and my last baal moves up 6". Both my middle marine squads and 5 man squad move up 6 or so inches behind the middle ruin. My leftmost raven drops off meph and my
DC dread to charge the boyz, and moves 6" to get a clear
LOS on the side of his wagon. My middle raven shuffles backward a little.
Shooting! My left raven fires all 4 of its missles at the side of the battlewagon, wrecking it! The burnas and mek pile out. Max doesn't quite get half his squad out of
LoS and both my middle baals open up, killing around 5 burnas. They pass morale. My fast moving baal opens on the stormboyz killing 3. They stay put. My last raven unloads and explodes the deff dread, taking down 3 boyz with it. I also
POTMS both my assault cannons and plink a few more boyz. All my
AM's run and spread out summore. Meph and my
DC dread kill 4 boyz before they charge in.
Assault! My last combat marine goes down in a blaze of... nothing. The commandos consolidate toward my 2 baals in the middle. Mephhy and my
DC dread manage to kill around 20 boyz, and he manages to immobilize my
DC dread. At this point a large discussion happens: Max feels that the rules as written mean that you can use a boss pole as many times as you like. I argue that it isn't intended that way; no rule in the game allows you to "keep trying til you run out". Either way, I let him do it and he loses all his boyz to boss pole rolls... Meph consolidates toward my ravens base.
Kill Points: Orcs 1 - Blood Angels 3
Thoughts: That argument over the boss pole put me in a semi-sour mood at this point, but things are going well! I know snikrots gonna put some hurt on my baal and Zag and boys will hurt my righthand baal. But either way, I got max in a good position!
Orcs Turn 3

Max announces this turn hes gonna WAAAAGGGHHH!!! which means hes gonna get a lot of my stuff... damnit, I forgot about Ghaz's auto 6 WAAAGH! His boyz and nobz all surge forward, he rolls a 6 for ghaz's move. All his kanz start moving over his battlewagon and he loses 1 to
DT. I also argue here that Walkers don't have move through cover... (we resolve this argument during turn 4) so they all get a 5 or 6 moving over the wagon. Zag and his boyz move up a whopping 15" ready to charge my baal. Snik and boyz spread to get a multi on my other 2 baals. Burnas move up and around the wrecked wagon.
Shooting! His kanz shoot a bunch of grotzookas, killing 1 marine from my middle 10 man squad. His rokkits miss my middle raven. Everything else fleets 6".
Assault! Here comes the pain train... Zag and boyz charge my baal. At this point I learn Zag has a
str 9
PF... I thought it was just when he deep strikes? Anywho, he sneaks 1 attack through and manages to immobilize my baal. Snikrot and boyz multicharge my other 2 baals and wreck one, immobilize and tear off the assault cannon on the other. His nobz and middle boyz squad charge my front 10 man squad, killing the priest and 4 marines. I manage to kill 3 or 4 boyz and his nobz pass all their saves. We stay locked in. Oh, and his burnas were like half an inch off assaulting my 5 man combat squad.

Blood Angels Turn 3

Mephhy gets into his raven and moves 12" up, baiting ghaz. My other raven moves up 6" and unloads my death company to charge the nobz/boyz. My 5 man squad moves up to charge the burnas, my other 10 man squad moves to kill the commandos. My priest breaks off and stays between squads to spread his awesomeness. Baals all stay put.
Shooting! My combat squad blasts 2 or 3 burnas, my 10 man squad with help of the immobilized baal with bolters kills all but 4 commandos. My baal with its cannon still blows up all but zag and 1 boy. Both ravens start working on kanz, managing to kill 1 rokkit (Note: My assault cannons keep rolling 3's or less, so they're not glancing or penning).
Assault! My
DC roll box cars barely making it into assault with the boyz. I manage to wipe ALL the boyz but his
PK out... the nobz and the
PK manage to finish my
AM's. At this point we argue weather his nobz would still be part of the combat, and I argue they would be because when we started it was all one large assault. He tries to do the boss pole crap again, and finally we agree I would sweep his guys. My
DC consolidates toward ghaz's squad. My 5 man squad charges the burnas. I lose 1 guy, I manage to kill his mek with a
PF attack and 1 burna. He sticks in. His commandos evaporate before they swing.
Kill Points: Orcs 4 - Blood Angels 7
Thoughts: All these rules arguments are slowly turning this game frustrating; however, its close, and max is a great player. I still have ghaz's blob to worry about, and Zagstruk is gonna kill my priest most likely. The Kanz are also gonna get into the game soon!
Orcs Turn 4

Ghaz doesn't take the bait and moves toward my death company. His rokkit kanz move toward my raven with the furioso in it. The rest of his kanz spread out to fire lots opf grotzookas at my assault marines... Zag and his last boy move 17" again, ready to plow my priest.
Shooting! Lots and lots of grotzookas manage to kill... no marines. YAY
FNP! His rokkits miss. Nothing else shoots...
Assault! Ghaz and crew make it into my death co. I manage to kill only 3 boyz, he murders the squad and I pass the 1
PF attack that hits my chappy. Chappy makes his fearless saves; trying to stave off the orcs all by himself! The burnas whiff, and miraculously, I WHIFF TOO! ARG. Zag charges and that
str 9 power klaw owns my priest :/ He consolidates back a little. His Kanz make it to my raven... and score 2 hits outta 6! He pens and blows my melta off and shakes it.

Blood Angels Turn 4

In an attempt to save my chappy, meph and my furioso get out to charge the back of the boyz. My 10 man squad moves to kill the burnas off and save my combat squad. Both my baals have sights on Zag and boy. Both ravens shuffle, both 12".
Shooting! I unload on the rokkit kanz with my ravens, managing to wreck both. Both baals finish the stormboyz finally.
Assault! My 13 remaining marines kill the burnas. I consolidate my combat squad forward to bait his kanz from my larger squad. My other squad moves back 5". Meph and my furioso get into combat and kill off around 12 boyz. He manages to kill my chappy. he loses 8 more boyz to fearless, and he piles in, 1
PK vs my furioso, and ghaz vs meph.
Kill Points: Orcs 7 - Blood Angels 10
Thoughts: So he has 5 kanz, 7 boyz, and ghaz left. I have this in the bag! Just gotta whittle away the kanz, mephy and the furioso have that combat well in hand!
Orcs Turn 5

His 5 kanz move toward my 3 man combat squad.
Shooting! He fires lots of grotzookas, kills like 1 marine.
Assault! His 2 kanz charge and kill my 3 man squad. They're now in the open! Mephhy takes a wound trying to cast unleash fury... but passes sword. He does 4 wounds to ghaz, and ghaz saves 3 wounds! UGH! Thye furioso whiffs, hitting once. He manages to kill 2 boyz.... ugh. Ghaz then hits and wounds meph 4 times... and his klaw manages to pen my furioso, tearing a claw off. DAMNIT! His other kanz charge my stormraven. He manages 5 hits, and 4 pens on it... and rolls all 1's and 2's, and 1 3! Its now weaponless

Blood Angels Turn 5

I move my 9 assault marines toward his kanz, ready to fire a crapload into the 2 guys. My weaponless ravne turbos across the board, my other raven shuffles to help shoot his 2 kanz.
Shooting! 3 meltas (2 hit), and 2 pens from an assault cannon, and... I manage to wreck 1 kan and take the
DCCW off the other. The hell :(
Assault! I charge in, and manage to hit 1 grenade and do squad. He swings and wounds BOTH his kanz attacks, which I save..... and I roll 3 1's for my power fist. Stuck in with 1 kan. Bleh. Ghazzy and his crew lose 2 more boyz, and then rape my furioso, tearing its other arm off, immobilizing it... but fail to get the last result needed to wreck it! His other 3 kanz make it to my raven and charge it. He scores 3 attacks (notice how well hes been rolling to hit fast vehicles all game? damn max....) and pens 3 times... rolling all 1's and 2's again. At least his damage results are low @_@

Max rolls to see if we keep going and... ROLLS A 1!!!!
At the end of the game we counted kill points and somehow came to a 9 to 9 tie. After writing this I realized I actually killed 1 more

Pretty much the bloodiest battle I've fought in a long, long, long time.
VICTORY FOR THE BLOOD ANGELS!!!!
Afterthoughts: Well a few things were learned from this battle;
1) Ghaz has a 5+ invun, not 4+, and his auto 6 waagh!
2) Walkers don't have move through cover
3) Baal preds are so-so... might go back to speeders, but what to spend 225 points on...? I'm thinking of trying them w/o sponsons my next game and adding more death company.
4) Stormboyz have an INSANE threat range... 12"+
d6 move? thats crazy. And Zagstruk makes them even better!
5) Never deploy clustered when snikrots around

6) Meph and a dread can take down a boyz squad; but, Ghaz can rape meph with help
lol
7) Luck is a much bigger part of some games...
So, If I'd rate my units this game, this is how it'd go:
Meph - A+ - He dominates everything he touches and is tough as hell... if ghaz didn't save 3 outta 4 wounds, he probably would have ran through him too!
DC Dread - B- - Lot easier to kill than a furioso, but more killy. Talons are always rockin
Furioso Dread - B+ - Even tho he lost his arm quick, he held up a lot of crap for 2 turns
Assault Marines - C+ - They didn't do much this game, but I got them too close too quickly I reckon. Normally do much better.
Baal Predators - D - They did very little this game - killed like 8 stormboyz and 6 commandos.... Everytime I aimed them at the Kanz they did diddly. Maybe assault cannons don't like me?
Death co. w/ Chappy - B - They dominated, just like they're built for... and then got dominated themselves. Problem is, they're a one trick pony sometimes... which makes me wary of them. Kinda miss my terminator detah star...
Stormravens - A++ - Hard to kill, as always. Got things where I needed em when I needed em. And they both lived!.... albeit, through luck.
Priests - B - I misplayed them this game, but did their jobs.
And max's units:
Ghazkill - A+ - so.... killy. And gave his army a MASSIVE threat range turn 3.
Boyz - A - They're boyz... they always do their job; nuff said.
Battlewagon - D - it died and didn't do much else.... side armor 12 just kills it.
Burnas - D - Without the wagon, they die really quickly. Plus having ALL power weapons at I2 and
Str 3... kinda sucks.
Mekboy w/
KFF - B - didn't do too much this game, but mostly due to the fact he couldn't deploy all balled up around him cuz of
DoW.
Kanz - C - They did nothing this game. They killed like 5 marines... yepper.
Deff dread - E - He just died... slow... just an easy kill point. I know he dominates in
CC; but getting him there is the hard part.
Nobz - C - They hurt, but without the
PK,
FnP definite dulls them.
Stormboyz - B - These guys... that threat range was stupid quick. And a
str 9
pk at I4...? damn good!
Commandos - A - They killed 2
KP's and made me reverse my momentum to deal with them. Great disruption unit, especially with the 6" waagh!
rules disputes aside, I had a great game and learned quite a bit. Not many people play orcs around our area, and especially a harder list. I know max wants to change up some things, such as add lootas, and I'm thinking of cutting the baals or cutting their sponsons (then I'd just move 12" all the time without worries!). Hope ya'll enjoyed the rep, I'll be getting a second practice game in this sunday!
