SO MANY PUNS.

It's getting better, I'm just standing at work and not tempting fate by sitting. Plan to be painting again on Sunday at this point. Finally mailed out some finished figs as making people wait longer so I could get shots was getting ridiculous, so that feels better

I didin't go Simic, I went Gruul, and it was awful. Not impressed with card synergy in the prerelease box anyway, Boros was the clear winner and absolutely DESTROYED competition on both days, with the best Boros players making the top 5 each time. It was actually ridiculous. Dimir came in last, poor Dimir.

Good to see your return, Ifalna. (Did I get it right this time? lol)

Hope your back is in tip-top shape before too long. I've thrown my out coughing and don't stand a chance of it getting better until this coughing ends.

Maybe if I could finally hack up this lung...

One thing that helped my back a lot was stretching my hamstrings. Sitting for 8-10 hours at work, then 3-6 more at home got them super tight, and they were yanking my back out of alignment and cutting off circulation to my feet. The latter thing is actually what got the Dr.s thinking it was my leg and not my back after a year of scans and tests.

So yea, might not be your problem, but lots of life's issues can be solved by putting your feet behind your head, so it is worth trying.

I'm sure when they are done they will make it here, as it is the client's primary stomping ground. The mini updates come via Facebook, due mostly to ease of pic upload I suspect.

Facebook is indeed a bit easier as I can upload and post so quickly from work, but I will be back on Dakka quite a lot more now that the crazy busy period is over and I have a bit more " Standing still" time!

Here are lots of images for the stuff I have been painting recently than I actually have shots of! (curse that sore back)

This is a group shot of all the water bases and small treasure piles I have finished up. Notice how incredible huge those treasure piles are! How can the boats carry them? Are those goblets the size of buildings? How does this work! I am full of so many questions. It is incredible.

They are a bit less colourful than they show here, the new lightbox really emphasises colours that arent as noticeable in the hand, but they turned out lovely and quite dynamic.

Here is an elf for size comparison, these are tiiiiiny. They look so big when there is nothing next to them to show the actual scale.

Here are the little treasure piles a bit closer, they are quite colourful but I might give a final extreme edge highlight in places. They are so small I don't want to go too crazy with them or they could be ruined, it's hard to decide!

This is my favourite, a floating pile of rotten guts! It was based in bleach bone and coloured entirely with varied washes and varnish, I think it turned out really vile and am happy with it fer sure Need to go over the dangly guts out the back though.. yuck!

A closer shot of some of the other bases, very happy with the rising swell on them though the green is not as noticeable in the hand.

Now here are some much lower quality but still fun little trophies I painted up for our stores Bloodbowl league!

This is da golden mummy, he sticks on top of the main trophy for the final winner. Just to give the trophy some extra golden class. Yeah man.

These are tiny cute BB trophies that stick on small plaques. One has already been collected buy I got shots of these others They were pointy and I hated them. They hurt my hands. I hate their evil little faces, I hope they appreciate all I did for them.

And a bonus shot of some friends I sneakily took a photo of while editing the others. They all look extremely angry despite not being at all, so I'm happy with it.

I'm going to take more shots of fun stuff tomorrow, and get the smaller boats finished

Nice to see an update, Ifanaan - I understand from watching Jay's videos that you won't be able to see most of those guts once the upper part of the creature is attached, so I'm a little surprised to see so much work put into them.

Nice to see the Spike! Magazine trophy getting some attention, though.

Also, if you're getting fun pics - we can haz donuts?

OH-I Wanna get out of here

That gut pile looks awful. Perfect.

I've got as many comments on the water bases as the boats for the three I have. They are mind numbingly amazing. Can't wait (but I have to) for them to be finished up. Those lil boats go with the Heldenhammer, I do believe (ill verify in the book), just as a reminder. Makes me quite happy to know I have one of the nicest copies of dreadfleet, bar none.

I think the treasure is good, I wouldn't go to nuts on those. If you think they are out of scale, wait till you see the compass.

Yeah the guts will be mostly covered, but I still wanted to get them looking nice and gross to not cut corners That and they were really really fun!

Holy crap I am so happy you like the water, it seems to be something a lot of Dreadfleet sets don't seem to be getting done with the same amount of effort as the ships, and it is such a shame as it can let them down a bit I think. With the ships on these they will look freaking lovely, I'm going to do the wee Heldenhammer ones today as they are so small and cute and I can get them finished nicely in a relatively short amount of time

Is the compass the size of Ireland in comparison? Hahah.

Wehrkind wrote:That really is some fantastic looking water. Very impressive.

Thanks man, it is splish splashy!

I had a comment on Facebook earlier that someone had thought I had abandoned this blog, and I just wanted to say NO.

This is a painting blog based on photos. If I don't have photos, I don't feel right spamming it with text. Chatting with me and having fun is what Facebook is for, and Tumblr is image based also so I don't tend to update it without having shots or I just spam a couple of hundred people with crap they are likely not interested in :( Painting blogs that are mostly chat aren't really painting blogs, they are just chat rooms with the odd picture to me, and I am very (maybe overly?) serious about not mucking up a blog or page people are following me on.

Hopefully I'm making a bit of sense here, it's hard to explain well.

Yea, we all seem to like random gibberish, well enough to produce a lot ourselves at least. Hell, I still don't know how to parse the "Stop" image with Jack Black, but I still giggled a bit.

I think it is fair to say your personality drives a lot of your popularity here.

I'm going to guess that the suggestion that Ifanaan solve problems by putting her feet behind her head was a touch euphemistic, and didn't want anyone taking that idea any further - Jack was meant to run interference in case people did head that way regardless...
