As far as we know yes, as long as you're getting a physical thing shipped to you you'll get the twilight knight
but you need to pledge at the 'options only' $11 to get things
so $11 + $24 internatiojnal shipping +$15 pinup = $50 ($26 if in the USA)

Does anyone have a list of the models that, at this point, are KS/Convention only?
I believe that, so far, they are:
All of the Messengers
Holiday Nico
Kara
Candy & Cola
Does anyone know if the "final pinup" model falls into this category as well. Jesus. This thing is going to bankrupt me. Automatically Appended Next Post: EDIT: Okay, I got it. It looks like the Twilight Witch is just like the other Pin Ups, but hte Twiligth Allison isn't. Gotta get her then. Gotcha.

The Adam & Anna models obviously. Right from the start they were KS-exclusive.
None of the Pin-Ups are exclusive (with Holiday Nico probably being the closest you get there).

Adam has said they'll be available at 'other KD events.' Not knowing what that means just makes me nervous. That's why I'm not getting any of the dudes. I don't know them from the Anime's so they don't have any special place for me.

Survivor
Flower Knight
Dragon King
Spidicules
Sunstalker
Lantern Festival
Thin man
Dragon Sacrifice
Messenger of Humanity
Twilight Witch - resin
Twilight Witch - plastic
Allison - Twilight knight
$440... I have to write it somewhere to make it real... and because I can't tell the wife until after this is over, her fault for blanket okaying it.

Final amount for my girlfriend and myself: Survivor, Flower Knight, Dung Beetle Knight, Slendy, Dragon King, Gorm, Spidicules, Sunstalker, Lantern Festival, Phoenix Dancer, Primal Huntress, Spider Silk Assassin, two Messengers of Courage (one for me, one for the girlfriend), Lantern Festival Girl, and two Allisons (again, one for me, one for my girl). $540. Holy. Crap.
There goes my miniatures budget for most of the year. Thank God it also looks like Gears of War: Judgment is going to suck, that's sixty dollars I don't have to spend on that.

If you're a ninja painter go silk and freehand on it
if you're a tabletop painter go Lantern (and this will be the most expensive to get more of after the KS too, as it comes in the game box, and the silk comes in the cheaper expansion)

So, this was my first Kickstarter and from the looks of things, it won't be my last. It looks like I am going to be very busy come November since my brother and I both went in on this and are winding up with the game and nearly all of the expansions. I think Gorm and Spidicules are the only ones we didn't get.
I'm kind of curious if we'll be getting the White Speaker seeing as it did reach $2 million, which was the stretch goal to unlock her. But there wasn't an email about unlocking her.
Also, I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the promo characters beyond the crossover ones from Soda Pop and Studio McVey. I love that the messengers are all based on characters from other stuff, kind of like what McVey did with Sedition Wars. Only this one has Link, Ayla from Chrono Trigger, Kamina from Gurren Lagaan, and Guts from Berserk.
42144
Post by: cincydooley
I think you'll find that the anime ones are lesser known than th ones in Sedition Wars. I had no idea who Ayla, kamiya, or guts were. While its getting more popular in the us, it certainly isn't as popular as, say, Aliens.
68139
Post by: Barzam
You're probably right. Ayla, assuming that is who she's based on, is fairly obscure. Gurren Lagaan was pretty popular though. That being said though, I didn't realize it was him until just this afternoon. I'm really not surprised about Guts though. It was stated somewhere that Berserk was a big influence for Adam. Judging by those other promo figures, I'd venture a guess that he's a fan of old Super Nintendo games and Gurren Lagaan as well.

Given the overall bleakness of the background, I'm not surprised Poots is a fan of Beserk. As one friend summed it up best;
Guts life begins being pulled from his dead mothers womb. His life goes downhill from there.
Back to Kickster, pledged enough to either get Kara, Resin Watcher and Resin Leather Girl. Or can change them to plastic and have enough for for two more plastic figs. Decisions....

All I know is Kingdom Death better be a good game. I spend more on Kingdom Death then I did on Zombicide and Sedition Wars combined. Zombicide was a huge hit with my board game group. Verdict is still out on Sedition Wars since haven't received it yet.

That's what did me in. I finally snagged a BF survivor yesterday but ended up backing out of it with 2-3 hours to go. I realized late last night that it wasn't sitting well with me spending 400+ on a game (and expansions for it) that I knew I'd never play.
Watching the second video with it's estimate of 2-3 hours a turn, and 15-20 turns per game. It's not something I even have any hope of ever getting anyone to do with me. I think it was watching the Rivet Wars gameplay video where they play a whole game in ~45 mins (while stopping to explain a lot). "That's something I have a chance of getting someone to try," I thought.
So I ended up dropping from $431 to 200 something and just choosing from among my favorite models/exclusives.
Though in the last few hours it went up close enough to 300 that I just pledged $300 to get the freebies to sell. (Damn you lonely tree!)

I got 5 King's Men and the Dragon King expansion (since it was only slightly more than the armor), both because the models remind me of Wayne Barlowe's artwork. Also, I guess I'm getting a couple of freebies, which is nice.

I thought he said that the Savior did have an in-game use? Something about survivors having a small chance to being born a savior, which had special powers.
Plus the Twilight Knight and White Speaker might not have a use for Kingdom Death: Monster, but what about Kingdom Death: Hero? I'd hang on to them just in case.

Zombicide is a great game and I wish I'd got in on the kickstarter :(
For this, I dropped my pledge at the $1.8M mark as I only really wanted one limited edition and was buying the rest just because they were limited, and was put off by the shipping. Had I been about when the white speaker was added I'd probably have re-pledged. Ah well.

Not for the Resin Explorer pledge. If it is, I'll re-allocate or save it all by getting it shipped to a U.S. Address. But check the "below-Game" pledges on the Kickstarter or the Death-Toll. They are lower.

As a long time KD fan I'm not overly bothered if my gaming group doesn't like the game, I get nearly 100 KD minis to paint, model and be grossed out by! Heres my miniatures budget blown for about 6months
129.00 - BF Survivor
+25.00 - Dung Beetle Knight Expansion
+30.00 - Dragon King Expansion
+15.00 - Flower Knight Expansion
+45.00 - Lantern Festival Expansion
+00.00 - Lion Knight Expansion

+40.00 - Gorm Expansion
+40.00 - Spidicules Expansion
+15.00 - Allison the Twilight Knight
+00.00 - Green Knight Armor
+15.00 - Messenger of Humanity
+15.00 - Messenger of the spiral path
+45.00 - Int'l shipping
$464 Total
I originally wasn't going to go with Gorm or Dung, but the Green Knight armour persuaded me to go for them (I don't like the Dung Bettle knight, but the ball is cool!). Still debating on what else I could change them for - I don't like the Sunstalker so that's out, any ideas? I dropped the bases too since hopefully they will be on sale normally via KD website later on.
for nearly 100 minis I think my pledge works out around £3 a model - £3 for a KD model, hells yes!

That was one hell of a final day!
Hard to believe that some relatively obscure Anime inspired character models could whip everyone into a frenzy, but apparently they helped!
Of course, the Lonely Tree and Slender Man had a bit to do with it too.
I'm excited to get this game and dive in, and to see where this successful launch takes the KD game going forward.
The potential for expansions is almost limitless, as is the potential for other games set in the same world!

That is a great cost-per-model, KoganStyle, assuming he can deliver on the material. I really hope these models don't look like Zombiecide's! What people are expecting (and paying for) is far, far better.
Also, I put the money I would have pledged into a current game ( DzC) and a soon-to-be-purchased airbrush with my several months of hobby budget, as you mention! I have a pile to paint already and don't need a large number of new minis for a board game (not much of a board gamer) unless they could be used for some other skirmish game, which these couldn't be for me. In all fairness, niche anime/manga tends to to be fairly close to RPGs and miniature gaming as far as commonly regarded 'nerdy' pass-times are concerned. Especially something like Berserk, which is somewhat iconic amoung the medium.
What's more, Chrono Trigger has one hell of a reputation as far as classic videogames are concerned. I didn't have the good sense to be born in time to appreciate the era of the Super Nintendo, but for those who managed to, Chrono Trigger was probably one of their very first, and most impacting RPGs. And I don't think I even need to make a proper statement to account for The Legend of Zelda.
The potential for expansions is almost limitless, as is the potential for other games set in the same world!
Hell, I'd argue that there's also the possibility for a lot of homebrew. The rules for monsters look like they're a solid framework to fit just about anything in. Imagine if KD were to start a community page where users could create and share their own custom monsters/expansions built on the KD:M ruleset? Hell, they could even take the best ones and turn them into official expansions.
On other note, with the Kickstarter good and most certainly done, what will happen to Kingdom Death between now and November? Will Poots and crew lay low for the better part of the year, while putting all the pieces together, or will they continue to release new models in their original line of miniatures throughout the year? I really do hope for the latter to be possible, even if at a slower pace.
9594
Post by: RiTides
Homebrew monsters is a cool idea, but I doubt Adam would take the ideas onboard- he's got a very specific vision for his world, I think (although clearly willing to diverge a bit for promo / $$$-making figures ).
But for "canon" I don't see him taking fan monsters, but as a "living-rulebook-esque" idea (a la the old Bloodbowl rules) I think that'd be awesome. Possibly cheaper, too

This-100% this. I'm not shocked to see a Chrono Trigger shout out here. Much like KD if you don't set up within the first 10 game minutes a specific event then half way through the game.....
It feels like KD and how it plays.

Well, using making anything from fan expansions canon is obviously one hell of a stretch, especially with Adam keeping a firm grasp on the integrity of his world (which is something I admire, and hope to do with my future works). But I'd still like to see a homebrew community develop, this game looks to have some serious potential for it.

Spot on Fafnir!
And due to the overwhelming success of this Kickstarter, I think Adam and Co. will actually be spending most of their time trying to deliver everything from this project.
He's got high quality standards, which is good for all of us of course, but which may make even hitting that November ship date a challenge!

I asked him this question, and he said that most of the work will go to finalize the game, the partners and taking care of KS business. But he said that his intentions are to still continue to produce and release a few miniatures between now and "November". Honestly, releasing miniatures in his world shouldn't be too difficult, not considering the amazing talent he has got working with him (Allan Carrasco, Thomas David, etc.). He could easily give them quite the freedom and they'd nail it. Of course, he doesn't really need to do it, but there will be a huge market from between now and November for his range. He could easily make a lot of more money by re-stocking, re-selling and getting new miniatures out there. But, again, I think that he will be more than occupied with the fullfillment of his KS (and possibly getting ready to start his "Heroes" game).

Hey now, let's give Zombiecide it's due. For a straight boardgame (which is what it is) I think it's miniatures are perhaps best in industry. One could make the argument for something like Super Dungeon Explore or perhaps even Gears of War, but as traditional board games with miniatures goes, Zombiecides are quite nice.
I don't expect that we'll be disappointed as long as they get the correct plastic to cast in. I have a feeling Mr. Poots will be doing some talking with the McVey's and SodaPop about this, and I bet we'll get a better feeling for what these new plastics can do once all of us get our grubby little paws on Sedition Wars over the next week or so.

I had to bite on this, all the giant awesome monsters and Cooperative gameplay! I picked up a BF1 survivor and all the expansions and some messengers, but even if the gameplay ends up being less than ideal I'm sure with the heavy discount Adam gave us I could easily get my money back with fee-bay .

Post by: Bulkoth
The only way I see it not being in impossibly high demand is if Adam can't work out a good plastic solution and the minis are sub par. I don't think that will happen, I doubled my money when I decided Zombicide was not for me. The ability to play this with 1-6 players and allowing survivors to drop in and out of a settlement without hurting the others makes it alot easier to organize and with all the expansions a VERY long campaign is feasible.

Post by: Hulksmash
I was going to go in for over $300 myself till I realized I wasn't going to be able to get anyone locally to play this and that I wasn't even sure the gameplay was for me. So I dropped to about half that and wound up with a total of 13 miniatures that should be gorgeous. But honestly it was Kara and Guts who pushed me over the line even that far. Though both twilight knights and the white speaker look amazing.

Hulk, one of the things I liked about the base game is that you can play a settlement solo and it seemed like a good time. I am a little worried the game might suffer from Arkham Horror syndrome wiht 3 phases and tons of cards for each phase and resources and equipment etc I hope Adam takes some time to consider how the box will be used after all the minis are unpacked.

So I've currently only gone in for the models (kara, beyond the wall and the twilight knights) as I was not sure about the game but loved the sculpts, now here's the thing, the more I reAd the more I think actually I could be willing to blow a lot of cash on this. Sirius42, sadly it has already been confirmed there will NOT be an option to add funds after the Kick Starter. You could probably move $155 of your options to get a survivor pledge. Most of the pinups and resin minis will be on general release later and the pinups discount is much less than the game and expansions.

Sirius, yea, Kingdom Death being a 1 man operation really made organization very rough but I think he did his best and the community had some tools around to help figure out pledge values. The game will be available at a later date and so will the expansions. You'd just have to wait for after the Kick Starter fulfillment, which you'd have to sort of wait for either way. Can't hurt to send Adam an email to see, and maybe watch Ebay if that doesn't work.

Due to the herald rewards i would expect to see a lot of kd stuff go straight on ebay once it arrives.
My pledge came to 205 so i added a second game box to hit herald whilst taking some of the sting out of the price, id be suprised if others havent done the same. I may change the sceond game to some limited edition stuff if it sounds like there is more demand for that.

Right with you here. I don't expect my wife to have much interest in this, but I actually like doing some solo boardgaming here and there. Relieves the stress on my eyes of videogaming, for sure but it also had that tactile aspect that seems to be getting further lost. We're humans. We like to touch stuff and move stuff around and investigate stuff. I've had a lot of fun playing D-Day Dice solo recently, so I'm all in for this a solo game.

I just wanted to say that, for as whiny and critical as we can be here at Dakka, I just went and browsed the Forums at BGG and man....we can't hold a candle to those folks. Yikes.

Dakka's primary concern is usually the miniatures and the aesthetics of the pieces rather than the gameplay (after all, look at how many 40k players exist).
BGG's main concern is the gameplay, and there haven't been many gameplay videos highlighting exactly and specifically what the rules are.
Thankfully, my interests align with Dakka. Even if the game is mediocre, I'll have tons of pretty miniatures.

The difference between BGG and DakkaDakka is that BGG was mainly concerned with actual gameplay while DakkaDakka is more concerened with the models.
In the end I think it was a combination of BGG and my overall mehness about the models that made me drop my pledge. I do have to admit though I do seem to be in the vast minority when I say the models didn't do much for me.

Kingdom Death: Hero is a very long way out I will cross that bridge when we get to it. I have read a bit on kingdomdeath.com where he has descriptions about the Hero's and their abilities and it may be a game I actually sit out on. I love the idea of Survival Horror the hero aspect removes the bottom of the food chain idea.
Alas I have very little interest in pin up models and the savior is a model I just do not like at all. With all of the extra armor kits and heads I will make my own Savior if I ever get one for my settlement.
The Twilight Knight is cool looking but not something I would ever display in my case or have commissioned to be painted so it will go up for sale. (Most likely I will try to trade them to reduce the cost of hiring a commission painter) If I do sell them all funds will go toward having someone paint everything else.

I agree that not all the minis were spot on my style. I love some of them like Dragon King, King's Hand, etc, I nearly didn't buy Gorm because I really am not a fan but I'm primarily a gamer even tho I enoy painting etc so I'm banking on the gameplay being solid but like it's been stated BGG is trying to discuss a small amount of info to extrapolate balance, it just can't work.

That is a little odd but what incentive do people have to buy the game if they can grab the rules online and play with their own minis without buying in. I mean with 11+ months until release of the game another company could easily rush developement on a knockoff and beat him to market.

They still could, there isn't much he can protect other then actual art...
If this wasn't the case then every board game company wouldn't have a deck builder.

If I had a few guesses:
1. He doesn't have the rules in a "presentable" format. He probably has them in a word file or something like that and, in order to make them look appropriate for distribution, there's probably some work to be done on them
2. The rules sound like they're still in a relatively alpha format. And with the game 11 months away, I think thats perfectly reasonable.
3. I don't think his concerns are in complete regard to the game mechanics, but making sure the other IP related issues are ironed out before he gives anything out elsewhere. Perhaps he even has concern that he may have something that has IP implications. Just speculation, but that portion doesn't concern me at all.
4. The BGG crowd isn't talking about playtesting, testing groups, etc, because they're being altruistic. They're talking about it because they want in on it. Let's not get that twisted.
5. For many of the BGG folks, they've got huge concerns about any kind of miniatures at all. These are the same folks that, IIRC, complained heartily because they had to glue the Battles of Westeros models into their bases. Attaching an arm to something is far beyond the scope of some of them, and I'd wager many that are interested in the game only would prefer if there were just cardboard tokens.
Regardless, the sense of entitlement there is quite substantial . Makes us look like an easy to please crowd.

In bullet point form:
• they believe the author(s)/etc. deserve support (in fact, many models work around this model, for instance, many webcomics, Infinity (skirmish), and Dominion (cards))
• they enjoy the aesthetics (for instance, the Malifaux rules are available for free in a truncated form missing the art)
• they enjoy background (typically stripped from rules only versions)
• the bought form is more convenient (esp. in card and counter-heavy games)
• they like the models (aesthetic and/or execution)-- Malifaux has actually released an official and free Vassal module for their game, so they seem pretty confident about it
• if all they wanted were the game mechanics, there are a ton of video/computer games that probably do something relatively similar to this, but much more flexibly and efficiently (this was what initially made me hesitate to back, before I was sold on the minis)

I think it odd that you and I had the exact opposite reaction to the BBG forums on this game. I read all of the info in these two links and it sold me on both the gameplay and and how expandable the game is meant to be. I love the liquid/organic aspect to the battles and story. Strange, just strange.

On the other hand, Mantic's Dreadball did release the rules early, and it hasn't caused any lack of interest as far as I can tell. Possibly the opposite.

For curiosity's sake, what was the turn around time between when Mantic released their rules early, and when backers got their games? Alternatively, when was dreadball released in comparison to when the rules were released early. I don't doubt that Mantic has been drumming up interest that way, On the Lamb is going the same with Endless, to the point that by the time the rewards have been sent out, backers will have a complete pdf ruleset (of course this was part of the reward levels). But I think the important thing to note about KD:M is that this is almost a year away... someone could easily "scoop" Poots on a similar ruleset and release something earlier.

Dreadball's rules were out during the Kickstarter, and the games shipped about 2 months later.

Okay, didn't think it was that long of a time period. far less time for someone to "copy" the rules and release it as their own thing with tweaks of course. I don't see this happening to Adam, but a year is a long time.

I am ok with the game not being done since it's a complete package and he started out going "i need 11 months to get this out the door" the goal of a KS tends to be to fund the making of something, I'm less a fan of it being used entirely as a preorder platform.

My only concern for the game play is how scalable it is for different numbers of players. He said it would be 1-4 players, I just hope that it is not too steep of a challenge with less players.
I still pledged for 365, got most of the expansions and two of the messengers, so I'm in this one, just hoping that me and my girlfriend can play this one alone if we need to =)

Yea I'd love to get in on this, I just wasn't able to during the KS (backed another instead with most of my $). That and to be honest, the stretch goals never got updated often on the front page, so it was like 5 hours left before I actually clicked on the Updates section and saw all the other stuff. I may have been swayed if I had a bit more time to figure it out. I guess it's my fault.
Oh well, the vast majority of it will be in stores at some point so I'm not too worried.

That's what I'm planning.
Part of my trepidation was curbed by the ability to play solo. Ideally, I'd be playing with at least one other person but that won't always be feasible so I'll probably end up playing by myself some nights.

Just a quick update : 1 - I should have access to the money in about 3 weeks. Right now its im magical amazon / kickstarter land. 2 - I'll be mostly off this week, resting up. ( i got sick on the final day! ;_; ) 3 - As progress is made I'll be keeping everyone updated. @Kineticmedic , i have no idea what your talking about. Official Forums - not yet, anna might be joining the project full time now that it can afford her. she is a badass backend developer so we might maybe do something custom to KDM, but i need time to think about it. Shipping - this is easily 400k in shipping fees. how much does that suck eh? sick - yeah i was pushing myself pretty hard, thankfully i avoided getting really sick so far, sheer will / luck i think!

@Ryan Thompson, dunno yet. i wont have a firm date / availability of anything kickstarted until were pretty close to backer fulfillment. i most likley wont be posting details until after that is over. i honestly see no benefit in rushing this to the market place, we kickstarted this together and thus we will be the first to receive it. i don't want to dilute the backer experience or add the complications that establishing distro / retail arrangements during these final creation and production phases. essentially : backers come first. the rest of the world sits on the side for now.

You certainly can Patent game mechanics (or attempt to.) At least you can in the U.S. Game mechanics are Intellectual Property in the same way characters, lyrics, or Coke's secret formula are.
Famously, Magic: the Gathering patented several game mechanics, including "tapping" cards. This patent forced games like Legend of the Five Rings to call card toggling "bowing" the card. There was a rumor at the time that even this required a licensing fee from Wizards of the Coast.

So, that averages out at $74 in shipping per backer. Presumably that includes materials etc. as well. That's probably....pretty accurate actually, ouch.
I snuck back in on the last day with a sad little pledge to get the exclusive survivors and a few of the semi-exclusives. Which actually makes this the worst mini/$ KS I've backed so far.
Looking forward to seeing where Adam takes this whole thing.

Yes it's easy to forget about the packing materials,
as if you're clever you can always scrounge up enough cardboard/bubble wrap/packing peanuts to wrap anything you want to post
but scrounging up enough stuff for 5000+ packages, nope that's not going to work
(Hope Adam can arrange a bulk discount!)

Well, USPS flat rates (which probably make the most sense, esp. given slightly varying weights on thousands of packages) have free packaging (rather, it's included in the cost of shipping)

Throughout the KS Adam has seemed to have a very good hold on funds. He certainly isn't expecting to get rich from this, in fact I think I remember an early post (maybe the KS page?) saying he hoped to be able to pay himself basic wage! Either way with so many backers and so many products to produce I can't imagine the net profit will be more than a few percent.
I would be interested in seeing a total breakdown from a miniatures kickstarter though, just to see how much we (backers) underestimate costs.

That is good, and you are right, it shows how fast money gets eaten up with things people don't consider. But that won't stop people from complaining about how the KS is being run a few months ago and how come that can't do X, Y, and Z since they got all that money.

I know Adam Poots isn't getting rich from this.... the average Joe has no idea about all the hidden cost .... like how much those pin-ups from Lokmanlam cost, even fonts cost... if the 3D Artist used certain programs You need to pay a licensing fee (usually once) , I mean all this stuff adds up...
Its funny how people are.... Mr. Poots is giving the fans /backers one helleva awesome deal. Tons of minis....
I think people expect too much. The saving grace for Mr.Poots is now he has a little breathing room and a nice starting lineup for a very expandable system. Any one thinking he's walking away a millionaire is an idiot. He'll be able to get his company up n running to a higher degree and support himself while he does it. But this thing didn't make him rich... I love how some folks think everything is free... or the have some twisted idea of how things work in the real world.

Yes, people hear something costs X amount to make in materials and want it sold at that price, nevermind design, warehousing, accounting, shipping, etc that makes it cost much more.
Adam will likely be a millionaire at some point though. If he can sell 4000 copies of a game (conservative estimate) sight unseen, imagine what he'll be able to move once the product is on the shelves...

There is just NO way that is gonna happen between the extra freebies he tossed in, all the plastic etc in the base box, and the fact that the average pledge being over $300 means that the average pledger spent over $150 on extras, these boxes are going to be all over the map size wise.
Adam said during the KS that he HOPES when it's all said and done he can pay himself minimum wage for the >3 years he will have worked on KS by the time it ships. at 7.25 in NY that is not a large amount of profit, but I agree with Krinsath in as much as Adam might have problems keeping this game in stock after it's out in the market.

Agreed with Bulkoth. I just can't see any possible way this thing is fitting in the largest of the Priority Mail Flate rates. The largest flat rate box is 12" x 12" x 5 1/2" on the inside. For comparison purposes, the box for Super Dungeon Explore is 13 x 4 x 13 inches and the box for Zombiecide is 12.2 x 12.2 x 4.2 inches. Simply put, I just dont think its happening.

Reaper pricing from their KS and China price used by CMON has made the miniature section from KS goes by the inception of being more funds = should give freebies.
It's a terrible norm people if backers expect those to be happen. Adam doesn't have diversification of miniature business like how Reaper and CMON does, so he should be charging a higher price to compensate with the factor of risk involved with his business.
Though even I have a greedy side to expect more free stuff, I would rather pay a bit of premium if it's going to extend the survivability of top quality producing miniatures like KD. Remember how hobbyist cried when Rackham died? It will be a sad thing, at least I know I would.
The problem for dealing this would be transparency on the allocation of funds being used. This would give an insight to backers things are not as beautiful as they thought.
Adam mentioned that he would share the total shipping fee and how much he ate the prices for backers. If he could do that, it would be a changing start in miniature section of KS

With some 5000 (give or take) box games + extras to ship, I think he's got options in terms of working with UPS or USPS or etc. in order to negotiate a reduced shipping rate in return for giving them that much volume.

I'm not sure USPS would consider if it's only a one time deal, usually business do a long term contract for such incentives. Who knows, but I hope he could get it.
Another possibilities that CMON being kind enough to offer a helping hand on that. It's would be a great PR for them to help an indie company.

According to USPS' website you start to qualify for Business mail/Bulk mail at 200 First classpackages or 500 Standard packages.
Either way I would bet if he took a quote from USPS and one from UPS to each other they'd try to make a better deal for him.
He has talked about using CMON for fulfillment but isn't far enough in the process to make any of that solid.

I mean, I'd personally be fine if Adam simply partnered with CMON to do the shipping, fulfillment, and even utilize the CKPM. Their CKPM is fantastic, works well, and is easy to navigate.
I know there are others that are less excited about that prospect, but I'm all about it.

Luckily for us cincy Adam doesnt seem to care what others think and is running his business how he feels best. As can be seen in alot of the minis, even the non pinup ones have some stuff that others are less than excited about.

Right on. I think logisically working with CMON just "makes sense." Utilize their infrastructure and their shipping discounts, etc. I have confidence this will be handled with the utmost professionalism, so I'm not really concerned.
On the box: I'm guessing it'll be pretty similar in size to the new FFG boxes, around 13 x 13 x 6. Pretty standard board game size.

If someone ordered all of the game expansions, I don't know if they'd all fit in that box with the 'original game' + various pinups and what-nots!
Partnering up with CMON for order fulfillment is sounding a bit better all the time...

No kidding. I imagine everyone that is all in for every expansion (this is not me) is going to be looking at a 15-20lb box that takes up some serious real estate.

I'm missing out on a few expansions, and I'd love to have gotten the tree, but it just wasn't in the budget right now. Still, I'll likely put more money down after the fact when it's released.
To sidetrack the current conversation and since my search skills are naff, do we know when we'll get the survey for our options? Will that be closer to full release?

My guess is the Survey will come out pretty soon after Adam gets the money and our email addresses etc
Since his production runs are going to be pretty much stuffed it'll be important for him to know how much of each thing to have cast or printed so stuff can be scheduled efficiently
since it takes about 3 weeks now for Amazon/KS to do their bit i'd anticipate the survey 3-4 weeks after the KS ended,
and (again a guess) Adam will probably want it in reletively fast so 2-4 weeks to complete it?

He also might be waiting to get an official "what there is" picture together as last I looked there was only a fan one.

I don't know, did he?
Seems to me that he might want to know how many of each thing (roughly) he needed before making them, especially given his recently stated intentions to fulfill all backers orders first before even thinking about retail releases.

He could just jack up production knowing he will have to fulfill all the Kickstarters and fill all the retail boxes, and his website. Not to mention people who didn't get the expansions who might buy them later at a retail outlet.

He could do that, sure.

Indeed, nothing goes on sale until all pledges have been fulfilled.

Post by: JudgeShamgar
I meant that he could just start producing the models he knows will be in the retail box set and fulfill the Kickstarter pledges with them and if there are extras made they would then go into a retail box for sale after the Kickstarter pledges are shipped. So all the armors in the box set, the survivors, and the monsters could be in production now with any that don't go into Kickstarter boxes put into retail packages.

Not yet, but soon I hear, rumor has it march is the new November . Back ot, in reference to my previous post, I know Adam has said he will sort out issues such as order mistakes when the time is right, but has he put any kind of timescale to that?

Patience....
this was a huge task for him. Give the guy a chance to breathe.
You know.... the economics analysis that takes place in this hobby is astounding. I've never in any other Hobby-mind you Hobby- see so much of this sort of thing....
People worried about shipping cost.... wanting to know what his costs are and this wanting transparency of his business arrangements..... that's 100% none of our business .... only mini war gamers are like this. That poor guys kickstarter just ended.... here come the worry warts, nit pickers and nay sayers ..
I said it after zombicide and ill say it again if you pledged just wait.... he'll get it all worked out.... he was clever enough to gain your confidence to give him your money 10 months ahead of time... I'm sure he's confident enough to handle the rest. I'm sure you'll be able to fix mistakes upgrade your pledge etc... I'm sure he can figure out shipping.
I'm also sure its not my business how he spends my 155.00 as long as I get what's promised. The audacity of some people in this hobby is worthy of ridicule.
Pledge and be patient or get an ulcer doing math problems hitting the fed ex site for rates sweating the algorithm of it all for 10 months. It's not one person either just a general thing I see over n over. Zombicide, Sedition wars, now Monster. Maybe I'm just too suave to fret like a teenage girl. Stay cool fellas. By Halloween you'll be up to your nipples in tentacle horror oddness and monster hunter-esque armor and weapons.
I Love all of you. I just want my fellow gamers to let their inner snoop dog come out instead of Sheldon

We don't lack confidence. We're just eager to get our pledge info sorted out so we can forget about this until November. After Poots gets those pledge forms done, he's basically done with us until he is ready to ship something.

Exactly this, we want the forms so we can get it signed sealed and set, those of us with mistakes want to get it all ironed out then, then everyone knows what they're getting and the waiting can begin. (Incidentally in my specific case I've just found out that I could be offshore for upto a month starting next Friday with no internet, so I'd like to have it sorted before I go)

Let us all see your paycheck stubs n bill recipients first..... then you can peek at my business arrangements., that is if you don't mind showing the world you personal assets info first.
Give him 2 weeks to get a rest n get it airtight. I'm sure it'll be here soon enough.... Automatically Appended Next Post: I'm wondering who ill get to play that'll stay for the long haul of a campaign.... man that system Seems deep...

He's finding a possible way to make an amendment options for those who underpledge or those having a special case unable to go through with their cc. Though he does not guarantee it.
So I think the forms won't be out until he had sort those out.

Post by: NoseGoblin
Having run one, I can tell you that you may be in for a bit of a wait? Of course my experience may not be typical but there are steps to the process... For the next week or two Amazon Payment will be chasing down the backers that had problems with their charges going through. Adam will have a tough time until he has a firm list of those backers who cannot fulfill their pledge for whatever reason.
If he has a pledge manager pre built, there will still need to be last minuet coding to add any late changes to the KS offerings, then he will need to test the pledge manager, then a full release to the backers. How long this takes depends on his relationship with CMON, If they are giving him a hand with the survey and lending their manpower and expertise then thing may get rolling a little faster.
All I am saying is that you need to be patient, If his hurdles are anything like mine it will take about a month after the KS close to wrap all that up.
Cheer everyone and congrats on a great KS!

Since the kickstarter has ended, I have pretty much been sleeping!
The campaign experience was intense.
Amazon is collecting all the funds from the backers and then will transfer it to me. From what I know, the process takes about 2 weeks and then another week to transfer the funds to a bank account where I can finally have access to it. The 3 week holding pattern seems a little punishing... but I am actually a little bit thankful! It's allowed for some much needed rest and to start making plans / lining up schedules before everything explodes into insanity again.
Before I go any further, I am giving a quick shout on behalf of Carlos B. Garcia. He is a close personal friend of Juan Navarro Perez whom has been a fantastic part of the Kingdom Death Sculpting Team. Juan is responsible for the Lion Knight & Court and I am super excited to continue our partnership.
Anima : Gate of Memories - 18 hours left!
if your interested in a game based in the Anima world now would be a great time to jump on board! I've backed them up and I am excited to see what they can produce with the funds they've raised. It makes me happy to see our little miniature game community attempting new projects.
Anyway!
A lot of people have been asking all sorts of questions in regards to the pledge manager, here is some official information :
Pledge Manager
We will collect information on your shipping details and rewards in the later this year. It will be at a time that is most convienent for us and allow everyone some time to finalize everything before a certain cut off date so we can ensure the production of units and eventually fulfillment.
There will be a way for to handle / accommodate special circumstance cases in regards to their pledge total. However at this time I do not know if we will be allowing pledge total modification for everyone. It's honestly a huge logistical pain and would require us to build a pretty comprehensive piece of software in order to handle everything.
Please... please do not write me to explain the pro's and con's of allowing general pledge modification. I beg of you! lol
I do apologize that this wasn't a very exciting update. I mostly just wanted to reach out and say thank you one last time.
Because now all the work begins!
Oh, last minute update: Jon-Troy has sent me some nice renders of the Lioness, ( the lion armor pinup ) and I thought I would share them with you.

Well, what can you say really? Survey will go out late in the year "at a time that is most convenient" to them, and he's still hedging his bets about whether or not he'll let "everyone" adjust their pledge totals. And apparently he's been sleeping for a week
Better email yourself what you were planning to get, you'll never remember a half year from now!
