Snap, went back to a level 30ish double destro caster Khajit I had been playing.
Had forgotten how fun and big the game was.
Finished the Foresaken questline in Markath, great stuff.
I pulled up a lvl 50 redguard warrior today. Hadn't touched him since the Vamp DLC came out. Think he caught my interest again. Gonna take him to Solthsteim.
I had a buddy that did that, except he was playing on some kind of progression server that had none of the expansions and they unlocked over time, or something. I'll admit that I didn't play EQ much (lv 50 wizard or something... maybe), but could never see going back to such a game myself
After all of this crazy space/missile/etc stuff I think I'm gonna have to load up FTL yet again. Still need the crystal cruiser and some of the achievements
Just finished a marathon pace play through of Civ5, it's been a good long while since I actually finished one. Small Continents with the Brits, loads of fun. Brit naval move bonus, plus Ships of the Line, plus great lighthouse, plus the Commerce thing that gives you extra move = total naval domination.
Yes, yes it has. I still make it a point to do something in Fallout 1, 2 and tactics every year.
Been mostly playing Divinity: Dragon Commander and loving it!
Occasional bout of Red Alert 3 co-op with Dakka's favourite drunk.
Aaaaand... I just bought at least 6 Armored Core games (playstation 1 and 2) So I will be doing lots of that, thinking about actually streaming those, I have an HD PVR anyway. Though if I do, I kind of want to do them chronologically, and that involves getting Project Phantasma and Master of Arena, for a good price, in PAL format....

I was actually thinking about pulling out AC: Last Raven a couple days ago. I still haven't gotten all the different endings on that
Hey if you played the series with maximum paragon levels barely anyone will die. That's not to say that certain people won't, though the only ones who will die are those who do in all versions. I was really confused at the time when my friends were griping over certain characters copping it in their versions, whilst in mine they lived happily ever after. ...Though uh, I was a little miffed about one character that only lives if you've made pretty poor decisions through the series. *sniffles

It's not really about paragon or renegade but rather how much time you've put into the series and game. Doing missions in the right order and whatnot.

If you do, please, PLEASE devote at least a couple half-hours (or hours) to customization, trying out odd/different Cores than you usually do, that sort of thing.
Every single AC series I've seen is always "This is the Core I know- it uses Sniper Rifles and flies really fast" and then just beat the game. Do something odd.
Also, do you have stream libraries where I could watch stuff after the fact? I don't really do streams that much.

And occasionally it's something really innocuous, like the single dialogue option I didn't choose when talking to Kelly Chambers in the refugee camp that, resulted in, well... something getting caught in my eye. *cough*
GrimDork wrote: Indeed. You must suffer through at least one level per game with tank legs
I find that tank legs are only good for one thing - fighting other Ravens. I was having a helluva of time trying to out-manuever an enemy, so I decided to slap on some tank legs, heavy core/arms, and grenade launchers/missiles...stayed in one place, and when he attempted to fly around, I rained missiles on him. When he tried to get close, he got bombarded with grenades and machine gun fire. It was sooo much easier that way!
Sounds like a thing to do. You basically give up everything that makes piloting an armored core cool, in exchange for the capacity for heavier gear. Sometimes those arena matches get rough though, gotta do what it takes.
I preferred the lightweight legs and bits so you could practically fly, and then the multiple missile system. Why shoot one missile when you can shoot six to a dozen!
Got a little dicey on longer missions, indoors especially, but so much fun flying all over the place raining destruction!

Of course you can, its Mass Effect. There's only a few characters who actually have to die as far as the story goes, the rest have fates tied to your choices, or lack of them. It does annoy me that that one character though only lives if you made a complete mess of the series up to that point though.
Spoiler:
Oh and I'm talking about Anderson. Damn I was annoyed when he died at the end. =(

Spoiler:
how do you save Chambers and Anderson? I know you can't save Anderson by doing well. I'm pretty sure there's no way to save Anderson...
1. In ME2, after the Collectors kidnap everyone, if you don't go through the Omega relay immediately then Kelly dies when you find the crew (she's the one getting dissolved). If you do go through immediately, you do rescue her.
2. When you meet her in ME3 in the refugee camp you talk to her for a bit, and there's one dialogue option telling her to change her name. If you select that you find her after the Cerberus attack, and she's changed her name and managed to escape the death squads.
Of course that dialogue option is presented in the usual 'renegade' spot, and as I'm playing an almost 100% pure paragon character I didn't select it.

I don't remember getting that option but who knows maybe I did. There's so many permutations on how the story can go.
Grimdork, anvil. I always try at least one of each type.
As for favorites, I always tend to stick with medium weight reverse joints... there's something great about jumping onto huge buildings without using any boosters.
As for the stream, will most likely be cutting the recordings and throwing them on youtube afterwards.

I have to disagree with you there. As much as I loved my medium/light weight AC's, I thought the heavies were plenty of fun. Switching out the high speed, for pure destruction can be super entertaining - especially in levels filled with building that can be destroyed.
If I play again sometime I will try out the tank legs. The fat legs I've used a bit. Different play through, different style or I'm just giving in to gainless nostalgia

Well, tank legs in the old games also allowed you to use folded back weapons while moving and flying. There's nothing like having 4 grenade cannons.

You can save Kelly in ME2 by going after the Collectors as soon as you can, whereas you'll save her in ME3 by telling her to leave (I can't remember, check the wiki =P). In the case of Anderson I've been told that he'll live if you had very low galactic readiness and if a load of characters died. Him living is something I never bothered to confirm though, but if that's true I'd be really off that only the fethups were able to save such a great character. =/

Replaying ME1 is always fun if you managed to unlock a weapon or ability in your previous playthrough(s). Pure tech guy with a sniper rifle? woot. Soldier with the push or throw thingie? sweet! And big points for femshep.
Finished Saint's Row the Third.
Having not played the first two, I think people whine too much.
That game was funny and I am really looking forward to the next.
I've put about 10 hours into Pokemon White so far...forgot how entertaining these games can be. But I don't remember having to grind so much! Seems like the fights in White/Black are way harder.

After playing ME2 I can't ever play ME1 again. The shooting elements are so "RPG-skill dependent" it's silly. Is ME3 that good? I have ME3 for the longest time but I still haven't gathered the courage to finish my ME2 playthrough... I lost my previous save with my awesome Jeska and I'm still trying to gather up the courage to finish it again and start ME3.
(I even bought the "comic book" DLC so I could skip ME1 entirely )

They are, up until a certain point. I had to make sure that by the time I entered a new gym city, I had x pokemon of at least y level not including my starter that had a nice lion's share of the experience.
Currently playing Minecraft, and I'm working on my next "big" project right now.
Just completed Max Payne 2. Having only ever played the first in the series I'm kind of blown away by how good the writing and gameplay are. For a game made eight years ago its set the bar pretty high for game from that era, as well as making me think that more modern games really could do better.
On ME3. Its...pretty damn good.Overall it feels like ME2, but with more polish. I did play it through tinted glasses having spent so much time into the series, but those who have played the previous two will get a lot out of it. Just... make sure you've done everything the way you wanted in the previous games beforehand. For me its the kind of game you play once every couple of years, just due to how everything wraps up. I don't think I could emotionally invest myself into replaying it soon after completing it as well, the game makes you feel content about the choices you've made ...and a lot of the character development won't have the same effect on you if you already know what's going to happen.
As for ME1. I replayed the entire series before 3 just to make sure I was ok about how the story was going until then. The comic book DLC covers the main plot points, but misses out on the smaller ones. So if you want the most out of the story you have to have completed the previous two to death. The little scenes or news reports about side characters really hit off on the nostalgia points, and youknow ...they're events that only those who've bothered to play the whole series see. =/
@Wyrmalla: Oh yes, I completely agree, something that makes it a pain to replay ME2 is that I'm doing the same exact thing all over again. I just like my fem-shep that way and I want to go play ME3 that way.
And yes, I agree, it was fantastic to meet certain characters from ME1, receiving mails, all that kind of neat stuff. It wasn't important but it was funny and had lots of "Hey, it's that guy!". One of my favorite ones was a certain Asari I spared but overall, I can't replay ME1. I already tried but after playing ME2, seeesh, I can't stand how "un-fluid" ME1's combat is.
Well, after I'm done with Ar Tonelico and Xcom, I guess I'll give it a try and attempt to finish my current playthrough so I can finally move on to ME3.

Max payne 2 had some hilarious moments and also some poignant ones. I love the bit about half way through when you overhear two aging mobsters discussing their retirement and there (ex)wives and kids (His kid's going to college thus escaping the mobster lifestyle), just before you round the corner to gun them down the divorced one has decided that he's going to finally make it up with his ex-wife. Long before games like Borderlands ripped it off.
The shooting also felt incredibly responsive even on the xbox pad. Considering this was a free-aim game with no over-the-shoulder view (which helps with concealing aim assist and allows for a far slower crosshair) it's actually pretty impressive.
Also this line has always been one of my favourites: Max: 'Throw the rules out the window, odds are you'll go that way too'.
Armored core/project phantasma/master of the arena. Going to work through the 3 ps1 AC games in that order. I started out with ACPP way back when it was sort of new, and so I missed out on all of the wacky human plus tricks, so I'm going to get those right off. Sure, they may be quasi-cheating, but I don't necessarily have to use them for the most part, and if the ravens in ACPP get to have them, I gotta compete somehow :p
So thanks, thread, for mauling me with this bout of nostalgia
Well, just finished XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It was cool and very good, but near the end I was starting to get a bit tired of it. Nevermind completing it 4 more times, each time starting in a different continent for the achievement.
Now I guess is Ar Tonelico, Van Helsing with a friend and gather up courage to resume my ME2 playthrough xD

Did they ever fix it so that you could invert the Y axis?
Bit more of Skyrim. After all the time i've played it, i still haven't stuck with a character up to level 50.
Hilarious thing happened though.
Mild spoilers (fans/experts only as well, i guess):
If you have played the quest 'The forsworn conspiracy' you will know it ends with a bunch of Forsworn led by their King Madanach escaping Markarth. Just before he escapes he says how he is going to go join the Forsworn in the field and make them a force to be reckoned with blahblah.
Well after his admittedly quite exciting escape from the city instance i followed him out into the Reach.
Strangely upon the scene loading he and his men put away their weapons and just started jogging. Even stranger was the fact the City Watch around the gate and stables were simply ignoring the vicious rebels who, not 5 minutes before, had killed 5 or more guards and Thonar Silverblood, a prominent Markarth resident.(His corpse was also raised, rather pointedly, by Madanach himself as a temporary ally (i am proud to say i quickly silenced the abomination, for the honour of the Silverblood family, of course, and not because Madanach had not given me ample time to frisk his corpse for gold.)
In fact One Guard, rather than give chase, thought it more important to remind me that his cousin was off fighting dragons while he stays doing guard duty(which he implied was more boring). I didn't have the heart (or in game means) to tell him that perhaps the gross negligence he was currently displaying was the reason he was not chosen for his preferred Dragon hunting.
Perplexed, i carried on escorting Madanach, hoping to deliver him to a Forsworn Outpost where perhaps i would make peace with the rebels or at least see Madanach re-united with his kin. I followed them for what seemed like forever. Madanach and his band refused to stop their peaceful jog for anything, even with several cavebears clawing at them and an encounter with a dragon. At one point i noticed Madanach was down to his last sliver of Health, Healing hands had always proven too steep a tax on my Magicka reserves so i simply hoped the Old man would persevere.
I took a moment to slyly see off Borkul the Beast who had been Lagging behind, luckily he had bore the brunt of the dragon's frost breath in the earlier encounter. He proved little challenge and did not even attempt to defend himself as i crushed his skull with my Paralysing Ebony Mace. Borkul had proved a tough adversary earlier in the quest, requiring much save scumming, i demanded to have satisfaction, he could not go unpunished.
Luckily none of the rebels noticed or protested, perhaps they were glad to see him dead, what with him being a vile Orsimer and not a true native of the Reach. Or they were simply well aware that this Dragonborn was an incredibly petty man who wore many Grudges, especially against ill-mannered Orcs.
After a time we passed the Dwarven Ruins of Bthardamz and in the distance i spied two Female Forsworn Warriors standing over the body of a horse. Just on the Border between Haafinger and the Reach.
I could've sworn Madanach sped up a smidge to meet his brethren (Sistren? Whatever....). To my surprise and perhaps horror the two Forsworn warriors did not greet him. He came on closer, he did not stop his run but he did seem to have trouble navigating the Piebald horse's Remains. Eventually one of the Forsworn did speak,
'Now you'll pay!'
She said as the other silently and with a blank-faced determintation grabbed the old man and did the Dual wield, scissor head lop Canned-animation on Madanach (You know the one from Gladiator?.) As it transpired Both were the robust 'Forsworn Pillagers' and proceeded to make short work of the rest of the prisoners with the Dragonborn a bystander.
Their bodies lay scattered in the road alongside the unfortunate Redguard peddler and her horse. They finally turned to me. Due to a favorable slope at their backs a simple Thuum blast from the dragonborn finally saw them off.
Perhaps during his time in Cidhna Mine he had lost his relevance to the Forsworn cause? Perhaps they simply found him wanting compared to the new leaders that had Arisen since his imprisonment? Maybe there faith was in the Briarhearts and the dark pacts they forged with the Hargravens? We may never know, and as his head slowly rolled, alternating its view between the Tall pines of Haafinger and the stunted Juniper of his ancestral Hold neither did poor Madanach.
Or you know, you're not s'posed to follow them out the gate.... 'Cause Skyrim is sometimes a little bit goofy.

That thing I said about ME2? Yeah, cancel that, I installed Sleeping Dogs (damn you, STEAM SALES!!!) on a whim and decided to see if it was as enjoyable as it felt when I tried the demo. Oooh man, do I love playing a badass martial artist undercover cop. The game reminds me of "True Crime: Streets of LA" and was that game good!
There's far too few games where I'm able to play as a cop and take down criminals WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE!!!

@TDL, I can't tell you how many times I finally killed the boss for FFT after 80something hours. I mean, I could have just worked on one save, maxing out classes and levels, but I started over fairly often. This time, I take all of the cool NPCs. This time, I let them give me their ubergear and then dismiss, cause my original party is cooler (if less effective). This time, everyone is a knight main class dabling only long enough to get secondaries! :p It is a shame that the tactics advance had so many wonky things going on that I couldn't get interested. I would pay top dollar for a well written lengthy FFT clone however, or if I ever tried to design a game... first thing I'd want to do.
How's PS2 treating you Soladrin? I played somewhat casually although I did reward them with a 6 mo sub. I eventually got tired of forcing myself to log in every day just to receive my capped certs. It was a good problem to have, I guess, but I don't have enough time to play and be good at a shooter atm.
Running people over with an invisible ATV though...
The discs may not be very serviceable, but I own the older AC games...somewhere, so I have no qualms emulating them on my phone for mucho ease of access. Quite pleased to finally playthrough in order though, I started at ACPP back when.

Not a clone, but it's the same genre as FFT, Strategic Role Playing Game, and my favorite game of all time. Allow me to present you, Shining Force III:

It's fun, not massively into it, just playing about an hour or so when I feel like it. Bit annoyed at how slow unlocking weapons is, and them costing almost 10 dollars is just nonsense.
@Soladrin, yeah unlocking guns is super slow. Most guns are sidegrades, although they did introduce new types and the tanks/planes really like station cash. The 6month subscription made getting upgrades for your soldiers fairly manageable, and if I were going to play all the time, I would consider it worth the cost, but no time to be any good :p
The arena portion of ACPP really makes it more fun, but AC is proving a pretty stellar game.

@TDL I may have to look into that
Yep, arena was always fun, and has always stayed fun in AC games.
Been playing all the DLC I have for Borderlands 2 currently as my commando. Haven't even beaten the main story yet and I'm level 41. Rest of the game is going to be easy mode I think.
I enjoyed Splinter cell conviction quite a bit, it's the only (stealth) game where you could get spotted and actually work it to your advantage, instead of just save-scumming (*cough*Dishonored*cough*).
Those later enemies that shared your sonar 'ping' ability can go jump off a bridge though. Absolute nightmare, albeit a deft example of turning the player expectations on their head (similar to the guys that'd blow up the Gargoyles in Arkham Asylum).
Is the co-op campaign split-screen? I may get it eventually if that's the case.
I don't know if the coop campaign is split-screen, but what I do know is that it took 49 minutes to complete the second mission--on normal, and not doing the "Ghost" playstyle.

I just started my first playthrough of it and I'm hooked. Last game I played that was similar to it was Final Liberation
Oh yes, XCOM is fantastic and I really got addicted. It was only near the end that I was starting to get tired.

I believe Sleeping Dogs is actually part of the True Crime series or at least made by the same people so that's probably why.
@Eldarain did you play Arkham asylum? How does city compare? Got the first one on steam but wasn't crazy enough about it to look too hard at what followed.
Finishing up Tomb raider revamp, liking it so far. Not the QTE moments.
The only gripe i have is that the game is too Uncharted (even the online is like uncharted), the tomb puzzles were way to easy. And the detection system was off.
And those progammers must realy hate Lara, those death scenes were nasty.

Okay so a bit more now.
"Blacklist" is to "Conviction" what "Conviction" was to "Chaos Theory".
It takes the things you love about the franchise and improves upon them--in a huge way.
Mark and Execute is a huge step up now, with the "Killing in Motion" aspect they've been touting. It is so much more useful and the fact that you can use it as the opening move in dealing with a huge pack of enemies is great.
The new mission system is very Mass Effect-y, with you choosing to take side missions before doing the main mission. You get a lot more leeway during the missions as well when you 'capture' people as part of the plotline. Execute them or spare them--it's your call.
The fact that the game is no longer split into "Run and Gun" or "Knock everyone out" is a huge plus. There are three playstyles you get graded upon--Ghost, Panther, and Assault.
Ghost is kill noone, leave no evidence you were ever there.
Panther is kill or knock out--it doesn't matter. It's the stealthy assault way of doing things.
Assault is self-explanatory. Pew pew pew!
Is the co-op campaign split-screen? I may get it eventually if that's the case.
I can now answer this with a "Yes". I had not been paying attention to the coop earlier, but I did notice the split-screen option.
Just finished Red Faction Armageddon. God that was awful. Picked it up when it was on sale on steam. Wished I'd have waited a couple of days and got Just Cause 2 instead. Meh.
Yeah im not sure what compelled them to do a full 180 from open world in Guerrilla to Tunnels in Armageddon. I couldn't even finish it. Least you got on sale! Wish I could say the same...
DA's Forever wrote: Yeah im not sure what compelled them to do a full 180 from open world in Guerrilla to Tunnels in Armageddon. I couldn't even finish it. Least you got on sale! Wish I could say the same...
It wasn't that it was linear, really. I found the aliens really boring to fight (and there was either aliens or cultists, hardly a variety of enemies), the fact that they jumped around constantly - to make them more challenging I suppose? - irritating after a while. And it was cavern after cavern of tedium. The first game had varied enough environments that it managed to make Mars interesting, even though it was linear. The story wasn't particularly bad per se, I just didn't care for the characters. And I felt bad for not caring. There's a point in the game where one of them dies, and I just like "pffff"

I agree, I'm not a huge fan of QTE's, but some of them were well placed in my opinion. And thank you! I solved all of those hiddden tomb "puzzles" in a minute or two. Kind of disappointed. Didn't care for the online.
Overall, I think it was very well done, and honestly perfered it to Uncharted.

I haven't played Armageddon yet because it had no multiplayer, something that disappointed me because the multiplayer in Guerrilla was so good - it was one of the most balanced games I've played.
AC was pretty fun, it was nice to get to unlock the 4-ish different plus upgrades and find all of the secret parts. Such things seem a bit op/unfair/dishonorable in ACPP, at least until you get into the teens in arena ranking where almost everyone has at least one plus upgrade or strong weapon from the first game. Still, going to run out of arena and the missions are going to be trivial (even if I make myself run them with joke builds like sword only or nothing but missiles etc) which leaves only AC Master of the Arena before I need something to play.
Any retro suggestions for when I'm done getting my giant robot fix (if thats even possible)?
You remember Chromehounds? Well, this is the spiritual successor to it. It's in early Alpha right now, so you can buy in (much like Minecraft) for cheap, and it's improving every month, if not every week. Kinda hard to find multiplayer matches right now, due to only having a few hundred users so far, but as things pick up...
Hrm.. That *is* fairly interesting. If the video is what they're calling alpha, it has quite some potential. I would be interested in the storymode more than the multiplayer (not enough time to devote to getting good enough to not get frustrated ), but that looks kinda neat. I'll have to keep it in mind.
I must say, I prefer a tad bit more mecha in my giant robot. Those look more like walking tanks or battle tech, however, still may be worth considering, thanks
Yeah, they're not quite humanoid- but that allows for a lot more customization and variation in what you see on the field.
Not sure which video you watched- There's also "Friday Night Fights" on youTube that have some of the most current patches included, as well as (if you go back) the older builds- you can see how much the game has progressed.
The trailer that is the only video on the page to which your sig links.
I don't necessarily dislike more reasonable giant robot games, I quite liked earthsiege 2 way back in the day, I just get more excited about giant robots that can also fly and have laser swords and *more missiles than god(tm).
When its not this late, I may have to check out the gameplay videos on the youtube, it still looks like a pretty fun giant robot piloting experience
My roommate and I have been playing Injustice: Gods Among Us. I'm normally not a huge fan of fighting games, but it's been tons of fun. Favorite character so far is Nightwing.
Running though Borderlands 2 again with my younger bother as a side kick. But other wise not much. A little bit of Worms Clan Worms. However I am looking forward to BF4.
kirsanth wrote: More Borderlands 2 - aiming for 72+ siren now.

Actually playing WHFB some. . .*gasp*
Good luck with that. My Siren is only Lv 32. But the character I am running with my bro is the Psycho, whom I acquired during the steam summer sale for $2.5
I beat Sleeping Dogs a while ago. I think that game has a lot going for it. It has a good setting, gameplay, controls and premise but actually the story is not that good and despite everything that hurt it.
Oh how could I have forgotten Kerbal Space Program. I have a few unmanned satalights in orbit however I have not gotten any farther than that. The game is both realistic and addictive something that many simulation games don't have.
Switching off between Gears of War 3 and Pokemon White. So far, Gears 3 is way better than Gears 2, and White is still a decent challenge with tons of grinding...getting me pumped for the release of X and Y next month.
Must be about my 8th playthrough, and I'm still keeping my character working so hard, she's over level 30 before I find the Greybeards. (Harbinger of the Companions, arch-mage, and working up through the thieves guild though. Think this time I'm going to take down the assassins rather than ignore them or join them.)
Rome II - Macedon will rise again! I have a foothold in Anatolia, and I am considering betraying my Spartan allies so I can take the rest of Greece. They can keep southern Italy.
Was playing the first darksiders of all things. There's a few poor design choices that I had forgotten about. That game just wants you to hit x all the time I have to force myself to use other moves in order to not get seriously fatigued. Why they couldn't have kratos' x,x,y style combos is beyond me. Yes it still means you're doing the same move but it at least adds a thin veneer of strategy.
Also mapping dodge to the same button as block is very foolish it makes blocking redundant which is a shame as the block/counter system is well implemented and satisfying.
Holding the trigger to lock on also gets old fast. The lock on also letter boxes the camera and pulls it in too tight ruining your awareness.
All in all though it's still a strong game, with a decent level of challenge.
Starting Rome II with Greece. I honestly don't like several UI changes, but I'm certain it's because I'm not used to them yet. After so many Total Wars with the same overall UI (skipped the Empire:Total War one, I have no idea what it looks like, I just hate the time period) I'm still baffled.
AND WHAT WAS THE BIG IDEA OF REMOVING THE VIDEOS?! I freakin' loved the Assassination videos
Diablo 3 is a good laugh, especially in the multiplayer modes. Was briefly playing with all four of the family earlier, although its sadly a bit much to let the boys play too far into the game.
Of course its great to have another console game Aura and I can play together.
I just played the elder scrolls online beta for a stress test. I think I played for 5 minutes. There's an NDA and all of that, but...
I'm preeeety sure I'm hooked. It felt a lot closer to skyrim than it did to wow/etc. The skills were different, and the targeting seemed a bit more akin to typical mmos, but for those brief moments, it really seemed like something in between. Hopefully I'll get to try some more beta before its done, but I could see subscribing to a game like that, if it works.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir. I'm on a bit of a D&D kick at the moment, and this is apparently the most recent game. As I'm homebound with a broken ankle for a month or so, plenty of time to play it.
And by "play it" I mean get a party to level 6 or so, realize I have a better idea for a different party, and restart. Repeat ad nauseum.
@Seaward If only I could even get parties to level six! I don't think I played that one much, but I have that problem any time I play D&D based games. Or well anything, but D&D especially.
I remember playing those two levels where you fight the assassins and killing everyone (barring their leader). For some reason at the end I had a low chaos level. ...Guess assassins don't count as people, but despots do. =P
Am currently in the grip of yet another Football Manager 2013 fever... 61 hours so far and counting...
Started playing 'Sleeping Dogs' but i'm having trouble getting my head around the h-t-h system? It's confusing at best and downright broken at worst Still, the story seems quite good, and the chance to make stupid Bruce Lee noises should never be passed up.
Playing a few things, really just working through my steam library trying to complete most of my games. Yea ill be there a while, im even replaying some i know iv completed like Batman Arkham Asylum/City.
Just completed Assassins Creed, now onto the 2nd one.
Need to figure out what games cant be "completed" and are just sandboxes, might take a while lol.
Playing League of Legends now and then, still not that comfortable playing coz i still suck lol.
Now you need to play Judgement. I actually highly recommend Gears: Judgement's single player. It was fun and the "Declassified" missions made for a highly enjoyable game. Add to it the fact that it has two campaigns(one takes place in the middle of Gears 3 with Clayton, Baird, and Cole as the playable characters along with one of the guys introduced in Judgement).
Playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn... 12 hours of gameplay later and I'm only level 18... I think I should stop playing... or keep playing idk which.
It's a fun game, and "cheaper" than other pay to play MMOs since you only ever need 1 character because jobs/classes are fluid.

My friend that let me borrow the third was actually just telling me about Judgement yesterday. I'll probably pick it up if it's on level with the third. He certainly had nothing but praises for it...
...plus, I'd like a new game for some online co-op.
Bought Diablo 3 for PS3 this morning and enjoying it a lot. The multiplayer is a blast and without the always online gak and the awful auction house of the PC/Mac version, it's soooo much better.
Just completed Arkham City. Just got a few chapters into Max Payne 3 and I'm loving the new visual direction (though I do miss the Noir and the story boards).
Borderlands 2. Im fighting the warrior for gear so i can get XP for TVH mode.
He is easy. But the lava is getting me. I keep falling in the a pit right behin the step
What you can do after killing the warrior is just sit there killing the rak that endlessly spawn. It's the equivalent of going to the forest and killing boars though lol.

How is Magic 2013? I downloaded it, but haven't played it yet.
Idk how M2013 Duels is, but 2014 is good fun, I've got that on my PC and it simulates the game just enough to frustrate me, but it's simple enough that I don't have to deal with amazing 'wtf just happened' style wins. If I lose, I can usually see where I screwed up in the strategy and lost.
Edit: Currently playing Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn for the PC, and holy feth are MMOs addicting >_< I don't think I've poured more time into a game like that since I quit WoW. I've had the game available to play since Sunday the 8th, and I'm already level 32 with level 15 in a secondary class (I did the 15 side class levels yesterday morning). I haven't touched hobby stuff since the Tuesday before the 8th.
Demon hunter seems like it tries too hard to do what another class can just kind of buttonmash through. If you get hit you seem to squish, whereas my witchdoctor just kind of trolled through the same areas. It was neat... just a lot more labor intensive, at least for me. Having fun on the 360? i played the PC but grew tired of it quickly.
On topic: Mostly, I have been painting, however I may try to get icewind dale 2 to run in compatibility mode... or perhaps install one of the neverwinter games. Failing that, I foresee another spat of FTL...
The game feels like it was made for consoles from the get-go.
In regards to the Demon Hunter, yeah they are squishy but you get some serious damage reduction/mitigation abilities around the end of Nightmare/middle of Hell modes. I refuse to remove the rune for damage mitigation from Shadow Power and the +armor, resistance and lower discipline cost passive ability is just too good to give up.
May pick up Diablo III eventually for PS3, but mostly for couch co-op, which I heard is somewhat annoying, so not really hurrying.
We actually got Final Fantasy XIII-2 over the weekend and have been playing it. Surprisingly fun, but then we enjoyed 13 for what it was - got a platinum trophy on that one even.

You have my eternal respect. After reaching the "max level" (All characters with the crystal thing 100% complete) I decided to attempt to fight a certain enemy, one that looks an enormous armored dinosaur. It butt-raped my team, me, and probably any spawns I may or may not have one day.
It was my cue for "Nope, nope, nopenope, not gonna happen, not gonna 100% this bad boy" and stop playing it.
kirsanth wrote: May pick up Diablo III eventually for PS3, but mostly for couch co-op, which I heard is somewhat annoying, so not really hurrying.
The only annoying thing about couch coop is that unless the second player has their own separate account enabled with internet access their progress is not saved, meaning you'll be playing Normal endlessly.
While we're on the subject of D3... Blizzard was kind enough to send out an email saying the auction house was going to be led out back and peacefully shot (my words). I guess it's not doing what they wanted. If that means they modify the way monsters drop loot to the point that I can actually go out, kill stuff, loot items, and even one of them is potentially useful/not utterly disappointing vendor/salvage trash... I may feel like playing again
Its not so much that I want the best gear in the world to drop with every bucket of raining frogs... its just that I'd like to pick up an item that I could use every once and a while.

Yes, I enjoy it.

There will be a complete re-balance of the weapons in a future update, though shotguns have accidentally been nerfed a bit by having their accuracy drop off by 100% after ten meters.
But yeah, right now the Mosconi and Deagle / Bronco are the top picks for the most part, though a properly kitted out ersatz M4 or M16 can still be a viable option, it just takes more rounds to drop the feds.

Gave up on that around Cataclysm when they seriously fethed around with Hunters. And they made out they were doing us this big favour too!
"We've decided that you no longer need bags of ammo, you just put one arrow in your bow/round in your gun and it'll last forever*." - Ouch went all the engineers making shot and the leatherworkers making bags.
"Also, we've decided to give the hunters their pet at level 1, yes, you get it as soon as you make a new hunter character" - No! screamed all the groups who realised that from then on, 98% of all hunters would actually be Huntards who didn't know how to kite a mob as they can now just sit back, let their pet do most of the work whilst they AFK autoshoot or try to work out how to make their cosmetic pet the most awesomest 'pokemon' battler in the entire game.
Geez, dumb it down much?
OK, so with very limited internet access now, I couldn't play it if I wanted to, but as long as it's like that, I'll stick with playing Skyrim (offline), Riddick, Total Anhiliation, or Rogue Trooper.
*or at least until you can use a better type of ammo, but you'll still only need the one!
Kanluwen wrote: The only annoying thing about couch coop is that unless the second player has their own separate account enabled with internet access their progress is not saved, meaning you'll be playing Normal endlessly.
We each have an account, but I killed the HDD on our first PS3, so we are just using one ATM - it would not save the second accounts data?
It works for saving characters for Borderlands 2 mostly, but it does not work for trophies somewhat obviously, but that is including restricting me from getting a trophy for rezing someone online on my friends list since the accounts are not both online at the same time. (Does that even make sense?) I assumed it would be the same.
I read the annoyance at not splitting screen and all menus take full screen.
Warthunder still takes all my attention when it comes to gaming as of late, I do wish however those damnebal heavy figthers where a bit mroe easy to handle
Back in Skyrim again. Must be about my 10th character now, with an average of 100+ hours on each. Most are sneaky archers, but I've gone with a Nord 2H guy this time, siding with the Stormcloaks before visiting High Hrothgar. Going to finish the Civil War and Companions quests before I go see what the Greybeards want.
Started Dawn of war Dark crusade. I like it! But there are some things I dislike. 1. The arc between easy and standard, on easy it's too easy on standard (especially vs CSM) all they do is pump out massive forces that I can only take out do to my obsessive upgrading. it would take me well over an hour to take out a CSM base on a large map. on a small map that's a easier bit, but otherwise...
2. Tau they seem just as overpowered in there as in 40k tabletop, I played Tau on a 6 player vs 1 Eldar opponent, I had a little trouble getting off the ground then once I had my army I was unstoppable! I put 2 or 3 maxed out fire warrior squads bunched together with a Hammerhead and I was unstoppable! I had them on the top of some stairs and didn't even have to pay them attention! They were throwing 2-3 Wraith-titan things at me along with a host of guardians and they couldn't touch me!
3. Stealth it is STUPID! OVERPOWERED AND STUPID!!! Seriously? Making unit invisible AND ABLE TO ATTACK!? What were they thinking? Ugggh...
4. Necrons. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PLAY NECRONS. They play to my strength (defensive play) due to needing only power. But they build so slowly! Playing on standard, CSM kept pumping out Khorne 'Zerkers that would come up and smash my Necrons. Uggghh... I'll just go back to Orkses
I had to take a break from Gears of War...so I got sucked back into Skyrim. After almost 250 hours, I just finished the main quest, and now I'm working on getting the remaining Daedric items and finishing a lot of the side quests I have...

Balance is a bit of a non-issue when you only play against AI. Also, seems like someone doesn't know how to zerg rush.

From star craft. The zerg race's basic trooper spawned 2 weak zerglings instead of one marine etc. A common tactic was to quickly mass up a horde of zerglings and swarm the enemy ASAP. Get a batch of 12 or so and rush the enemy position, good chance that they would meet only workers or a couple of defenders.
Has been used ever since in RTS games and anywhere else you want to describe a mindless horde charging around. Like people playing battle grounds in wow just storming around in big groups etc.
So we can assume that the advice was to spam out a bunch of basic troopers and overwhelm your opponent before he can tech up o get significant defenses. You've gotta be quick and efficient though, or you'll meet resistance and early all in builds like this die to the attrition of a drawn out assault. If they survive w/o significant damage, you probably can't catch back up etc.
Played some supreme commander 2 (offline skirmish matches) and just screwed around.
It is amusing just building a base full of artillery - I defeated some computers without leaving my base lol, but it got old so now I'm on the hunt for something else to occupy my time.
Seriously though, I'm really enjoying the original XCOM playthrough I'm doing. Never played the game before and it's kind of kicking my butt. The new one looks significantly friendlier to me.

Having problems with the companion quest "Purity", I get to where Valkas wants to cure himself of the beastblood and follows me out of Jorvaaskar. But once outside, he just turns around and re-enters the hall. Even if I fast travel, he does not follow me and therefore I can't put the head on the fire, and I can't cure him. The quest transfers into the finished section of the quest log, but it is obvious that nothing has been done with it.
The first time that happened I had to wait a couple of days before he would talk to me again, then he gave out a couple more companion quests before starting "Purity" again, but the same thing happened. Thereafter, all he will give me is "Purity", and then he won't follow me! If I just ask him to follow me, he refuses as I already have a follower - presumably him from the quest.
Getting pretty fed up as this is now the second (third?) character I can remember this happening on.

Thereafter, all he will give me is "Purity", and then he won't follow me! If I just ask him to follow me, he refuses as I already have a follower - presumably him from the quest.
Getting pretty fed up as this is now the second (third?) character I can remember this happening on.
Elder scrolls games are full of bugs. More news at 11.
As for me.
Borderlands 2 mostly this week.
Will be starting Armored Core Verdict Day when I get home today, not entirely sure if I'll be getting heavily into the MP of that though, very much depends on what they fixed.
Will most likely be playing more EU4 again next week, Burgendy needs to kill more.
Started playing Marvel: Avenger Alliance with my D&D group. It's a decent flash game, great for wasting time when goofing off on Facebook or the internet in general.
Done all the campaigns for Magic 2013. They were fun. The new mode in this one is Planechase which I can't say I really enjoy actually. It's not as good as the previous edition's Arch Enemy mode.

You know you're a year behind right? Magic 2014 is pretty good

It was a free download with XBL Gold. I also dl'd it, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Really? I'll have to check it out 2014 made some good improvements over 2013 from what I've read.

It's no longer available. They've been releasing two games a month for free download, the first game is available from the 1st-15th, the second from the 16th-the end of the month. Magic 2013 was from the 1st-15th, and Rainbow Six Vegas is avail till the 30th. Jump on it, son!

Exactly. Yes, I know I'm a year behind.... and that saved me some money!

They've been giving away some good free games and RSV is one of them. Unfortunately already got that one. Did not save money that time.
GrimDork wrote: From star craft.
My point was that Necrons build so slow that rushing is virtually impossible.
I know how to rush with other factions (Orks especially)
Ahh, my bad. Tone of voice would have carried your meaning, silly internet (and silly me for thinking someone wouldn't know what a zerg rush was)
I'm seriously considering dusting of my Magicka collection... I still need to beat a couple of the newer survival modes and I think I have two story modes I haven't played all the way through.
*edit*
Actually, screw it. I'm going to load up wh40k: space marine. Its been ages, and with the new 6th ed codex in hand, I'm feeling all power-armory and stuff. Stalker bolter and lascannon come to papa!
GrimDork wrote: Ahh, my bad. Tone of voice would have carried your meaning, silly internet (and silly me for thinking someone wouldn't know what a zerg rush was)
I knew what a rush was, but not knowing what Zerg were I didn't know weather you were talking a certain Kind of rush
Yeah, I think its all the same. Zerg just did it best cause you could make so many so fast. Aside from speed and early pressure, I don't think they really do it any different in theory.
And damn space marine, right to hell. Even though the bolter still feels too much like an assault rifle, even though its stinky ultramarines... stupid game makes me wanna paint space marines in a bad way
Naval ops warship gunner
Attempting to defeat the final boss is a ***** with only ww2 technology. It seems that a very outdated biplane torpedo bomber(Fairey swordfish) is the only thing that can hurt it.
I only get 18 max
League of Legends because my group of friends split up into several different colleges and gone got themself addicted, Terraria because of the new patch, and Planet Side 2.
GTA V... Cannot wait till GTA Online is launched next week!
And Sims 3 when I can't be arsed to concentrate and I multi task instead.
I'll be playing Lord of the Rings Online again in November when the next expansion Helms Deep is released. Just hit max lvl (85) a few weeks ago, and I'm not going to grind for gear that'll be obsolete in a few weeks time with the new lvl cap of 95.
Darklands. When I mentioned it on the old games you might have missed thread, I started playing again.
Currently hanging out in Hannover, working to increase my alchemical skills on my me character/alchemist/talky guy whilst murdering all of the bandits to increase my weapons skills on everyone else.
Based on my calculations, I have killed roughly 135% of the entire towns population at the time in bandits.
GTA V Online. Managed to rob a few Convenience stores with a friend. Then I got ran over and killed by some random guy who came out of nowhere as we hid on a hillside from the cops. So I respawned and we hunted him down a few times. I think he got the message.
Earning money in the mutiplayer is painfully slow. Also, if you're having trouble escaping the cops, drive into the subway. Cops never follow you underground.
I downloaded Spartucus: Legends on PSN. For a free game, it's been plenty of fun. The fighting is cool, and I like being able to customize your gladiator to your prefered fighting styles. I haven't tried online fight yet.
Armored Core: Verdict Day, beat the last mission yesterday (and subsequently started farming it around 10 times for that love 1,4mil reward). Now working on getting every mission S ranked and getting my UNAC up to snuff before I head for the lands of PVP.
Started messing around in The Secret World again with a friend of mine. The first zone of the game is probably my favorite in any MMO ever. A Sheriff's Station besieged by hordes of zombies raised up by cthonic horrors out of a lovecraft story, government conspiracies, crazy cults, NPC quest videos like so ...
Bougth Rome 2 today, now I wish to take a gladius to the guts of the developers. But it may be ope yet, from what I have read the game seems better now than on relase
Sword of the Stars: The Pitt. I'm on floor 15 with a Ranger and still somehow not dead. The new difficulty levels added by the DLC really skew the gameplay in favor of micromanagement, which fits the rogue like nature of the game, but doesn't really suit my run and gun style. As for the psychic powers added, I feel like they could be more passive, or at least not hidden away in a sub menu. The psychic enemies are a real pain too, not so much in that their difficult to defeat, just that their spamming off invisibility forces you to train your powers or use area of effect weapons. The new rooms and items added by the DLC are alright, and its cheap enough to justify the additions, but the psychic elements seem to force you into playing the game in a certain way now. =/
FINALLY got around starting Fallout 3, and it's been pretty cool so far. The leveling system surprised me, but I like that it's closer to a pen and paper RPG.
And my girlfriend finally talked me into creating an Everquest II character. It's alright, I'll dabble with it for a couple hours and see how I like it more.
Still playing FF14, and still greatly enjoying it. I hate to say it, but Blizzard really needs to look to Square to how to do an MMO right. The entire time I was doing this MMO, there were your very generic MMO quests, but at the same time there was a story threaded around the entire game from level 1 to level 50. By the time you reach the end of the game you realize that there is 'something' on the line and that the players, all of them, have been integral to the game throughout the story.
It has been a fun ride. Now all that's left to do is to gear up to do some of the standard MMO 'end game content'.
I have had a hard time even wanting to try XIV despite being a big fan of the series.
I know Tarutaru, so making them Falefel or whatever does not do it for me. The similarities are more problematic than it should be.

I've never played XI, so I can't comment on Tarutarus, but what doesn't sit well with you about Lallafels? I've been playing a Lallafel and they're just so gosh darn adorable! It's impossible to take them seriously
MrDwhitey wrote: Played XIV for a week, then quit. The complete lack of anything past level 41 was incredible.
Also I look like some kind of tennis player at level 46.
Spoiler:
I didn't have much issue with 'lack of quests' until I hit 49. There were a few spots where I was out of quests because I had finished my hunting log early, was saving levequests for alt classes, and was 'underleveled' for the zone I was in. 5 fates and I usually fixed it. Also the dungeons past stone vigil netted about 100,000 experience points per clear so even at level 49 it only took you 5 dungeons and 1 or 2 fates to complete.
The Praetorium dungeon was awesome as hell, featuring nothing but kick ass boss fights.
As for your Conjurer, I never got that chest piece, I was using a set of robes until I picked up my level 50 chest piece, which completely fixes the "possibly gay tennis star" thing you've got going one. Also what server were you playing on because I may have run into you. Though I'm sure that chestpiece and leggings combination has been done. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/4218162/

Really it is the fact that they are the same.
I loved the Tarutaru lore and land but jumping into a game where they are called Falefel instead just seemed a lark.
Why does it need to change? Why could they just not make a new ideal? It was literally the similarity that kept us out. Why should we re-make the same characters to play a new game? I liked my Tarutaru.
I get the idea that FF games change the verbage and gameplay between games - that is one of the draws. Keeping things the same enough to morph them into something different made both of us want to step out from it.
That is sad.
editing to add: I work in this industry. This game simply failed before it even started. The idea is wrong.
But they changed everything, Elezan were Elvaan, Hyur were Humes, Miqo'te are Mithra, Roegadyn are Galka sans tail. Eorzea is not Vana'diel.
I wouldn't dismiss the game based on a name change alone. It's a fun game and has a good storyline, albeit it is Star Wars...
Edit: Final Fantasy 14 failed, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn hasn't failed it's gone beyond the expectations of Square so far considering you could not buy this game for two weeks because servers were overloaded with how popular the game was from its initial version.
Edit the second: Honestly, if you don't like Lalafells being 'tarutarus' then just play a different race. Would you have this issue if FFXI had Humans, Elves, Orcs, Cat-people, and gnomes and then in FFXIV had Humans, elves, Orcs, Cat-people, and gnomes?
It's fine that you might not like the game, but to look at it and go, "Those are/aren't tarutaru, pass!" isn't giving the game a chance... But that's your opinion I'll just go on enjoying this game
I get that too. Part of it is probably getting to the point that stopping 11 was a good idea. So starting 14 seems almost a relapse.
^^
editing to add: I unlocked the ability to change the song while riding chocobos in 13-2 and despite any musical preference anyone has . . . heavy metal chocobo music is pretty awesome. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN RIDE THIS CHOCOBO SADDLE UP IF YOU THINK YOU CAN RIDE IN THIS RODEO!
@MrDwhitey that... is so awesome. Its also why I don't think I could play that game! I mean you could come up with worse (slightly) outfits in WoW, but if you're telling me that is actually viable late game gear... Bwahaha! Awesome, thanks for sharing
Still playing w40k space marine. Still wishing the bolter didn't feel like a slightly higher caliber assault rifle.

It's not really viable late game gear. The chestpiece that whitey is wearing is not the artifact piece that you get upon reaching level 50. Here is all of the level 50 stuff with their relic weapons, which are only attainable after beating the storyline: From left to right: Bard, Black Mage, Warrior, White Mage, Dragoon, Monk, Paladin
The only jobs that aren't shown are the Summoner and Scholar who share a base class.
That does look better, although the dragoon is the only one that really does anything for me I'm a little burnt on MMOs and final 'beating a dead horse' fantasy anyway, so don't mind me!

And there are pieces of each set's gear that is kind of dumb Bard's bow is too large Black Mage's hat is too pointy Warrior looks like a Skyrim reject White Mage is wearing a tiara (not really, but that's what I call it) Dragoon looks awesome, except for female armor which has a big stab me here hole in the stomach Monk is too bright and the fist pieces are awkward looking Paladin doesn't have set gear shield so that rarely ever matches
But honestly it's not a bad game and the final dungeon literally has like 4 boss fights in a row with no trash mobs in between.
PLaying through baldurs gate 1 again... enchanced edition was on sale for 5$.
OMG how i missed the top down veiwstyle, even if the graphics are out of date, its such an immersing game.
havnt been able to put it down all week, even though I have to paint my orks.
I wish the new NWN had been more like this... sighhh
Two games at the moment:
Titan Quest: Underrated game that put Iron Lore our of business because it was the most pirated and everyone overlooked it for seeming to look like a Diablo clone (even though it is much better than Diablo and more revolutionary than Diablo).
Dark Soul: Because I always wanted a rage-inducing game that wants me to continue to get better like Crash Bandicoot did back in my childhood.
Finally got around to playing SR3. Hoping to beat it tonight, then have SR4 beaten by Pokemon morning, because This week goes ...Thursday, Friday, Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon.

This is how I feel. The girlfriend and I picked up our Pokemon edition 3DSXL's yesterday!
Had a go at trying to play Baldur's Gate again, but the interface is just so damn annoying to get around. I mean other than just the movement controls and the different menus, talking to people seems like such a chore. Meh, one day I might get past the tutorial (get's shot by people that have actually properly experienced the game).
@easysauce heck yeah, best game evar! Or well, really fun anyway I'm impatiently awaiting BG2/ToB EE, that is a thing right, they're still doing it? I really wanna import my crazy BG1 characters in and go the whole mile for a couple of them.
I agree that NWN seemed to lack the same soul as the earlier games. I think it may have had to do with them designing the toolkit, and then building their own game with it. Maybe they should have just built a better game and *then* slapped the toolkit on for the rest of us.
Did you play the IWD games? I haven't tried 1 yet, but I quite liked the upgrade to 3rd edition that IWD2 brought. Had the new classes, skills, feats of D&D 3/.5 but still felt so much like Baldurs Gate (minus the amazing NPCs like Minsc!, biggest downfall, but I had a lot of fun with that one too).
I think you've tricked me into playing that again after I finish space marine. Darn it. Or maybe Magicka... hrm..

Titan Quest is fantastic. I enjoyed it much more than Diablo II or III, the whole Greek, Egyptian and Asian mythology based enemies and "Dual-Class" system was great. I was fortunate to get it together with a gaming magazine.
If you have a PS3, get Demon's Souls. I tougher than Dark Souls.

Think I shall start The Last of Us tonight - or this weekend anyway.
Temp swapped with someone for it - not sure it is really something I will enjoy at the moment.
Skyrim "booty call" due to some unexpected extra time. We'll see if I keep playing or not. Stabby sneaky lizard this time around. Haven't decided if he's xenophobic/evil yet of not... bandits and giants don't count.
Just found out today that Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition isn't censored or German-Language-Only in Germany, unlike Fallout 3! Woohoo! Playing that again. Really love the Fallout 3 game engine. Trying for playing in Hardcore Mode, currently stumbled out of the desert with my legs crippled from shrapnel from a botched attempt to kill a pack of coyotes with a grenade. Thought maybe the buildings I saw might be a town where I could get some help, turns out the Legion had just been through and killed or crucified all the townsfolk.

To answer your question regarding IWD 1, yes its a very, very awesome game. The music alone is owrth paying for the game, then you have the insanely detailed and varied world, the foes you meet and the sheer mindboggeling amount of detal that has gone into certain parts of the world. I) have sunk around 150+ hours of time into said game and its expansion pack hearth Of Winter.
Combar flows very well, and the different ways you can build a party also provides a lot of options and possibilties. Although as in all such games some builds makes ones life as a smither of evil and disorder a bit easier.
Icewind dale is almost just like the original BG. Icewind Dale 2 is updated to third edition stuff like skills and feats, but its still the 6 (generic) member party and plays mostly like the IWD/BG series. NWN is a whole nother ball game, especially since its you/ you and a minion.
Finally started playing Rome II as Rome, at Very Hard difficulty. It has been a tumultuous ride. Thanks to four odd updates it's about where I think it should have been at launch.
Gradually took Italia, Magna Gracia, Macedonia, Corsica et Sardinia, and Cisalpina through a combination of military might, double dealing, and careful inciting of rebellions.
By this point I had four full Legions under my banners - Legio I Italia - stationed in Cisaplina to challenge any attacks by the barbarian scum to the north, although I had non aggression pacts with most of my direct neighbors
Legio II Victrix, my elite attacking force led by the cunning General Spurius Bantius Leo
Legio III Macedonia - led by the quite frankly deranged Sextus Papius Licinus guarding Macedon
Legio IV Macedonia - supporting Victrix
It soon became apparent that my Ligurian allies were becoming less than pleased with me; and considering that under my auspices they had been saved from destruction and gone on to conquer Pronvincia, their lack of fidelity wounded me to the quick. Legio Victrix and IV Macedonia quickly destroyed the feckless traitors, granting me the status and economic strength to rally even greater forces.
Soon Legio V Augusta and Legio VI Ferrata were marshaled.
IV Macedonia was set to guard Provincia while Victrix, Augusta, and Ferrata sailed south to remove the Carthaginian thorn from my heel, supported by my fleets. In a short few years, Africa Province was conquered and pacified. Libya read the shifting currents of the future in the ruin of mighty Carthage, and pledged itself as a client state of Rome. The Garama barbarians refused the embassies of the Senate and People, and continued to make war on Libya. Soon enough they were crushed under the iron tread of Victrix and Ferrrata, their ridiculous customs and gods consigned to the celebratory pyres of the Legions, and Phazania province fell.
Rome basked in it's victorious splendor, spending years building it's infrastructure. Many of the smaller tribes living on the borders of the great Republic recognized the benefit of hitching themselves to the rising star of Rome, first trading with and then pledging themselves as clients of the Republic; sheltering their burgeoning towns under the powerful wings of the Roman Eagle against the darkness of their even less civilized neighbors.
The Masaesyli, Cantabri, and Lusitani pledged themselves to Rome, sometimes at the prices of princely gifts, and Roman traders sailed the breadth of the Mare Nostrum, providing the Republic much needed funds through trade. The Gallic tribes began to coalesce behind the great chieftains of the Namnetes, and Rome moved it's Legions to counter this threat.
The newly founded VII Herculia joined IV Macedonia, Victrix, Ferrata, and Augusta in Provincia on the southern borders of Gaul, while VIII Africana was established to safeguard the African provinces. Meanwhile Roman diplomats met with the minor tribes of Germania and Britannia, seeking advantage against the growing strength of the Gauls.
In the Nervii, Rome found it's weapon. The tribe pledged itself to Rome for protection, and the Republic was able to war against the Namnetes without also antagonizing their many allies. The five Legions gathered swept up into Gaul almost unopposed, as the Namnete warbands were focused on their eastern borders, fighting the Nervii. Soon, the Roman boot was firmly placed on the necks of the Namnete chieftains, and all of Aquitania and Celtica bowed down.
The growing might of the Republic allowed two new Legions, IX Fulminata and X Rapax to be founded, and joined by Victrix and Ferrata, they fell upon the Daorsi of Illyria, who had for reasons unknown rebuffed all overtures of friendship from the eternal city. The conquest of Illyria was a short interruption of an otherwise peaceful era for Rome, as once again the Republic focused on building itself to greater heights.
However, factions within the Republic became furious with what they saw as an inequitable holding of power by the noble house of Julia. Many of the greatest generals and scholars of the Republic belonged to this most aristocratic family, and though it had been scarred by it's share of controversy, it remained preeminent.
The Legions began gathering to support a most unjust war against their newest allies in Hispania, the Cantabri, when rogue elements of the Senate alongside disaffected scions
of the houses of Junia and Cornelia raised Legions of their own to overthrow the lawful Republic and destroy the house of Julia, gathering themselves at Massalia.
A lucky strike by the faithful fleets of Rome destroyed three Legions of these feckless traitors as they attempted to sail on Italia itself, and a lengthy campaign saw the rest of the faithless enemies of the Republic hunted down as they sowed discord throughout the Gallic provinces.
With a heavy heart, Sextus Vesuvius Pera, favored son of Julia realized that Rome could not survive another such internecine struggle; he was forced by his conscience to declare himself Augustus - Emperor and God of Rome.
The future looms, bright, but uncertain for the Roman Empire. Will unconquerable Jupiter bless Rome and the Legions with his grace as they move against Asia and Ancient Aegyptus to fulfill Imperator Sextus Vesuvius Caesar Pera Augustus's mad dreams to recreate the conquests of Alexander? Only time will tell.
Skyrim again. Another new character (Heavy armour fighter/tank) who has completed companion questline and Mage college questline.
Going for all Daedric artifacts and have heard that you can get a character who has all perks in every skill, but you are required to take skills to "Legendary" status something like 147 times to do so.
"Challenge Accepted!"
Don't like the fact that last time I took smithing to Legendary, it seemed to kill the smith who worked for the Companions, which of course means you can't go to him for training any more, so I'm stuck with not wanting to make that skill Legendary as it removes a place to sell armour and weapons from Whiterun.
Also playing sky rim now. Not focused too hard on being awesome or clearing plots this time. Falling back into my RP roots I'm running a bosmer hunter/trapper. Working on committing to my actions and dealing with the outcome as opposed go hiding behind quick saves. Virtually ignoring money and trying my best to not socialize, if I need something from town I'll try to break in and take it... leaving jewelry or weapons behind as 'guilt payment'.
I'll say this, I'm having more fun worrying less about my ,inventory, and avoiding/theifing sleeping towns is entertaining
Got GTA 5, played for an hour then dropped it like a dead cat on fire. Maybe I am the wrong type of player but it struck me as somewhat shoddy made, and rather tedious. But then again I may just be of the wrond mindset to enjoy such games

I think I have something for you on that.
Forgive my ignorance but I do not pay attention to what happens on such things. And I did not find anything at all amusing with that video, must be my Norwegian genes kicking in
What I love about Fallout is the fact that I'm not mad clued in on the mythos. So sometimes I see some scary looking freak mutant and go "OH CRAP WHAT IS THAT!" and shoot it and shoot it and it dies and I go "THANK GOD!" or I see something innocuous and then BAM, it guts me.
Yesterday I met some weird coyote rattlesnake hybrids that I at first thought were just regular coyotes. Suddenly I'm being mobbed by a swarm of hissing, super fast and poisonous quarapeds, while backpedalling through rocky terrain thinking "OHGAKOHGAKOHGAK!". Awesome!
I remember the first time I saw a Super Mutant, I almost gakked a brick. Or my first Deathclaw.
By comparison, if I see a Troll in Skyrim, I know pretty much what it does, I know to use fire. If I see a fire elemental, okay, yep, got it. The Daedra were cool in Oblivion, and the Dwarven constructs are similarly good, but I think the Fantasy Tropes element to it takes something away from the game.
Yeah, naval combat was beast in ACIII. As a whole, I too found ACIII lackluster. The main quests were all good and dandy but the side quests, basically starting from II - onwards have been drab and frankly, pointless. I sort of got hooked in Brotherhood to the assassination missions, because it was cool to get on a horse and ride around in the city then ninja your target from horseback, but besides that, didn't really find anything interesting in the other side quests.
