KD:L - Labyrinth, the game that highlights Twilight Knights, White Speakers and other hero level classes.
I've listened to it all now - not much else in there.
Adam is designing the monsters for Red Witches and Oblivion Mosquito himself.
Anna is doing inverted mountain. Campaign is more insanity based with limited survival some disorders required for crafting and innovating. The inverted mountain is literally an upside down mountain not a pit as some seem to think.
A game with preassembled PVC miniatures is definitely not going to happen.
Settlement events for "3 Ages" may be added to KDM advanced rules.

DaveC wrote: 2 containers of 1.5 games have already shipped but this isn't nearly enough to even get started shipping to backers.
To clarify, Poots said the 2 containers on the water were not enough to fulfill a single continent - but it's almost certainly enough to get started shipping.
Presumably, this means he'll start shipping America in a month or so, because America has the most backers, and will take the longest to complete. He probably has 4 to 6 more containers to deal with.
My main takeaway on the container comment is that production for Core / Update is complete. That's pretty big news, and it explains why Adam was so sure fulfillment could start between late Sepember / mid-October. 1.5 is almost certain to be in bakcer hands by Holiday 2017.
Also, Adam shared that the Current Expansion plastics production is done, but paper / print is still in progress, which is pushing it past Holiday 2017.
KD:Q - Kingdom Death Quest, a PVC game for mass market (gonna try distro with this!)
A game with preassembled PVC miniatures is definitely not going to happen.
As I understood it, Adam was looking at Kingdom Death "lite" with PVC minis (KD:Q, above), but the response to 1.5 is pushing him to "go big" instead. A lighter (literally, vs 17 lbs.) game is still possible, but it's farther down the road.
Similarly, KD: Labyrinth got pushed down the road due to how big 1.5 got.
Oddly, 1.5 didn't get big enough for Ringtail Fox, but it seems Adam still intends to do that after additional development.

Nope, KDQ was supposed to be a retail CMoN type game that would have reused existing assets for a different game. I think this would have been great if he handed production and distribution over to someone like CMoN.
I'm guessing Adam wisely has decided to finish the KS stuff then figure out what he wants to do next. That said, he probably is working on his next project in parallel to finishing KDM.
And as someone who owns all the Sci-fi minis, I'm wondering if he ever intends to do anything with them...

Dude, DaveC quoted KD:L, not KD:Q, as the reference point for PVC mini'd KD "lite". I corrected the reference to KD:Q, and clarified that Adam hadn't entirely abandoned the idea of a lighter version of KD.
It's a pity the card sleeves are just plain regular sleeves similar to those that you can get from companies something a bit more "KD" would have been nice.
(and I suspect that will remain the case as that's a time limited release and he probably wants to keep those in house along with the resins and other stuff)
in the interview with Justin Soli they talk about the table edge pieces shown above as something to bling up your gaming table
Adam would like to get them out there but 3d printing to order would tie up their printer for too long, and other routes would be too expensive/too high a minimum order,
but he might just upload them to thingverse so people could print their own (around 21 mins)
Ah ok, I ordered the other promos I was missing from the UK warehouse, I would need to order her separately anyway, what shipping option is suggested when shipping from the US?
Mini update from Poots in the comment section:
Kingdom Death 4-time creator 5 minutes ago
Just thought i'd give you guys a quick status update. At this point, cargo ships have started to reach their respective ports. Once they have arrived it usually takes another 1-2 weeks for the ships to be unloaded and the cargo to be trucked over to its warehouse. I want to have as little delay between global shipment as possible (very tricky when your sailing containers all over the world!) I don't have any "official" timeline updates yet. I am still personally at the wait and see point.
so very much wait and see what with the potential for customs delays, waiting for other ships to arrive etc
but very much time to start putting aside the shipping money if you backed for the base game

Wave 2 is being pushed back to Early 2018. Im not currently evil enough to take care of half the world for the holidays while everyone else has to wait until afterwards. But you know if I end up developing Atnas around that time... !

I had been expecting Wave 2 to ship Q1 2018, so that wasn't a surprise. The surprise to me was that Adam might have been in position to start shipping Wave 2 before X-mas 2017!
I'm still expecting the 1.5 upgrade boxes not to ship at the same time as the full new 1.5 boxes, but am prepared to be pleasantly surprised if they do
OrlandotheTechnicoloured wrote: I'm still expecting the 1.5 upgrade boxes not to ship at the same time as the full new 1.5 boxes, but am prepared to be pleasantly surprised if they do
They're supposed to be the same wave, and it wouldn't be the most loyal to older fans to have them wait on the 2nd edition... The KS success was largely built on their enthusiasm and funding the first KS etc.
It might be that they do one unit type before the other but I don't expect any delay between the two packing runs.
(edit: wishful thinking: they might do the upgrade boxes first to iron out their process on smaller and cheaper sets.)
OrlandotheTechnicoloured wrote: I'm still expecting the 1.5 upgrade boxes not to ship at the same time as the full new 1.5 boxes,
Why? They're both "Wave 1" items.
That said, Wave 1 could be multiple sub-waves, where they start with the 1.5 cores (only), then move to 1.5 upgrades (only), then combined orders and orders with "extras".
I can confirm that 2 of the 3 USA bound shipments of core games, upgrade packs and hardcover rulebooks have arrived!
Sep 27 2017 on Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5
.... I didn’t say everything will ship at the same time. I am trying to minimize the time between different regions fulfillment. But I make no promise of simultaneous global fulfillment.
Presumably, Adam needs to make sure that Backerkit only collects shipping and addresses, and doesn't reopen the entire PM for bakcers to rejigger everything.
I would hope to have an opportunity to add some sets after we see more finalized versions of the minis. A lot of the later stretch goals were just preliminary artwork and rambling bullet points, if I recall.
A LOT of people want to add things, and it's probably across all 4 waves. But I believe Adam is pretty limited in what he can do with Wave 1 (and Wave 2 to a slightly lesser extent), so he needs to take some steps around it.
If Adam allows me to add things, I will join the rest of you in doing so!
Yeah, I doubt there will be many (or any) opportunities to add the core box, but I'd bet you'll be able to add in expansions from Wave 2 on and the various extras and pinups.
I certainly expect he'll allow more stuff to be added in the later waves. Too many of the later revealed items were not much more than a concept sketch, some text, and a hefty price tag.
Alpharius wrote: Yeah, I doubt there will be many (or any) opportunities to add the core box, but I'd bet you'll be able to add in expansions from Wave 2 on and the various extras and pinups.
Maybe!
I took the cowards route and dropped my main pledge at the time of the KS (awful timing with an expensive holiday) and still received a KS 'update your pledge' invite a couple of days ago.
It has the option to add an additional core set (at an inflated price over the original KS price)
Still can't decide whether I want to do this, and pay a lot of money for something I might not get for a couple of years, vs. not ever getting it (and obviously regretting a great deal when all the box opening shots start to appear!)
some people on the facebook group are reporting the ability to add extra core games too,
but i'd really recommend not doing anything until there's an official announcement as I suspect backerkit is still fiddling with things on the back end and there's always the change of being charged for something that's just not available
All I could find about additional add-ons is this, back from March:
> The pledge manager will reopen before wave 1 ships to collect your wave 1 shipping fee. I have yet to decide if backers will have the opportunity to pledge for more content when we reopen it. Please do not expect it.
No email on shipping sent out yet. When it happens... BGG will know.
Also, not opening add-ons *at this time*. I think you can get additional core sets, and Wave 1 is shipment of core sets only because of packaging (most efficient to ship everyone their base game in its own box).
Sorry! I am not opening up add-ons at this time. I want to keep everything focused to the fulfillment of Wave 1.
Well, backerkit seems totally FUBAR, it would be nice if they weren't planning on starting to ship tomorrow.
EDIT: Anyone else having weird backerkit issues (like it taking you to the new project page when you try to log in), just use find your project and then put in your email and it will send you a valid link. None of the links I received in the actual Kickstarter emails was valid.
Same ditto. I had to "Recover your BackerKit account". I double-checked they weren't asking for $300 again. Shipping to USA, CA was $20. Fine print says that money isn't collected until the creator is ready (or something like that), so don't expect to be charged right now, and shipping charges could change if there was another mistake.
Best to fill out these things NOT immediately, but I never do that because I keep thinking if I put it off, I'll forget entirely...
From the KS comments, looks like the new trays aren't shipping out with the upgrade kits. Oddly enough, that was the single component i was looking forward to the most. My original tray was pretty badly damaged in transit. Oh well, such is life.
Adam said at some point during the campaign that trays for the upgrade kits weren't really feasible, due to size relative to the rest of the kit and vulnerability to damage when not packed in as part of the full box in its super duper shipping box.
$10 shipping for me to Texas. Something to remind everyone, make sure that whatever credit card Backerkit may already have on file for you is current. I updated mine to be sure.
Anyone happen to know the backerkit URL? I want to log in and make sure they have my new address. When I go to backerkit.com, when I log in it thinks I want to use it for my own campaign not for ones I backed.. must be missing something..
Necros wrote: Anyone happen to know the backerkit URL? I want to log in and make sure they have my new address. When I go to backerkit.com, when I log in it thinks I want to use it for my own campaign not for ones I backed.. must be missing something..
$10 is the upgrade price for US and the EU, so that seems correct. I believe Adam is subsidizing the shipping based on a better per-unit cost on the reprints *and* the shipping, but he's only copped to the shipping be better. That's OK, IMO.
No improved trays in the upgrade packs - the upgrade pack is only the footprint of the hardback rulebook, not the core box. Adam said it's too big and fragile to ship as part of the upgrade pack. If you *really* want one, the price is $300, as part of a new core game.
I must have missed that, too bad it was on stretch goal for the upgrade kit.I would have payed the extra for an empty box containing that, given it was the component that was damaged on the first place and how prominently it was featured on it been good.
Thanks I got it, I was using the creator login page by accident. Sure enough they had my old address, good thing I could change it. I don’t think the old lady that bought my condo would be interested in a box full of barely clad minis.
Necros wrote: Anyone happen to know the backerkit URL? I want to log in and make sure they have my new address. When I go to backerkit.com, when I log in it thinks I want to use it for my own campaign not for ones I backed.. must be missing something..
I had the same problem, I did not notice a 2nd email had been send that contains a personalized link that takes you to the actual backerkit project link instead of the backerkit main page.
So after some digging, they current info is the tray will be available for free for those that want it at a later wave, but for an extra cost in shipping.
Sounds good to me, frankly if he puts it in an empty KDM1,5 box and asks for extra shipping I will be happy.
I'm with Alpharius...I think anyway; one of those associations one can never be certain of.
Also looking forward to the new goodies being here hopefully by the end of the month. Maybe by then I'll have the card sleeves I need to not get around to that project too!
Now the long thumb-twiddling wait until Wave 3; there are (minor) downsides to buying everything it appears.

So just to be clear, only Wave 1 is about to ship, right? I just filled out the shipping payment form but was wondering if there is any update on Wave 2 status.
Please correct me if im wrong, but the lantern upgrade no longer includes the upgraded tray correct? Like its not even going out separately at a later date?
As I said above we do not know, current information is that he thinks he will give it for "free" (given it was promised as part of the upgrade pack anyway) to whoever wants it at a later wave, but it will incur increased shipping cost.
I gotta call you out on that one Bob- maybe not in a starter necessarily, but I've built PLENTY of GW kits that were mislabeled, had labels missing, mixed up... you name it.

Huh. Guess I've been lucky there. And unlucky with the KDM. I haven't worked on my Dragon armor kits since the forearm incident...

Same boat on the Dragon Armor. However, I can confirm that quite a few GW kits have mis-labelled parts. Usually though it's on their mono-pose or near-monopose kits so it's more or less "it only goes together one way" and you just bull through it. Most of the KD range is similar, but the Dragon Armor, Phoenix and Watcher stand out as notable exceptions to that idea. It is annoying that proper build directions haven't been put up yet years later in the case of the core game, but it hasn't really dulled my enthusiasm for the product that much. Just kind of a weird thread to leave dangling.
I know from what Adam has said on a podcast that the official painting guides he wanted to do didn't happen as he couldn't get official permission to feature paint range(s) in them
although recently one (I want to say Army Painter but I can't be 100% sure I'm remembering that right) has made positive noises
quite why the reluctance is unclear especially lines that don't have a mini company associated with them
you could speculate that they don't want to be linked to KD (controversial adult themes), that they would want to do official paint sets (I doubt that would fly with Adam), nobody has ever asked permission for this before so they don't know what to say etc
Alpharius wrote: 1) Are there really NO official assembly instructions yet?!?
Yeah. Not even the core game monopose models have instructions. Not even the confusing core game monopose models have instructions. Also, they've continually pushed back the promo models' rules from the first KS: there are still something like a dozen models waiting for the rules they were supposed to come with (Soon™). Have fun figuring out where those 20-ish non-slotted hands fit on the phoenix without official guides, because I've assembled like 4 of them, including referencing fan guides on some, and am still sure some are wrong.

Whenever someone brings up instructions to Poots the standard answer is to go to Vibrant Lantern, but I find the instructions provided there woefully inadequate for some of the kits.
And kudos to those who manages to figure out how to do the Phoenix proper, no thanks to KDM itself..
My Phoenix and Watcher are still incomplete due to me having no idea where all the lanterns and hands go on the two of them.
They're my last two monsters I need to get done from the core set too. I refuse to play a partially painted set. May need to finally suck it up and hit VL...
Not only are there no instructions, but many pieces are very small and the survivor kits in particular are difficult to assemble. Aside from the Phoenix being near impossible to get right, some other monsters have pieces that have to be put together in the correct order or won't fit. They're not really for beginners. The more board game people will undoubtedly just stick with the starting survivors and ignore the survivor kits, but might still have trouble with the monsters.
BrookM wrote: Whenever someone brings up instructions to Poots the standard answer is to go to Vibrant Lantern, but I find the instructions provided there woefully inadequate for some of the kits.
I asked over in the 1.5 KS comments sections that that is exactly the answer I got!
Baffling that this is still considered 'acceptable' this late in the game - bizarre that 'official' instructions don't exist.
It has to be a case of something Adam wanted to get around to, didn't, Vibrant Lantern picked up the slack, and now that's all we're going to get...
It's kind of bizarre that this game has received so much traction with the board gaming crowd. Or at least it has been hyped as a board game by certain outlets.
While it's certainly not a "war game" Kingdom Death has always been a boutique hobbyist collection more than anything.
On that note, got my shipping notice! Should have 1.5 later this week
Kingdom death, like many games, has a few cultish followers who have done some kinda crazy fan sites. Unlike most games, I think KD takes advantage of that noise pretty regularly.
Re: classifying KD, it has a lot of book keeping, and is done on a grid, and a lot of people invested in it have no particular interest in the models themselves. While it certainly started as a boutique line, it really isn't one now: The board game /minis game line has certainly blurred over the last few years, but if you look at how much more things with game content move than things w/o, it's pretty obvious it's more a game than a collection now.

I know he addressed this last year during the KSer as was basically it takes too much time to make a good assembly guide and there are other things he wants to spend said time on so don't expect official ones since the fan made ones are adequate enough.

My guess is that it's quite a few things at the right time.
* Highly regarded by its initial, hardcore audience.
* Well-known (though not necessarily in a positive way).
* Dedication and integrity of its creator.
* Strong theme and world.
* One of the first games to be reprinted over KS.
* FOMO and snowball effect (including article in Forbes).
* Card combos, civilization-style settlement building, unique Boss mechanics
* KS backers used to paying hundreds of dollars for a game.
* Huge discount compared to web store prices.
* First boardgame with miniature assembly ("they don't know what they're in for"
That's off the top of my head, so feel free to post you reasons why you think the KDM KS did so well.
Oh, and I also got my shipping notice, although it hasn't shipped!
Yeah, they already have render files broken down. You don't need glorious step by step hand holding that would frankly be nice with some model complexity, but a couple diagrams of "this goes here" would at least not end up with some heinously confusing parts. The Gorm kit has a few parts where I still have no idea what they're supposed to be or where they go.
"It's too much effort to deliver what was promised" gets zero sympathy.

I don't disagree with any of this, and I'm very excited to get my copy. My point though, is that if you think of Monster as a board game first and foremost, you are setting yourself up for disappointment, and a lot of people are going to be disappointed I would wager.
Kingdom Death Monster is a boutique hobbyist collection. If you aren't assembling and painting your models you are missing out on a lot of the value. But for many of the reasons stated above this has drawn in a huge number of "game first" consumers, and things like not having assembly guides are really going to drive people up a wall, but for the people that came in looking for that boutique hobby experience, it's part of the fun
I'm sorry, but in what ways, other than that boardgamers notoriously don't like to build minis (who have generally been pretty vocally interested in getting started because of this game), do you think that one, thinking of this as a board game, "setting themselves up for disappointment"?
Also, I'm quite experienced at building stuff, and the lack of instructions drives me up the wall, and I think there's nothing fun about staring at a small lump, needing to start a browser, look around at official pictures of the resin models that had different part breakdown, hold the piece up to compare the shape, maybe try some painted examples to see if they're any better, to figure out that a recess is actually a socket and not texture.
I still have the Watcher to go from the main kit and ALL the big boss monsters (and tree) from the expansions due to a lack of good instructions and not wanting to spend a good day faffing about trying to figure out what goes where.
Also, lot's of love for those accessory sprues with the unnumbered parts, just aaaaaaace darling, ace!
Final Lantern is some sort of postgame bonus die that it sounds like passes with monster controller and you can spend it on buffs, based on what level you've unlocked. IDK about volume.

Lack of instructions... nothing fun... those words might be more appropriate.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought he answered his own question
It's disappointing to hear that Poots has totally given up on providing assembly instructions, some of the upcoming monsters are looking a lot more complex then the current ones.
The fan guides aren't really that useful, the one time I got stuck enough to turn to Vibrant Lantern (building the Green Knight Armors), they had left out the piece I was having trouble with because they didn't know where it went either!
...Not really. I totally get starting with those, but it's unwieldy presentation (maybe it's designed for smartphone screens?), way too stylized/emphasizing high production values/fancy web aesthetics, and I thought the build order didn't always make sense.
edit: and yeah, phoenix wing diagrams are like 70% of what people actually need where you can't dry fit it and figure it out.
Facebook group has just had photos of the update pack in the wild so that's shipping for US folks too (spoilers in the album if you want to avoid looking)

Without date paid shipping, backer number, and location, it is all so much hot air!!!
I'm not sure of the number I was when I confirmed my order, but I confirmed it on Feb 16th. That was the same day the "Response Needed" email came from backerkit so it was done the same day.
Payment processed for my order on Oct 13th. I received shipment notice on Oct 16th with tracking. According to tracking, it will be here Thursday, Oct 19th.
Mon 10/16 - Shipping notice for 10/17 Tue 10/17 - Delivery date changed to "Pending", then received by FedEx for 10/18 delivery Wed 10/18 - out for delivery!
Speaking of twilight is neko twilight going to be exclusive to the gamblers box or will it eventually go on sale as a normal limited model on the shop?
The upgrades are clearly worth it. All of the box corners are intact, as is the tougher organizer tray. The hardback rulebook is beautiful to touch, and the two bookmark ribbons are a great add.
There is a distinct lack of pictures in this thread. Either the people who have received their shiny stuff have dropped dead from sheer joy, or they somehow all lack a phone with a camera.
So I haven't gotten anything since I paid my shipping on Friday, no emails, nothing.
I'm really not impressed with the lack of emails by the way, Since I backed the project back in April, I've received a grand total of 3 emails from Adam. That lack of communication makes me nervous on something I've spent 325$ on.
That sounds like you've not actually managed to pay the shipping
You get a near instant email from support@s.backerkit.com titled Survey Confirmation -- Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5
then a second one when they charge your card (being done in batches) from reply@s.backerkit.com titled Your payment has been processed for Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5
i'd have another look at your backerkit
it should say in green under STATUS

Nice to see lots of new people getting the game though. Best use of money ever.
As a backer of the original, it's pure joy to see newcomers getting it and seeing that as hype as this game is, it's still not justice to the reality of it
I paid my shipping on 10/14. Guess that was too late? Card not charged and nothing shipped. How long of a delay is it now? Im pissed, been half a year and have less than 2 days to pay your shipping?
Gamgee wrote: When is the last day to late back pre-order a core game with that link a few pages back?
I assume it’s more based on amount rather than time. I think he ordered 10,000 more of the game, so I assume it’s until they sell. Could be wrong, don’t think anything has been said officially.

So I do see that, and the status reads exactly as you have described it.
But I never received any emails, and I still haven't received a shipping notice. So maybe my shipping is just pending?

Check your junk e-mail. My shipping notification was scooped up by the automatic filters.
Yeah, I did that too. I actually have all of the KD associated emails white listed so as to prevent them from being funneled to spam. I'm going to assume that he just hasn't shipped to me yet. I have confirmation from both BK and My Bank that I was charged a 20 dollar fee from Adam on 10/13. So I assume it's just a matte of him getting through the shipping. My last name starts with a W so maybe I am way down the line?
If you look in your backerkit, it will say if they've locked your info b/c they're shipping, then you can wait for the actual shipping notice... think it took a couple days for mine to enter the system.
I got my core game today. No shipping notice or anything, just showed up. For some reason I thought it would be much longer. Box was heavy! Haven’t opened it yet though
my last name starts with a letter that comes after W and I am way up there in the back numbers 10,000+ and I have received mine already so I doubt that has anything to do with anything.
Keep in mind that there is more than one warehouse shipping the stuff out, and they each may be doing them in a different order. Some people mentioned their boxes came from California, I think. Mine is on the way from Michigan.
I just ordered a core set. The financial pain I feel is real, but the happy feeling is also here so that's good. I hope the players that were interested here are still interested. I hope this works. I also sent them an email just in case it's not a thing I can do.
It looks like I'll have my core set by tomorrow. My upgrade pack, on the other hand, seems to have been shipped via bicycle courier and is taking a bit longer. :(

For those that haven't gotten any notifications or charges yet they're shipping in the order you paid for said shipping and from the looks of it, just based off of mine and my friends experience, they don't charge your card until you're stuff is going to ship.
My upgrade pack apparently arrived yesterday though I never got a shipping email (to cruelly dangle hope in front of those waiting I guess; fits the theme at least). I paid the shipping fee on 10/12, recieved the payment processed email on 10/13 and the package was evidently shipped with FedEx on 10/17 from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The contents are suitably schnazzy, though I do have to get back to work so I can't snap pictures.
Received no shipping notice here, however, when i used the link to review my survey, the tracking number was there and I could use it to follow the progress here (a somewhat odd delivery - went from east MI to OH back to east MI then to west MI where I live over the course of a week.
Stuff just arrived - looks great so far, really nice packing anyway
I always cringe a little bit inside when I see something shipped SmartPost. I paid on the 13th, it shipped on the 17th from Michigan and as of today it's in West Virginia. Hopefully will get it Monday or Tuesday, but not hoping too hard.
Ha - yeah regarding dents - on mine I also had a pretty severe dent on the big box on one of the top edges and I figured it was certain to have damaged the interior but nope the Styrofoam protected the inner box just fine.
Yeah, lots of cardboard getting dented, but most games are doing very well. Far fewer reports of destroyed organizers and crushed corners. The delay and cost to move to triple-wall was definitely worth it.
That’s the Gold Smoke Knight - there was no Storm Knight expansion or anything (which I’m pretty gutted about).
This is extra weird because plastic Storm Knight sprues showed up on eBay sometime around the KS. I would have thought this would lead to an expansion.
Still not seen any international's received, always nerve-wracking when built models are popping up everywhere and you've not had the dispatch email yet!
I'm still getting nothing. It's been 7 days since my card was charged, and I have received no emails, no tracking and no board game. Almost everyone else in my area has their game!
Gonna give it until noon today, then I'll email support. :S
If it helps, I had to go through my spam folder to find the shipping notice. It didn't show up anywhere else, it wasn't labeled to look like other KD emails either.

Hey! Thanks, I've been monitoring my spam in case of this happening. But so far, nothing there either.
Might it have something to do with your being exiled in the desert? I'm on California's central coast (Between LA and SF) and I got shipping notification Monday, and delivery on Wednesday...but then the shipping hub was in California as well. If you haven't received notification yet, I'd send them a message and get them looking into it.

I no longer have my shipping notice, or I would tell you what email address it came from.
My box came from Michigan, though, so it may just depend on which warehouse it's coming from.

I live in New Mexico, and almost every person at my FLGS on Sunday had theirs! I'm waiting on a response from Adam.
JohnHwangDD wrote: Guys, it's 10,000 US backers. That's a pretty big number to fulfill. No need to panic until they say they're done with the US.
Yeah, that's true. I hadn't really considered it. I was really polite with my email, but I guess it's just my impatience. I played the game for the first time a year ago, and I've been jonesing ever since.
I wrote a mail to Ulisses yesterday asking about the shipping, since they're offering some of the storage space to distribute the game across europe.
The ship hasn't yet arrived yesterday and with customs and shipping the boxes from the harbor to the ware houses, etc. I was told it may take another 2 - 3 weeks for the game to arrive at my doorstep.
Sat down to start building the minis today; The Gold Smoke Knight is probably the worst fitting of all the (plastic) KD minis I've assembled. Just couldn't find a clean way to get either arm glued up without a large gap in the front or the back. Still a sharp looking mini, just going to need a little love before priming.
Just got my 1.5 upgrade last night. Read through all the new cards that changed. I'm really liking the changes that Mr. Poots made to the game. It will really add some new choices that will be difficult to make!
auticus wrote: I'm in the states and I haven't even gotten a tracking number yet.
Same. It's really nerve-wracking for me because almost everyone else in my City has actually gotten their games and upgrades, and I'm just sitting here nervously checking my email every half hour, each day!
Just a FYI for rest-of-world backers... I'm in the UK, and my 1.5 KS package arrived on Friday. Seriously looking forward to playing it in the evenings this week.
It amused me that this arrived on the same day as a boardgame KS with three expansions (Sub Terra); my Nickstarter for Ghost Archipelago alongside a modest order from Bad Squiddo; and some LARP lamellar armour in brass and steel... and KD:M was still heavier than the other three packages combined. Definitely a monster.
US based backed here, I got my delivery about ten days ago
Everything looks really neat... Just the tray insert for the box doesn't seem to work as intended, or maybe I am just too stupid:
How does one organise all the game contents into the tray insert ? The cards for example are too small to stay in the dug-outs in the tray/ the dug-outs aren't extreme enough to hold them in anyway. Does anyone have a good picture of how they organised their game contents neatly?
I meant the recess that is in the black plastic insert that ostensibly is for the cards. Either they are the wrong size or they are not meant for the cards and I don't understand where the cards are supposed to go .. like, is there no way to keep the cards sorted in their respective decks in the box and have them survive a car ride in that sorted fashion?
The walls of the tray are high enough such thay you can lean the cards at a slight angle so the dividers aren’t bent when you then place the showdown board on top. The hunt/settlement board, gear grid, and and record sheets go on top of that.
I’ve transported my 1.5 core arranged like that, carried and via car, with no issues. It won’t help if you like tip the box over or are driving at high speeds over rough roads to the point the box is bouncing around.
I had quite a bit in the cart and then a couple of them sold out before I could check out. Unfortunately, that just meant I didn't do anything because I wanted them all... so guess I'll have to try again another year.
Picked up the hard plastic pin-up set and fall dice.
Played our first game last Saturday. What an interesting experience. I think we liked it, but not sure. Can't stop thinking about the game, however, and that is a good sign.
Man, I got the email announcing the Halloween releases, saw the Forge God, and got really excited. Then I got a work call and by the time I finished it up, like three minutes later, they were sold out. I literally was grabbing my credit card to buy it before I got that call. Curse you, Kingdom Death and your high-demand, low-supply system of releasing models!
My shipping came through! And now I understand what the issue was, it's because I was a late backer, and they shipped late backers at the discretion of each shipping location, putting a preference on those who were there int he beginning!
According to the tracking I received last night, I should get my game at 4:00PM local time tomorrow! I'll post a picture as soon as it comes in!
It doesn't seem open for me.
Perhaps Poots is slowly rolling it out silently and slowly until an actual announcement on Friday itself.
If I can get it at the original price, I'd love to get in on the Oblivion Mosquito now that we can see the actual model itself. It looks much prettier and less disgusting than the concept seemed to suggest.
Oh damn. I'd forgotten all the expansions that I had to cut out of budget the first time around. I wish we could see the "Ivory Dragon" Satan model, however.
Huh. I thought I would jump at the opportunity to buy more when I could afford it, but nope. Passion's cooled. Maybe if Adam put out an update with more final designs or production models...
