Id say the LRR (with MM). LRR is nice, as you can drive 6 and fire TLAC and MM at 2 different tanks, then drive 6, 2 templates, assault.

It really depends on the role their used in. Normal for Long range anti-tank, crusader for assault, and redeemer for anti-infantry, in the mid-ground

It depends on the role; however, the Godhammer is more flexible in that it can be used in more roles than either of the other two, so the standard pattern gets my vote.

Yeah, I've got to give my vote to the Godhammer. You don't need anti-infantry when you are transporting Assault Terminators.

My death will be avenged millions of rapid fire las bolts, followed by a plethora of heavy weapons artillery and other colorful assortments of death that will send chaos crying back to the warp where they will remain until they come up with another one of their "original" plans

I thought it only had two twin-linked ones on the sides. Yeah Machine Spirit lets it shoot at another target, but that's only one weapon so you can shoot everything except one gun at a target while the last one can shoot at something else.

I also voted for the Godhammer. Don't even need to transport Terminators in it. Throw a Tactical Squad in it, park it on an objective and then you have a BS4 scoring Bastion with two twin-linked Lascannons and a twin-linked Heavy Bolter. I might be worth it to put the Storm Bolter on top as well if you have 10 points spare, to aid with stopping any advancing foot sloggers. While Lascannons are good against vehicles, they aren't against foot sloging infantry. The Storm Bolter isn't entirely needed, although I wouldn't even bother with the Hunter-Killer Missile the Lascannons are enough.

Crusader for me ... the landraider is a transport first, a gun platform second, and when ever i pick a transport i like to be able to fit in as many people as i can.

Crusader, You dont buy a land raider because of its weapons, you buy a land raider to

A. Transport terminators
B. Transport something valuable

16 slots > 12 slots > 10 slots (space wolves)
I will take transport capacity over weapon loadout any time i can fit more guys inside. if the most guys i can get in is 12 or less then ill field a redeemer*,
*better weapons
*less expensive
If i have multiple land raiders already, and one of them is going to be stuffed with a min-sized scoring unit, THEN they will get a godhammer.

Godhammer. Lots of Anti-Tank. And because it's the only Chaos one/the best GK one. Redeemer is cool too though. As for the Crusader...do you really need MORE bolters in an MEQ army?

I use all three versions and the crusader is my favorite due to the flexibility and the ability to drop more TH/SS terms on goal. The godhammer is next on the list for the long range lascannons. Lastly the Redeemer, but this is the only one I take the MM on.

The grey knights have a LR redeemer with TL Psycannons and the Flamestorm cannons cause instant kill against daemons ( I think).

But my ultimate fav LR (which isn't listed here) is the prometheus, with two TL Heavy bolters in the sponsons.

command tank ftw.

I vote for the standard one. Being able to fire a twin=linked lascannon while moving 12" isimmense.

It makes the land raider with 6 thunder hammer terminators brilliant against tanks and really heavy stuff.

Its cheaper to get anti horde weapons elsewhere than extra lascannons.

What are you guys throwing your termies at, to need 8 of them rather than 6.

What? Drive 6" shoot then drive another 6"? I'm pretty sure you CAN'T do that.

I personally liek the Regular Land RAider. 2 twin-linked Lascannons eat up most heavily armored opponents (such as other land raiders).

That's the thing though it would make no end of sense to let the LR fire those flamers no matter how far it moves (like the immolator) but you can't... it just makes the weapon almost unusable.

Move 12",
throw out your assault troops and burn a marines squad to death with your cover ignoring S6 AP3 template.
For what do I need 2 more terminators if I can have such firepower instead?
Not to mention that these pesky power fists or MCs will only hit you on a 6 !

I'm not going to pay 250 points for 6 bloody BOLTERS (!). I want more than just the firepower of a combat squad for the points.

Again thats the point you throw out your assault unit ... and effectively A) block the gun B) let the unit of SM fall back out of assault range. C) remove causality so you can't assault them.

But what ever you arm the LR with its going to suffer from the simple problem that its not going to be shooting more then one weapon a turn. The God hammer is the only LandRaider that works in any way as a gun platform it can happily crawl forwards 6" providing cover for the rest of your army firing off both Lascannons. If you're using the landraider as a transport with guns then Crusader is better.

GodHammer
Pro :- Best range, Best anti tank
Con:- Can only transport 12

Redeemer
Pro :- Strength 6 AP3 flamers
Con:- Can only transport 12, Weapons are short ranged (1(/2) 24" 2 template)

Crusader
Pro :- Can transport 16, Can fire all weapons when moving 6" (This includes the optional Multimelta but not HK missile)
Con:- All weapons have a max range 24" (excluding HK missile)

Imo the best land raider depends on what you want to do with your land raider.

If you want to protect a scoring unit inside that sits on an objective the godhammer is the best because it has las cannons you can shoot at transports with at long range.

If you want to deliver assault terminators you a redeemer with the multimelta is best since you have to get close to drop off your terminators anyway the flame storm cannons would be good vs infantry and the multimelta good vs tanks at close range.

The Land Raider Crusader seems only decent if you want to deliver 8 terminators instead of 6.

Prometheus isn't a command tank any more (all of those abilities are gone). Also, it's armed with four twin-linked heavy bolters so it's only getting full potential when stationary - on the move it's only firing 1/2 or 1/4 of it's fire power. Not ideal.

The flamestorm incinerators are the same as on the redeemer but they also deny invulnerable saves.

Normal landraider for me. I run my Terminators in a counter-assault fashion, so there's really no need to rush things. Those two twin-linked lascannons have saved my butt more than a bunch of bolters could, and since I run the Terminators with a librarian, I already have an AP3 template coming out with them (Avenger).

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.
