So, I used to love coffee. Recently though, I've been stuck on tea. And not that generic lipton stuff your grandma had in her pantry for the last 4 years. I go for the flavored stuff that costs more than $1 a box. Currently my favorite is Stash's Chai Spice Black Tea, with Peppermint a close second. I make a big cup of it (my work mug holds like 14 oz) and use 3 spenda packets.

So, what kinda tea do you like?

Tetley and PG tips at work.

Got given a chinese cup/mug thing, by one of my old customers that has an integral/removable strainer, I use leaf and green tea with this bad boy at home.

I laugh in the face of any non-UK country that claims to be able to produce a decent cup of tea.

Probably work

Yeah, Stash has a pretty good selection. They've got some pretty awesome white teas I remember having last winter. For me, tea is more of a winter thing, which is when I tend to drink a lot of it. I typically drink Bigelow's Earl Grey Tea. Mostly because it's awesome, but also so I can shout "Tea, Earl Grey. Hot!"

Hot tea is for winter, iced tea is for summer

I like the plain teas also, but 9 times outta 10 I'll go for one of the flavored kinds. I have about 6 different boxes going on my counter at home at any given time, but I always seem to take the Chai to work.

Yorkshire Tea ftw. Nobody else seems to like it, but they'll see; THEY'LL ALL SEE!

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. I'm in much the same boat as the OP. I used to be a rabid coffee fiend in the mornings, but recently it had been giving me stomach upset and I was forced to stop drinking coffee.

I still needed a hot beverage to drink with my breakfast however, and it was then that the world of tea opened it's doors to me.

It doesn't give my stomach trouble, it still has caffeine to get me through the morning, and it tastes SO MUCH BETTER. And with so many different varieties of teas, it is much more interesting and enjoyable than your everyday cuppa joe.

My favorite that I must have every morning is Twinnings Irish Breakfast Tea. It's fantastic!

Also, we have this Ukrainian yoga master come stay at our house every so often, and when he comes he sometimes brings his own mix of herbs and spices from the monsatery in the himalayas where he studies, and he and my mom (one of his students) make tea with it. I've had it before and it's quite good!

I prefer my Irish Breakfast Tea though.

Well, for your generic, watching telly, fancy a brew cuppa, I buy PG Tips, which has a slightly less harsh taste than Tetley when you accidentally make it a little too strong. Tetley is a perfectly acceptable brew, as well, however. A strong contender is the above mentioned Yorkshire Tea, which I drink when I visit the home of my friend from Yorkshire. She buys the "for hard water" variety, as we live in London. However, I find that a bit odd, as I've almost always lived in a hard water area, and am used to it. I've never found water around here all that hard anyway. Soft enough to shower in, for example.

If I am going for something else, I'm currently a big fan of Assam, which has a similar taste to English Breakfast like all of the above named brands, but a slightly smoother taste, and the tiniest hint of something, maybe caramel-ish. I prefer the Twinnings version, but am currently getting through a batch of Tesco's Finest, as the store was out. I also like Redbush tea, though I find it a bit... boring. I love Orange Pekoe, and as long as it is brewed quite strong, I'll drink Ceylon. I'll not touch Earl Grey as it tastes how sweaty socks smell. I love properly prepared Chai tea, but I see it as something that should be crafted by an expert, not just a tea bag thrown in a cup.

For fruit teas, I love apple, strawberry and the like.

When drinking a green tea, I am especially blessed, as the school I used to work at in Japan actually had its own farm, and their premium brand tea used to win national awards. I tend to only drink green tea when eating Japanese food.

What about using regular bags vs those special tea kettles where you dump the leaves into a little screen bucket thingy?

There's a specialty tea shop nearby at the mall where they sell all kinds of fancy contraptions .. but so far all the tea I've tried was stuff you can get from any supermarket...

Earl Grey with lemon. Such a nice taste when you just don't want anything sweet. Failing that a good cup of builders tea (that's PG tips/Tetleys/Tesco's own with the tea bag left in and loads of milk and sugar.)

Uhhrmm, that sickenly sweet sugar water that some people try to pass off as tea? Drinking that stuff's more like drinking syrup than anything else.

Win when you can, lose if you must, but ALWAYS cheat.

The weiner legions will not dirty themselves in our pesky human conflict. Especially as its cold this time of year and that weiner dogs like them some warm binkies in the winter!

Its whippy sticks at dawn sir!

Iced tea my arse! Bunch of cider drinking pansies.

I like my Yorkshire tea, made from the lesser polluted rivers, which you can still find if you look close enough and strain out the bits. Brewed in a big mug for 3 minutes stirred with a pigeons foot. For body.

If I am not in my room, is it still my room?

How strong is their chai? My ex-girlfriend used to make it for me from scratch and it was amazing. Best medicine in the world for sore throats and jammed up sinuses. I've tried a multitude of commercial chai, but nothing has come close yet.

I'd imagine something homemade would blow away a tea bag from a store. I never had "real" chai. This is just black tea with some spicey stuff like a lot of cinnamon and some other things I probably can't pronounce or spell, but it tastes good

My remedy for a sore throat and stuffy nose is really strong tea (as in using 2 bags instead of 1) with 1 lemon halls dissolved in it and a little extra honey

Ah,I too enjoy a good spot of tee, despite being american.

Half and half: Earl Grey and Green

Up to six teaspoons of sugar ( I like it very sweet. It has to compare to coffee if I'm going to drink it)

A spot of honey, depending on my mood.
