You definitely don't want to find out what this new Imperial simian ally's close range weapon is, not at all.

You know, I really really would have laughed, except you misspelt faeces, which, to a degree, reduces the effect of the poster.
Still, it doesn't mean I'm not going to make those into small warhammer sized posters, and stick them on some of my buildings.

, GW are falling badly into a set routine with marine releases: marines and then add some tricks, thinking outside the box a little more surely wouldnt hurt.
They did, they added stormravens and weird gigantic robots and all they got in return was a whining orgy.
I pretty much like everything I've seen from this new release. Seriously, to the point that I'm thinking of starting up a GK army.
I even like the Dreadknight. Incidentally, whilst people are photoshopping pics of it, perhaps someone could oblige me by shopping dreadlocks onto the dreadknight? Anyone?
I agree. There are things that tick me of both in the fluff, rules and miniatures but overall this release means I´m going through with my GK army.
Regarding all the pics:
The fun thing is mods dont like text quotes just for the sake of adding an one liner to them but apparently reposting dozens of huge lamea** pictures on every page with the sole purpose of adding a " lol" to them is ok. Weird but I guess there must be a reason behind it.
Land Raiders and Stormravens always take up a Force Org. slot, they may never be taken as Dedicated Transports.
What a bad decision that is, talk about limiting LR sales.
I thought expensive squads kind of made a case for dedicated transports to at least save slots.
The BA got that.
So is anyone else pissed at the fact that Psycannons, GK's primary anti tank, are 24" for both heavy and assault?
Seriously?
If true that sucks so much behind it´s not even close to being funny.
Oh and no more purgation shooty line build for me so less money to GW so that´s kind of a karma balance right there.
...if true that is.
Most of those complaints of mine weren't about rules specifically, it was about the spirit of the codex, which Ward failed to transition even decently. I could honestly care less about how powerful the dex is, the question is whether or not it actually feels like the same one I played in 3rd. Is it an army I would pick up today for the same reasons if I had never used the old codex? The Dreadnought, stat reductions, and Mary Sue fluff takes away from the heroic desperation that characterized the book before.
Mobility and options are nice, but I want some heart, too, y'know?
And what again was the spirit of the codex, to auto loose every time you put your GKs on a tabletop?
Sure I agree, some of the "feeling", the elite-dness of no longer being WS5 and fearless and S6 hurts but overall more things make up for it and also give back that feeling.
You have S5 across the board now with easy options for S6 and even S7 in Cc with Cc against vehicles being given even more of that elite feel.
If you are a glutton for playing the non-can-win underdog army then build your lists accordingly, no one is forcing you to use a competitive army but most people out there like having a somewhat 50-50-ish chance of winning or loosing with their armies. Not saying this aim is reached buy its far better then the previous codex ever had.
Besides =I= builds are really fun now if you are able to stand the end-of-the-world loss of WS4 stormtroopers.
Crowe:
Hmm, mixed feeling about that one. He is pretty good for the points but requires a careful play style. Not allowing to be charged will be quite a fun challenge.
Still think a captain is a better choice for purifyer heavy mixed builds.

I'm actually starting to think that you're trolling now.
Bramgaunt said on warseer after you posted, that it's the Psybolter that is 24" in assault/heavy NOT the psycannon
BramGaunt is looking at the German codex it seems, and he's clarified that the Psybolter = Psycannon. Who's trolling?
Unless, of course, you know of a different weapon with both an assault and heavy profile? It was pretty obvious in the first place.

8000 points of XI Legion the Space Vagabonds, they can adapt their tactics to represent any and every Legion and Chapter as needed because they were created by the Emperor to be the ultimate tactical power. They have faked their disappearance in order to infiltrate every part of the conflicts in the galaxy.
8000 points of Tau/Craftworld Eldar/Necron because the Space Vagabonds can also emulate their wargear and tactics.
Victories: ALL
Losses: NONE (My armies have the psychic ability to conjure a cataclysmic storm whenever they are about to lose. This allows the Space Vagabonds to teleport away while releasing power waves that destroys the battlefield and so every battle is a victory)

Right, because Dakka represents the whole of the 40K community. Don't suppose you've taken a look at the "Who likes the Dreadknight" poll here? Even if Dakka was a microcosm of the 40K world, your "whining orgy" would be unfounded.

After 40 pages of pictures and random jokes, you're going to nitpick and hope that they start enforcing restraint now?

The BA got that.
So, not only do you want to focus purely on sales (you don't work for GW, do you?) but you want all chapters (even marines that aren't chapters) to be the same? Space Wolves got Long Fangs - you don't want those too?

at the same time we ex-colonials overthrew the shackles of the british monarchy, so too did we abolish the use of superfluous silent vowels. you may be suprised to know that is the CORRECT spelling across the pond where the majority of english speakers live.

since i'm apparently the only person who is excited about the 2 wound paladins, i'll ask the question. does anyone know if their entry has changed since the previous leak/rumors? do they still get the same options for the same cost? i heard a mention that halberds might cost points now but that was in regard to regular grey knights.

Head over to the Draigo thread where the Mary Sue thing was pretty soundly shot down after we actually quoted the fluff rather than relying on second hand accounts to make judgements.

Also could someone who's seen the codex tell me if dreadknights can use 30 inch jump move for personal teleporters as the scout move granted by grand strategy please?

For a moment I thought I was looking at a Failseer thread, then realised it was Dakka.
The Dreadknight (somewhat like the Chibli Hawk) is much better once you see the kit. I'm still in the 'don't like' group for the 'hawk, but the Knight is fantastic. I give it a week before a lot of people change camps and start whining against their whining here.
Grey knights didn't have a great deal of detail going into this book, and for better or worse there now is more. I like some of the ideas and concepts that have come out, and untill I have tried to use them in game I'm not going to come down on either side of the fence. I like it that we finally have another Jokaero mini, I haven't been able to put my mitts on an original one.
One comment I will make though, is it me or are all the wrist mounted storm bolters about 10-20% too large?

Watching this thread gives us some small tidbits of new information:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/352439.page
Namely that all nemesis force weapons are indeed ACTUAL force weapons. Also a single psychic test for the unit will make ALL wounds caused by the unit that phase cause instant death. Say goodbye to that big unit of bloodcrushers. A single unit of grey knights will tear them up.

I think it's a term that came from the world of fan-fiction: basically, when an author adds a character to an established setting that is the best at everything and basically beloved and wonderful,T he canon example was apparently a writer of Star Trek fanfiction that included a character in her stories that was most likely an idealized version of herself, was exceptional ine very way tot he rest of the crew, and generally had enough awareness of the setting to say "Everything would be so much better if you'd just do THIS and THIS."
The more modern usage has generally downgraded it to just be any character that has an unfair amount of awesomeness applied to it, especially in an established setting.
See TV Tropes for more info, but book an afternoon.
I don't know if the Grey Knights Codex can really have 'Mary Sue' writing in it. perhaps if Inquisitor Matt Ward makes an appearance, with his bodyguard of Grey Knight Justicars and Sensei and Inquisitor Ward also is keeping tabs on the Dark Angels (he knows their secrets. All of them), Blood Angels (Sanguinius said he wished Inquisitor Ward was his real daddy), Space Wolves (He out-drank Bjorn), etc. Oh, and he's receiving insights from the Emperor.
Still, I'm guessing this is a manifestation of people's opinions that the Grey Knights have gone from dire last-line-of-defense secretive heroes of the Imperium to more outright superhero types in the new fluff.
