I was just wondering what happened to this thread now that the cave is somewhat clean... I wish one day to have something like rangerrob has, the space for a table would be sweet.

It's a good system.

My theory is its a rental. A few things bring this to mind...

1. None of the furniture matches

2. The paintings/artwork arent hung.

3. You would need a very supportive partner to let your hobby spill that far out of the man-cave.

Just kidding. Im jelly!

I bought them from a shop called Geländestücke/ESLO. Get the pre-assembled ones unless you're a sucker for frustrating builds. I did a little write-up on them on meh blog; http://px40k.blogspot.com/2011/05/review-another-paint-storage.html

I prefer these over the carousel ones. YMMV though. These aren't as space effective and cats tend to want to hide behind them.

I usually just link back to my post in a previous thread, but hey - new digs, new (old) thread, new pics! Didn't move too long ago, so we're not 100% set up, yet, but since people are giving nearly whole house tours (or at least including all rooms tangentially related to gaming/sleeping), this is the current state of things (pics in spoilers to save page length and load time):

First, the living room:
Spoiler:

Still awaiting some more shelving (third bookcase and, ideally, a Dettolf shelf for my sloooooooowly growing collection of fully painted miniatures, and somewhere to put the rest of my game consoles and the turntable), but otherwise as it will be. The hypothetical Infinity table would likely take up that deliciously free floorspace on gaming nights and get stored upstairs the rest of the time.

Next, the bedroom:
Spoiler:

Pretty minimalistic, but with only two of us and more than one room in which to toss all of our crap, I rather like it that way. Should feel a bit more home-y once we get the rest of the paintings up. And I'm totally blaming the random tossed-about crap on her. Partly because it's true, partly because she'll never read this.

Finally, the... well, I'm not quite sure what to call it. "Craft room" sounds like more macaroni and popsicle stick gluing happens than actually does (that being none), but I have trouble calling it a man-cave. For one, my girlfriend claimed a corner for her supplies and a chair - feels wrong to say "This is my man-cave. Oh, except for that part. That's the knitting nook." I also have far more badass dreams for my ideal hobby space, so this room would be a bit of a copout. Either way, here's where the hobby happens, when it happens:

View from the door:
Spoiler:

From the work table to my computer desk (note: tubs of yarn are not mine; also, should've opened the blinds - I'm about 20 feet of grass away from rather scenic forest):
Spoiler:

Closeup of closet (note: unused vertical space, plan to get more plastic drawers; also, mirrored doors - the left side actually contains tool/army cases and a few plastic tubs):
Spoiler:

More storage (wire shelves hold bits, basing supplies, and tools; wood shelves hold gaming books, pipes/cigars, and WIP terrain):
Spoiler:

And, finally, the main work area:
Spoiler:

I've laid out everything I'm using for my current project, so the usable table space looks far more limited than it actually is. Having floor space to move my storage off the table top has made a huge difference. Other than that, not too much has changed. I've grown accustomed to things being where they are, so I didn't want to break whatever system I had developed. For comparison, here's my previous setup:
Spoiler:

There's still a lot that can be done, both to my hobby space and the place, in general, but I'm pretty comfortable with things as they are, so unless money starts rolling in at unprecedented rates, I'm in no hurry.

Girls come over to my place all the time.

Albeit, they're usually there to see the wife.

I'll grab new pics of my still horrendously messy(but just slightly less cluttered) hobby room.
