My theory is its a rental. A few things bring this to mind...


1. None of the furniture matches

2. The paintings/artwork arent hung.

3. You would need a very supportive partner to let your hobby spill that far out of the man-cave.

Just to clarify....

1) I moved from a 3000fs place to a 10000 sf place, so I snagged all the extra furinture i could from my mom and sis plus some of it was left here after they cleaned it out(This was my grandfathers place).

2) I had only been here a month or so when the pic was taken. Im a bit fussy about where art should hang so it took almost 6 months to get everything hung.

3) Im not married. And the girl i was seeing at the time wasnt allowed any imput on where things went.

4) I figured.. No worrys.

I only got this place because my Uncle gave me such a great deal. I paid less than half of the price they would have asked if it went on the open market. Huge change I can tell you. I was living near downtown Houstin and now i live in a forrest about an hour away from the nearest game store. LOL

@Nicorex, know that situation, its very nice and fortunate to have it happen isn't it. I got my great one through family company work for and a housing site which already had some built. snagged one up fraction of the cost and still smiling ear to ear.

previous builders had kitted it out with al the tricks, smart homes audio in rooms, beam vacuum system to name a few, and nice big rooms. I can see why they went bankrupt, and thank god they did as it meant i got a cracking deal!

@theunicorn: You do know that the models like to be painted, right?

I have been stripping the paint from most of the models I have picked up from ebay and other people getting out of the hobby. Once I get my conversions done and cases ordered I will start airbrushing them. I am weird in that I would rather see an unpainted army on the field instead of a badly painted / mismatched army.

I love threads like this. It's cute to get a little peek into other people's lives.
And because I got to enjoy all these wonderful images I owe you guys some of mine.

Going to throw a pic of my workspace here as well to share. This is an older pic I had from a few months back. Since then I've upgraded my airbrush equipment, got rid of the printer on my top shelf and sold the Logitech G27 steering wheels and pedals (seen under the desk) so my workspace is a bit cleaner overall. The Ultramarine honor guards and Warmachine figs seen in the pic are still unpainted though.

Eggroll, I'm jelly. Very nice work area you have. Is that an airbrush to the far right?

Thanks. Yup it's my old iwata airbrush setup. Got me through a lot of BA models.

Wow nice looking man-cave =o] Is that thunderhawk a FW one or a custom one? It looks freaking amazing as does the Howling Griffons. I spot some RT era ones in there they look great.

Your Contemptor looks great also, really good work on your yellow.

I have just switched computers and I am having a bitch of a time loading my pic's on here. When I do I will post some of my man-cave.

The tower o' power - including a large number of boxes for warhammer quest, (old) space hulk, Necromunda and various 40 starter sets filled with terrain bits off the picture at the bottom, and some HomeMade (TM) army trays.


Work desk


Draws o' doom - containing paints, my bits collection(s), dice, templates, terrain making stuff (static grass, flock, etc), some smaller terrain pieces, and other associated painting and modeling supples.

Seriously, the mess some of you guys live/work in would drive me insane.
I'll have to take some pictures later.
