have you considered this thread:

that man makes insane stuff from cardboard... and he did a cathedral from it... and then moved on to more insanely beautiful stuff... not that you need any further incouragement for creating stuff on that level yet...as you are fully capable of that on your own^^

Oh yeah, 2500 is a lunatic with the cardboard!

Ok guys, let's explain my idea...first a bad news, making a dome or a cathedral is impossible due to the huge size of it...a 24x24 inches it's not enough, sorry guys...BUT, when dstein talks about flying buttress, something in my mind start to grow, and it's an epic thing, if I cannot make a cathedral ,I'll make a church, not a simple gothic church, an Epic gothic church...well, Gothic means exagerate in details, and then exagerate even more and more, so why not make the entire church "a single detail" ?? let's see the drawing :

Top view

Frontal view

I'm not good in drawing as for building, but it's just to understand...this is an example, not the definitive drawing, the church needs details I know, What do you think??needs some changes??

Yeah, scale is definately something to keep in mind. This curch is on a 2x2 base, and it is really too big, that is why I got the wrought iron fencing to build a courtyard around it.

This one ended up being 4" wide! and without even building the towers yet. SO it is abandoned for the time being, until I work out the details of whether it will be in multiple sections or what.

I'd say (if possible) make it evenly centered on a table and segmented in a way that it could be placed across three 4'x2' board sections. the cathedral IS the tabletop... or more specifically the ruins of the cathedral.

Wow.... I'm very, VERY impressed by this... Consider me subbed - so many fantastic ideas here... I especially love the idea of making the cathedral in the shape of the aquila - that just seems so typically like the Imperium I'm genuinely surprised I haven't seen the idea before....

Keep up the fantastic work!

Hi guys, I'm back!!
First of all the church/cathredal project is on stand by due to A LOT of problem in doing it...first of all money, and second the size because using a single module it's not enough so I need to find a way to make it in another way...
So I Start to add details to the existing building I add the parquet floor, and tile floor, some rubble, brick, a civic number and a WC too on the outside now there's a gutter and to keep it hanged there're some strips with rivets!!! Dstein was right....with rivets everything is better......Here're the shots :

Spilt what do you refer with "quite realistic & believable" ? If it's for the various object/rubble I had to keep as more free space as possible to make the building playable, I'd like to put A LOT of rubble but I can't

my only question i am able to ask here is how do you make such convincing looking brickwalls...what do you use as a means to be so precise on that scale and yet have so many numerous details??? other than that... i am in awe...

As for aquila's just break a few in half and scatter the pieces sround the build. Put a few on walls intact or even laying on the ground intact. Like the rest of your wonderful rubble or the civic number you have in there.....

They could also be incorporated into cornerstones and other brick parts, under windows and even on doors. Kenoda over on warseer did a very good job of incorporating them: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?19386-Forbidden-City-40k-(city-fight-project)

i said this because i think that this building looks like a miniature of a real building, destruction is believble, seems like it came right out of a WWII movie
