Just be sure to thin them... especially foundation paints! (they've got a lot of pigment)

Still moving slowly along with Gitsplitta's and Artsoldier35's - hope to get some more progress on both this week...

I recently (a month ago?) started having the same problem with my iPhone 3GS/Mac - I've had to start copy/pasting them into new files in an image editor I raised a thread then in Nuts and Bolts - but it would be nice to know its not just me!

Hmm, I'm also on my mac. Is there a pattern here? Any other Apple users experiencing problems with the gallery?

Brother Fwuapuu of the Ice Angels, built and painted by Ice himself! He had a neat Ice Angel base but I dropped him and the cool bits on the base broke off and disappeared into the mists of my studio floor. So I based him like the rest of the squad (technically 2 squads now!). Sorry Ice.

OH, the bolt pistol is an Ice Angel original, the big bolter is my approximation of the Ice Angel pattern. Not quite right but close...

Man.... Foundation paints are a PAIN to airbrush! At least the pot I had was...
I dunno if it was old or what, but it just did not want to spray at all!

That said, I got the three marines I had based.

One for Gits, painted via brush, before I had the airbrush:

And for vent:

And for Lennysmash:

Eventually Ill figure out this airbrush- but its still a hell of a lot faster than by hand!

An auspiscious beginning Ramos. I think the paint blend for an airbrush is a fairly tricky thing to get right. How much did you thin the foundation paint?

My measurements might have been off a bit, but I think the first time, I tried a 50-50 paint-water mix (with a little flow release and retarder as well) This got a great opacity for the first few passes, but ended up clogging real fast.

Second time was more along the lines of 1 part paint to 3 parts water. This let me spray for longer, though in the end it too, clogged.

The sprayed foundation paint seems weaker than if it were just brushed on, as I can scratch it off with a fingernail. This can probably be remedied with some clear coat. I probably thinned the paint a little too much.

Have you looked to see if there was a Vellejo Air that is remotely close to the foundation color? It's a great line of paints but I wish there was more color variation. Maybe one of their regular colors that was close & could be more easily thinned to work in the airbrush... I'm just thinking that those foundations paints might be formulated in a way that is antithetical to use in an airbrush.

I havent had the chance to look at other paints (hobby store is a bit out of the way from where I live), Ive only been able to Check GW, P3, Vallejo Game Color, and Model color.

Im still on the hunt, but Im not too sure if there is a match to the color and tone of the Foundation ><
All I can do for now is experiment and search. Hopefully I can either make it work or find a match

I like the new base! That sucks that he got busted though. Nice job with the bolter and shoulder pad. I look forward to seeing him in one of those awesome group shots, maybe even in a battle rep in the future!

He looks great with the crowd! Can't believe how many guys I've accumulated already... 11 total! I'm not in a rush to get the other 9... but eventually I hope they will come & then boy will I have an awesome tactical section to my army! I keep hoping Yggs will come in (afraid it's lost in the Atlantic somewhere) so I can take another group shot. Will keep my fingers crossed anyway.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

So I got a marine in the mail yesterday from someone in the UK, and I have no clue who sent it! Its a RT bolter marine with brown paint and green hands. They style it was done in is not pointing me to anyone I can think of tbh, and I feel like a jerk for not knowing who sent it!

If all else fails, I'll ask an Admin to run the name for me, if they can, to find the mystery person. The confusing part is how did they get my address?
