Ha! In terms of plasticard - the Stormboy Nob has very little - and it was very simple - just the wings. Literally cut four strips and overlay them. Run a thin strip down the top and two thin strips down the join side to "neaten", then add rivets - easy! (Compared to the Trukks!)

I guess I should have said it also reminded me of your awesome Trukks indeed...

HAHA, mystery solved! The marine in question is from Kilkrazy and is one of his Dust Devils. Took some sleuthing, but I figured it out.

Latest addition to my Mantis Warrior forces (through the Inquisition of course)... Yggs' Brother Tanaerum of the Achylsian Reavers! (and the incredible letter he sent with him!)





I am very lucky to have received such a beautiful figure in the GMS. Going to be a tough thing to provide equal value in return.

I have to admit I was a bit sad to part with it, but I'm now more happy than sad. That's just a plastic toy, after all

The base is kinda special indeed, it really emphasizes his charging pose... I love it!

As for the letter... I actually spent a hard night downloading all sorts of fonts for OpenOffice, which is less intuitive than Word when trying to add fonts, then testing each and everyone of them to find the ones I liked most... And eventually, putting it all into shape as I was coming up with the fluff! The end of the story was a bit influenced by the fact I had promised Gitsplitta to send some unused Chaos chainswords for his MW scythes...

But you all seem to enjoy it, so I guess it was worth it!!!

Wow. I thought it was a downloadable ' inquisitorial letter maker' or something. It looks great

A had a bloody battle yesterday and I took this pic of some of the marines from the Great Marine Swap that took part. Inigo, Inushi, Evrard, and Walters are in that picture. Brother Aquilum was on the battlefield too but in another unit. Everyone in this picture died except Captain Ruusa (jump pack guy) and the Astral Claw (orange guy). I randomized it and unfortunately Inushi and Walters were the first two to go. I will say though, they killed that entire 9 man warrior unit, some had already died before the picture was taken. They also murdered some gaunts, but that's not much of an achievement.

Poor bunch...

You'll probably hate me for this post - I tend to dislike random new comments this far into a thread, but how do you participate in this swap? It seems like a great deal of fun and I'd love to make my own contribution.

Must be the day for many of the GMS marines to make their battlefield debut. ISS-alpha took the field today for the first time. Did pretty well, they podded into the necron rear in order to have a go at some warriors hiding behind a monolith. Killed the squad about 2.5 times before a dread joined the fray and they finally destroyed the unit permanently. Then the short squad (4 guys by that time) charged the *other* necron squad hiding behind the monolith and put them to flight causing a phase out! So... I'd say they did pretty well. Here's a pic of the battle ensuing.

The swap is simple, you send a PM to someone that you want to do a swap with. You then agree to swap something, like a marine for a marine, an ork for an ork, or a trukk for a trukk, etc. You then paint your guy to the best of your ability, typically in your own colors and the other person does the same. You then mail your marine to the other person, hence the trade part of the arrangement.

Perfect example, my post above there is a green marine named brother Inushi, in the other battle picture from Gitsplitta just above my post there is a picture with a black armored marine with orange guns. That was my swap with Gitsplitta.

So to recap, Gitsplitta has one of my Ice Angels and I have one of his Mantis Warriors. This is a great thread, I hope you find some people to do some swaps. We could use some fresh names and pictures!

Posting a pic of your work would be good too. I hope you stick around and arent to intimidated. I really want some fresh (or reinterested) blood to join our foolish endeavors.

This morning I agreed to finally enter the fray by putting together a Red Scorpion sergeant with a power fist and plasma pistol for Gitsplitta in return for one of his awesome Mantis warriors.
I can't start on it until sometime next week, but hey. You can't get everything in one post can you?!

there are really no rules or anything,you just offer to swap a marine, and you and the other person figure out exactly what kinda marine, and how to swap it. Nothing really intense about it, it is pretty laid back, and we can vouche for everyone who has done a trade already since i haven't heard of any unsucessful trades yet save when the mailmen decide to send them weeks late hahahahaha.

so if you wanna trade, im down for one!

I'm afraid your guy is gonna have to go through yet another delay (of about a week) I neglected my duties at the academy a little and have a bunch of 2D painting to do before they will let me go on my internship

@BBL: I do have a sniper scouts. I have a unit in one of my armies, as well as two half painted metal ones. The sniper scouts i do have are unpainted but are glued together.
