they show the white robed character right after the narrator finishes saying "tech priests of the adeptus mechanicus", they show the known tech priest character while the narrator is saying "tech priests of the adeptus mechanicus".

0:39 is where the white robed character is shown. He's still in the processing of saying "Tech-Priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus" as it fades from one to the next.

Not when there's technology that could be doing the same "coating in purply flame".
It sure as hell isn't a Psyker, because even the lowliest and most expendable Psyker is given an Amplifier(that bit that's bolted onto the Sanctioned Psyker models' heads).

Meh, believe what you want.
Personally I dont think they'd be showcasing 2 classes of the same "faction" in their initial footage, buat as I said earlier he doesnt really like like an Inquisitor to me either.
I do however think that the average 40k player will look at him and think, "ooh a Psyker!"

See, here's the problem.
They've already stated that, much like "The Old Republic" each class will have different 'pathways'. The examples they gave at Gamescom in a brief interview(which I'm looking for again) were quite specifically the one I've been putting forth about Techpriests.
You'd be sacrificing having Combat Servitors and enhancements that make you a close combat beast, in return for getting ranged damage capabilities and non-combat Servitors that act as a kind of healing capacity for yourself and your group. Automatically Appended Next Post: Necrosis wrote:I don't believe Inquisitors wear Amplifiers.
If they're Psykers, they do. The only time they don't is when they're really, really far down the totem pole in terms of psychic ability.

Looking at that picture I'd say ( from right to left) : Marine scout, just about visible tech priest, sanctioned psyker in white, an Inquisitor in the back ( maybe something guard related perhaps) and a marine.

I lived for player-city building in SWG. Go B-crats!
Then the combat upgrade ruined everything.
(TK's were ridiculous though.)
Back to this thread, I dont see Genetors or Electro-priests having much place in Dark Millenium. While it's true they exist, so does a space marine chapter called "The Rainbow Warriors." - All we know about them is that in Rogue Trader one is shot by a SoB.
Point being that while there are some obscure IP's, it's unlikely we will see them in game over the more popular and well known entities. All in all, I think the Pro-Admech's have it backwards.
Is it possible this guy is an electropriest with purple voltage-bolts? Sure.
It's far more likely however that he's a Psyker ( A non admech one) and that you're simply playing devils advocate.

"Different paths". I'm almost positive I've said that a few times now...

The difference being that Genetors and Electro-priests are still in the canon, and pretty recently even were mentioned in novels.
Genetors being something that accompany Imperial expeditions to reclaim or survey new worlds--there's a great chance for them "having a place in Dark Millenium".
Electro-priests being a common sight in Mechanicus forces supporting other Mechanicus Priesthood members means there's also a great chance for them "having a place in Dark Millenium".
ph34r wrote:Oh sorry, I don't know what a Genetor looks like, You clearly do! Because _______________!
Great stuff there Kanny!
I'm going off of loose descriptions of Genetors. Which has them(much like every NOVICE Tech Priest, even the Enginseers) as not having much in the way of bionic enhancements.
The point is, I don't have imagery of them--because none exists. There's only verbal descriptions of them, specifically in "Mechanicum".
There's also nothing on him that suggests an Inquisitor or a Psyker besides "a purple cloud", "big shoulderpads", and "a sword". An Inquisitor would have an Inquisitorial Rosette present on him somewhere, anywhere, and not be limited to just carrying a sword by itself(even if he were a Psyker).
Any kind of Sanctioned Psyker of any real "quality" for his powers--would be fitted with an Amplifier around his shaved scalp. There's nothing, as such, on him. Not to mention that even the lowliest of Sanctioned Psykers are accompanied by minders from the Adeptus Telepathica or the Commissariat in the field.
The point is, it's entirely possible that it is something we've never seen before in actual image format.
They have free reign over 40k's background. It's absurd to think they'd pick only things with Codex entries or pictures to work from.

reds8n wrote:Looking at that picture I'd say ( from right to left) : Marine scout, just about visible tech priest, sanctioned psyker in white, an Inquisitor in the back ( maybe something guard related perhaps) and a marine.
I highly doubt it's a Marine Scout on the right. He's carrying a Lasgun. Even the lowliest of Marine Scouts carry bolters or bolt pistols.
Quite frankly, I think it's more likely that the "high tech" guy with the lasgun, and the guy in the back with the shotgun are both Guardsmen--but having gone down a kind of Hardened Veteran pathway, losing the ability to control a squad while gaining more firepower and individual equipment for themselves.

I suppose so, I downloaded the IoM trailer off of big downloads so I could pull clean individual frames from it like this one...
Also it doesn't make sense to have a playable class of something from 40k that dose not have an image to it or has very lose description to it only mentioned in a select few books where the average 40k player won't know what it is. Now if a Genetor was an npc quest giver or mentioned in a quest description that would make sense for the hardcore 40k players whom read a lot of the books and know a lot of be back story to 40k to understand what the character npc is and it would be like a little Easter egg for them. I really hope that Vigil Games adds little things like that in the game much like what the developers did for Bat Man Archem Asilrm, they had a lot of little hints and minor obscure references to the Bat Man comics that only hard core readers and enthusiasts knew about and it made that game all that better for them, and I really hope Vigil games adds alot of little things like this because it will allow the players who know the references to get all that more in depth into the game.
Because If Vigil Games had those little easter eggs in 40K DMO I bet you would just eat them up like a fat kid on a cup cake and you would have that much more fun in DMO.

That's the point man. They don't need everything to immediately be recognizable to the casual fan, nor does it have to be something already shown off in an image format.
This is their chance to bring things from the dark into the light and introduce them to people.
Look at what they did with Age of Reckoning. How many "casual Warhammer fans" knew why the Shadow Warriors protected one specific stretch of coastline?
What about the Order of the Griffon?
Or the Iron Wolves of Tzeentch?
They get to make the obscure--far more accessible.

I have been going to this site.
http://www.warpwatchers.com/index.php?app=portal
They were warhammer40konline.net. But with recent actions by GW they decided it would be a better decision to change their name to warpwatchers.com before being ordered to.
The site UI is clean and the people are not too bad. Some of the MODS seem to have been communicating with Vigil and trying to get them to release info for the site...to which they haven't received any solid info but they also haven't been ignored.
