I hadn't heard anything about the multiplay but given how many orks 1 Space marine fights in the trailers I've seen I think the multiplayer if any will be limited to SM V CSM team deathmatch and story Co-op.

Well 1-4 players fight roughly 1 million zombies in Left 4 Dead, for example, but multiplayer is equal numbers humans vs. zombies in certain modes. Just saying the single player isn't always indicative of how multiplayer modes work. I think they would be foolish not to have extensive multiplayer modes like most games do these days. Anyway, I don't really want to get off topic too much talking about games that aren't Dark Millenium.
As for DM itself, I think it looks promising, I haven't ever gotten into MMOs before, but this I may try just because it's 40k. Aslong as I can run around killing dudes as a Daemon or CSM I'm in! I wonder if we will see legions of players running around as Khorne Berserkers Leeroy Jenkins-style, you know, to keep it fluffy.

That is a distinctly different game. That is Space Marine, this is Dark Millennium Online. The title is in this thread's title, the video declaring that it's a far different game is in the OP, and there's already a Space Marine game thread.

pretty much its expected to appeal to MASS warhammer players
so basically dark eldar and such are on the back burner (or the no burner!)
my opinion? DONT GET HOPES UP until say Q3-4 of 2012. this game is not slated till 2013. so really kinda moot to talk about this

Why would they tidy things up? They learned their lesson from Warhammer Online. Making tech requirements too high means less people buying it. Look at World of Warcraft. The system requirements are a joke; half decade old machines can run it as well as a brand spankin' new machine.
That's the secret to getting people into your game. Making it easily accessible.

This game looks more and more dissapointing.
What I was hoping would be a FPS or possibly 3rd person shooter tied to RPG elements (like fallout or planetside) is looking more and more like a WoW Clone where everyone is shooting.
Space Marine: "Space Marines! A group of Chaos there, up that hill! Burn the heretic!"
Space Marine 2: "We can't dood."
Space Marine: "Why not, battle brother?!"
Space Marine 2: "Because it's 2 am and there's no healers online. Weve been spamming lfg and got no response. Besides, you aren't spec'd to tank and without you holding aggro those Chaos Space Marines will run rampant and 1 shot everyone else in the party. I think I'm going to log here and hop on WoW. My guid might be raiding tonight."
Space Marine: "F'ing lame."

Hey! I've got a good idea, let's talk about how much a game is going to suck before it's even in open beta! Clearly, the best way to rate something is through watching a video alone. Only idiots wait to judge a game until they've heard feedback from people in player testing.

Metallifan <3's sarcasm it seems.
They've announced a WoW style Tiered Talent System.
They've announced a WoW style GUI.
The graphics.. well, I still play FF Tactics. I dont particularly care about those, but if it were important to me, I certainly wouldnt be impressed, especially considering how far behind standards it will be in the said 3 ZOMG YEARS.
(The point raised about a certain recent installment of the Final Fantasy series being bad was a fair one, however. )
Pessimism requires no proof. If the game reviews well, my initial outlook may change, but there's nothing saying I can't lament the direction the game seems to be taking.

Indeed, I am rather fond of it. I consider sarcasm a very refined and artistic means of being a jackass. Plus, you can't really get mad at the sarcastic guy, because it tends to be oh-so-slightly humorous in the process. They've announced a WoW style Tiered Talent System.
Oh, you mean like most other MMO's? They've announced a WoW style GUI.
Oh, you mean like most other MMO's? The graphics.. well, I still play FF Tactics. I dont particularly care about those, but if it were important to me, I certainly wouldnt be impressed, especially considering how far behind standards it will be in the said 3 ZOMG YEARS.
It's a good thing you don't. Because... Y'know, Putting an MMO out with top line graphics is sure going to help you build a huge player base. Everyone knows that the best way to make an MMO is to keep the requirements high, so that anyone that wants to play it has to upgrade/replace their comp so that it meets that -one- game's minimum reqs. (The point raised about a certain recent installment of the Final Fantasy series being bad was a fair one, however. )
What can I say? I may be a sarcastic, comical and slightly self-absorbed arsewad... But when I'm right, I'm right Pessimism requires no proof. If the game reviews well, my initial outlook may change, but there's nothing saying I can't lament the direction the game seems to be taking.
I never said you needed proof, and I never said you couldn't baselessly complain. just that it was silly of you.

Yea, like most other MMO's.
That was sortve the attraction to Dark Mill... I was hoping it would be vastly different from what I've played and sworn off.
I guess I should specify I dont think it will be horrible because it's the same as all the other MMO's, it just pushes me away a little bit seeing another rehash of the same basic parts, except with guns and tanks instead of Bows and Armored Kodo's.

Because that's what sells. But you've also got to remember, this is an MMORPG. They've got to do it a certain way in order to make it work well for it's players. That's why MMORPGs that try to distance themselves as much as possible from the "WoW Formula" fail. Meanwhile games that're based off of it, and then build on the formula by including things that WoW doesn't, do alright for themselves. It all comes down to the fact that using the WoW approach when building a new MMO is what's going to sell it. Especially if you can give your players things that WoW couldn't/won't. @twistinthunder While it's true MMOs with top-notch graphic reqs tend to flunk, you could probably point that out without looking morose.

I am keeping my eye on it. The game could go either way at this point for me. By watching the videos they have shown IG, SM, Eldar, Orks, Cultist and CSM.
So it is possible the playable options will break down like this...
Imperium: IG or SM.
Imp. Ally: Eldar.
Chaos: Cultist or CSM.
Chaos Ally: Orks.
If they design the game right then there could be room to add more races/factions to the game at a future date.
Otherwise, as of right now they have my curiosity peaked with the announcement of no dedicated healer classes. All classes will have the ability to dish out lots of damage with no one being only for the purpose of healing.

Absollute = absolute?
You're right. The graphics were indeed "too" high.
/ Spellcheck.
Morose was putting it nicely. I didn't play All Points Bulletin because it looked bad in the first place, and it's admittedly bad by the development crew who said "Right now were looking at improving the things that don't work in the game, namely everything."
Onwards, I mentioned two (not "to" or "too") things of importance about the graphics.
1) I don't care about them. (Read a post as opposed to flaming it and you may learn something, unless basic reading comprehension escapes you. You seem to struggle with 2nd grade level punctuation and 5th grade level spelling.)
2) The graphics (although I don't care about them...) already look dated. The basic minimum graphics capability of a computer 3 years from now will be much higher than it is today, so keeping a game at today's low-mid level graphic range three years from now would be the equivalent of a gaming a company releasing Everquest's first release... next month.

I would think the requirements stay low, because of the current netbook trend.
If a non-gamer picks up a game, it better work on their PC or it goes back.
They are not the ones who will upgrade for a specific game.
If the developers are hoping to get commercial success, they have to target what the average user will have when the game comes out.
I do not think the average PC owner will have a PC with video capablilities much beyond where we are now.
