Great work Maxwin, the apothecary's blending is very nicely done, as is Tigurius' cape.

Great work on the Apothecary and Librarian, the wet blending is fantastic. Interesting that the wet blending is a time saver, though I think you take more care than me! I hope we get to see more of Mortarian WIP

Cheers for the comments!
Funny you should mention Mortarion, I've been working on some of his chains and base nurglings, NMM on these little guys is time consuming, but worth it

Great work on the marines, but am also really excited to see Morty get finished. Love the amount of time you spent on the little details, although Nurglings deserve it

Thanks for the comments, I am myself looking forward to seeing Mortarion completed

Mostly been doing the NMM bronze, I was going to leave the soles of his feet green but that just felt lazy

Mortarion looks awesome, and seems like a lot of work to do all the NMM on such a chunky model!

This model seems like a must to do in subassemblies

Thanks for sharing

He looks amazing, the texture on the armour is magnificent. All the little details are great and I love his purple coat!

IGtR= - Thanks! There is a lot of NMM but the idea was to get lots of practice I find I can do some NMM details as fast if not faster than using the standard metallic system, and subassemblies were definitely a must for me!!

Viterbi - Thanks man, I'm kind of pleased with the purple

Still in the R&D stage with the wings, this is in the most favoured pile at the moment ...

Finished his flying helpers, a lot more work in these guys than I thought!

and a bit of a SBS so far of the base, going to have some glowing slim under the marine and a bit of OSL lighting him from underneath ...

Thanks for looking!

NMM is looking good, so worth the time it takes to paint it!
Liking the base, especially with the little guys prancing around!

Keen to see how the OSL turns out, Morty is looking great!

Wow! Mortarion looks fantastic, but it’s the work on the base that really makes it for me, having him looking down about to execute (I assume?) the Marine is really cool. What flavour of loyalist will he be?

Cheers guys! as for the brand of marine I'm going with Ultramarines here is a very early wip with a couple of colours splashed on ...

I took a brief rest from Mortarion (very brief, not the previous 4 month rest) and powered through this handsome chap, Biologus Putrifier.
There were a lot of liquid filled glass bottles on this dude which I got a bit sloppy with by the end ...

Yeah that's definitely a model to practice your liquid-filled-glass effects on! Looks great though, I like the blue mixed in to keep it from getting monotone!

Cheers!

Continued on with the base and did a bit more on the doomed marine

Not sure what those rocks had for lunch but I think it disagreed with them ...

***Update***
Think I'm finished with this guy, pretty happy with the result.
Now on to the last phase ... the wings!
Need to get Morty finished so I can get cracking on this months challenge, Ghazghkull.

great OSL on the doomed marine, also works really great to give scale to the mini! I honestly thought Morty was much smaller until I saw him posed on the base there!

Oh my god, that is the most amazing thing. The dedication to the base is great, doomed marine looks glorious and love the shot of Morty towering over him. This will be such a great centerpiece. And love the bottle and syringe work on the Biologus

Thanks a lot for the positive comments, makes all the hours of work worth it

Think I'm done with Mortarion for now.

Some close up bits ...

And a cautionary tail of leaving models for long period between painting, my early bronze NMM on the right vs my new NMM on the left ...

Ghazghkull WIP update ...
Spent a bit more time than usual on the base, built it up with cork and modelling putty, then use my new tub of AK interactive dry earth (which I'm growing to love) then used a mix of browns and greys to colour in.

For his 'hand gun' I wanted to go for a just been fired look ... fired a lot!

I was inspired by this one on CMON http://www.coolminiornot.com/453525?browseid=11467292
and decided that the Ghaz I know would love some chrome shiny bitz, biker gang style, so naturally all I needed to do was learn how to do SENMM ...

Great start Maxwin, the glow of the barrels seems pretty realistic. I had to take a second look to see that the chrome was nmm

Amazing! The chrome particular is just wow!
Its way above what I can produce.. But I gotta ask, how come you don't bother tidying up the base rims after doing all this amaizng work?

Thanks for the comments! as for the base I always finish them off just sometimes not before I took the last pics, I sell everything I paint to pay for more paint and more things to paint so usually wait to see what colour the buyer wants. But as Ghaz is my entry to this months challenge I will be painting the rim real nice

Well 'glorious' might not be a really orky superlative, but that's what comes to mind, nevertheless Great job, I predict a lot of votes in the challenge!

Gosh, that is an awesome rendition of Ghazzy!!

And mortarion was a triumph of the subassembly process. The OSL on the marine on the base looks great also
