Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

The photograph of Haklfem is terrible, I didn't realise he had a second head or a fourth arm until I read it in the description.

The verminlord on the other hand looks like an utter beast.

In other news, the Elysians and Kriegers are back in stock on thier webstore.

Amusingly, I was in my local GW on Saturday for a couple of paints, and the manager mentioned that the company seems to take really poor pictures of models (this was after we looked at the new Goblin secret weapon guys on the computer there).

He did mention something about them having hired a new model photographer recently, so we'll see if things change.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

No, because the smallest unit counter in the game is a regiment or Chapter.

Given that L J Goulding writes novels, it looks like they're working out the details of the novel to cover the Siege of Terra ...

I had posted that pic here yesterday as part of the Battle for Terra-retconning-/40k Sanguinius-/future BA campaign-discussion in the 8th edition thread. If it had been quoted with context, it would have helped This was discussed by Mr. Goulding on B&C and other forums about half a year ago and he posted the photo on twitter. It was the final meeting for the HH book and game setting, and to coordinate BL and FW products as I understand it.

Already pointed out by TimD, there was an earlier Wargames Series by Jervis Johnson which consisted of four boxed games (and a White Dwarf expansion called Warmaster) in 92/93 and laid the foundation for several major storylines in the setting, many only mentioned briefly before

- Horus Heresy (plus Warmaster article in WD)
- Battle for Armageddon (plus boxed expansion)
- Doom of the Eldar

The photo shows the FFG HH remake from a few years ago and other original source material like WD articles. Back in the early 90s Bill King supported the series and fleshed out the storylines with his (imo really good) fiction material. It didnt change much later afaik. But if you read it today, it is quite basic. Later followed the CCG game and the source books by Alan Merrett.

Taking Atias hint into consideration, FW and BL seem to take this serious and are working on more interesting material for the finale of the HH. I dont see how this is different to books like Master of Mankind for example. I trust them to make it an interesting endavour both in fiction and gaming material.

I hope LJ Goulding doesn't have anything to do with that. His latest effort for the Scythes of the Emperor, Daedalus is terrible.

I doubt it has anything to do with a new photographer. They are often photographing pre-production models (can still see the striations from 3D printing) and not putting the effort in to capture good angles and editing. No company is silly enough to have the photographer alone making the final decision about what actually gets printed, it's more a quality control issue further down the line.

I am pretty sure he was referring to leaks of the full models, not the Rumour Engine image. It is a general comment about GW not choosing the best angles for photographing it's models.

Yup, gotta clear space for the inevitable primus marine kits. I miss the more unique kits FW used to release. And I miss the carcharadons transfer sheet. Is the hobbit stuff they are releasing actually selling? I was under the impression the hobbit game was on its deathbed and would vanish when the license expires...not to mention the hobbit movies were kind of cringeworthy.
