Thanks a lot

Yeah, I´ll get his fluff up soonish, and you´ll see why I´ve gone with the void suit theme here.
His feet and legs haven´t been changed a lot, I´ve bulked up his shoes to make them more "space"ish, and given him knee guards, that´s pretty much it.
Will try to get some good pictures today.

The Inquisitor looks good so far. Nice to see you continue the Void suit theme with him. The flamer looks a bit heavy for an one handed weapon, so I like how you emphasis it's heavieness by letting the =I= to rest it on his shoulder plate!

Looking forward on finished figure.

The battle report was nice also, altough the amount of unfinished figures almost blinded me!

How is that big marine repped in the actual rules? I hope he got better stats than just a gang leader...

I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person.
That's what it says: A horrible person...
We weren't even testing for that.

Hey Hammer, good to see you again. Yes, the void suit made me happy, so I decided to roll with it.

Was thinking that the flamer was a bit big to have him pointing it, so that was the best option I figured.

I´ll be spraypainting him this evening, and starting paint.

Thanks, took me ages to get the pictures right, and oh god oh god oh god, the unpainted horror... :S

The Marine is repped as a complete and utter maniac rules-wise. He takes up almost half of the gangs points allowance on his own, is S5, and more than thrice as dangerous as any other character in the campaign I´d reckon.

In the first battle, he inflicted 8 wounds on a hapless PDF sentry, in a single round of combat!

do you have his compleate stats? I am looking for good (but not to overpowerd) rules to use for my CSM leader. using up about half the gangs cost sounds right though.

He started out as the gang leader. He was given a Power Armour that gives him a 3+ save, a photovisor and respirator, and +1S.

He also has plusses to his strength, wounds and LD stats.

That´s all I can reveal right now. However, a bit more explaining is required in order to emphsise the power of the guy, I think.

Starting groups in the campaign have five choices from the rare trade charts in the Necromunda books. He takes up 2 of these.
They also have five upgrades from the experience lists. He takes up three of these.

So all in all, he uses half of his gangs "special" stuff.. Makes him a brute in a fight, and very scary for everyone else involved in the campaign, while not "broken", we feel.

Go for it man!

Oh, one more thing, for our campaign, we´ve gone with pricing Power Armour at 200pts, with the respirator and photo visor things on it.

Some more pictures of progress here, loot counters for the coming scenarios, some more of these to make still. Also, the pilot, remade and improved. He has a holster on his belt, empty, cause the pistol is his hand! Obvious, innit?

And some shots of the Inquisitor, all done modeling now, time to get some paint on this bad boy. I had hope I´d get time for it yesterday and this morning, but christmas cornered me and stole my time..

Merry Christmas to one and all.

Thanks CommisarKhaine, I´ve tried my very best to get a good look, and as it is now I feel that he´s ready for paint.

We´re starting round two of scenarios tonight, the warbands are now searching for clues on planet Sarum, trying to find a lead that will give them an edge in the hunt for the disease!

Hey, thanks guys, it´s good to hear that people like what I´ve done with him. I´m painting him still, and don´t want to post PIP pictures until he´s done, but that is likely to be some time tomorrow.

We had some cool games last night, mine was a draw, but my group did manage to secure a vital clue in the campaign. More on that tomorrow as well.

Working tonight.... <sigh>

Hey Northen, thanks a lot. Not getting as much posted just now as i´d hoped, time has begun to shorten here, and I want to get as many games in as possible.

A further three games have been played, battle reps will get here as soon as is possible.
Also, I´ve painted the Inquisitor, almost done with him, mostly basing and last details to be done.

Hopefully piccies of some of the stuff by tomorrow at some point.

If I'm not mistaken that the Space Wolf plastic head! If that is so this means that Xanthos is probably the first person I've witnessed using a Space Wolf head on a non-marine model that actually looks convincingly good! Most of the time the Space Wolf head looks too big compared to the rest of the model.

I thank you for the many kind words guys, I´m closing on the "finished" point with my =I=, and he looks even better (I think) with paint.

Migsula, Malika2, the head is actually from a resin set bought from my FLGS, I believe it was called "barbarian head sprue"..

Several excellent heads, well moulded, and they cost less than 4 euro´s so I´m happy with that.

I looked at the SW head originally, but it was way too big for this type of model.

Update time! With Pics!

As I´ve mentioned, I started painting the =I=. I´ve gone with some of the colors I´ve used for the other members of the group, but I´ve added more bronze and gold, as well as going for a deeper, richer green for his cloak. These are still PIP, but closing on the finish line now.

Also, in a spur of the moment thing, I decided that his one in a million bolt pistol will be carried by a servo skull, mounted beside him on the base. So I´ve started working on that, and so far I like it.

So please please please, let me know what you all think, is he too dark, too light, too tall, too white? C&C welcomed!

I think his sword should be plain ol' silver. it would go better with the classic, old style look you have going there.

I would make him maybe a little darker, or add weathering since you arn't going for the usual shiny christmas tree inquisitor look

Might be good with silver, yes.... I probably wouldn´t have thought about it, since it seems too flashy for him, but I could always dull it down, and do washes and progressive highlights on it. Might be cool.

And thanks for noticing, I´ve tried to move away from the "target marker" colours of many Inquisitors.

It may be the lighting, but the cloak looks like it could use some highlights. If you want a reptilian looking skin, a DA green base coat and a prgressive highlight to rotting flesh looks nice, especially when washed with thraka green or asurmen blue. Or both . Sam goes for the sword: a few more highlights look like they would help out a lot.

Very nice model, I'm looking forward toth e servoskull!

ya know, I like the black blade. looks like he just dosent have it turned on. lots of military knives have a black finish to reduce reflection, i could see that being carried into the 4ok universe. I would paint the wire/power thingie on the blade though, it makes it just look unpainted with it all solid black.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments, interesting to see what you think about this.

@CommissarKhaine: Yes, the cloak is not done at all yet. I´m actually working from orkhide shade and up. And yes, washes are the king.
The sword may get a colour switch, but I may also just finish highlighting it, in the style it is now.

@Rahveel: That was actually the effect I was going for. A bit like the DA blades, but different enough to be its own thing.
The wires and such will get paint, no worries. I just need to finish the blade itself first.

Hey everyone, quick new years update here.

The campaign has been finished (for now), and the results were very close, but more on that when the remaining battle reps are posted.
Sadly none of this will be sooner than january 3rd, since I´ll be travelling home after new years, and will be without both models and computer for that... <sigh>

Happy new years to all!

I would definitely suggest a color swap on the sword. Use a color already in the palette for it. Either a new shade of green or go with a nice muted red/black.

I think highlights are the biggest part I feel is missing right now. If you are highlighting and washing after, be sure to re-highlight when the wash dries to bring the high points back up from the wash. This applies to just about anything, from flesh tones to metallics.

Nice progress, The sword needs some more work, it's such a focal pt, I too would use metallics, but maybe go black with mithril edges and a silver handle. I think the flamer would really benefit from mithril HLs too. I think overall the metals need more contrast, darker areas and shiny edges. Be very experimental, tap on some inks, then re HL, try glazing etc. I always try to make every metal effect a little different. It means not all of them work out ideally, but you learn so much and add interest.

Awesome stuff! Love the batrep.

Question: Where can one find those Inqmunda pdf files? I would love to look at them, and maybe get a game going here near me.

Thanks.

Edit:
Or are you guys just using the Necromunda Rules with counts-as gangs? Just noticed the subtitles on your printed books... Heh.
