Oooh - the plastic IG command sets (both cadian and catachan) are emperor sent for more Legion troopers!
The metal advisors are also great conversion fodder for =I=Munda. Small conversions and they'll be brilliant NPCs.

Those are seriously some sweet sets of HQ squads, for IG.
I can see the =I=munda characters just being born from these sprues.

I need to get some Marauder Horsemen too, they have fabulous heads, too bad I heard they are big ones I'm told.
Anyway, I've started planning for a new member and that Valkyrie And I just can't get the thought of how cool a full Army would be out of my heads.

Mmm - the new IG things, a world of opportunities.
I'm personally looking with glee at the Ordnance Advisor (the dude with the Artillery), being an Artillery nut myself.
I also like the astropath -- perfect for any number of roles.

and where does the flagelant head size rank in "standard GW"? If they are the same size, I'm buying some Marauder Horsemen asap.
I didn't know they had standards on these, to me it feels every kit has a different size and proportions. The differences can be small, but still they exist.

Look at my WIP terminators pic. 2 of them have marauder heads and 2 are FW termies which compare to the flagellants quite well. The marauder heads are a bit bigger than flaggies. Most of us wouldn't even notice the difference, but you propably think them as too big. I think they are just perfect for the wolves, though.

Thank for the reference, I think they are tad too big for Legion, but can be shaved down so...

Gotta agree, the new marauder horsemen heads are noticeably bigger (to me anyway and probably you too Migs) than the type of human heads I like to use. They're probably similar in size to marine heads.
There is a lot of mileage to be had out of the various flagellant heads, then there is the rest of the empire plastics etc.
Not sure shaving down would do much to sort the "bigishness" of them.
Why not give sculpting new expressions on flagellant heads a go, it's a hell of a lot of fun and you have the skills. Go on, you know you want to!
What had you planned for the marauder heads?
Cheers,
Dante

A mercenary type character with lots of tattoos.
I see your point about shaving and agree. Maybe I should tweak some flagellant heads, which I love. I should be doing so many other hobby projects, but the Legion has totally captivated my imagination. Now I want a full army and a few more of Alpharius too! But it's just not realistic.

Like I said, I should be doing so many other hobby projects, but the Legion has totally captivated my imagination.
A full army, realistic or not? I'm entertaining the thought though.
I would love to do a full IG force from a planet totally in the Legion control and agenda: Basically a new guard army that can go anywhere, with A mix match guard, merc, spec op force guys thrown in as operatives, ride in Valkyries, with separate armored support units, and a small squad of Legion thrown in. Maybe even a few select Xeno operatives.
I would invent a new regiment, with a strong background story, and a nice tie in to Alpharius and his Alphariuses. There would be plenty of half hidden narrative links to their masters, and some squads of special operatives and individuals in the ranks.
I guess, I'll do a few proto models for the regiment, if there was plastic Great Coats that be it, so I may wait and do the secial guys and armour frst. Maybe. I'm itching to do the Valkyrie, so that will be the first of many vehicles and I want the Vulcan Megabolter baneblade variant.

I often dream of doing a similar thing but then realisation that in my entire lifetime in the hobby I have never owned a fully painted army, let alone a perfectly converted and painted army.
I wish you the best of luck on your endeavour mate, the new cadian command has a greatcoat in it, just buy a couple hundred of them?!

I use Nivea hand creme on my tools. Works like a charm. Not sticky anymore and bonus: The finished GS surface gets ultra-smooth.
Couldn`t recommend that more.

Thanks.
I use mostly 1/35 tank/vehicle kit parts. You can buy them dirt cheap if you don't care what vehicle it is. WW2 works just as well as modern armour. I use parts from those kits also to do some small detail, like custom headgear and comms on my =I=munda models to better convey scale. On these bases there are parts from Merkava III and a WW2 "vindicator", some GW parts and plasticard strip.
And when it comes to Legion, this can only mean one thing:

The shapers are fantastic! I sculpted all the flat areas of the marine just now, in one go thanks to not worrying about sticking or using a lubricant or ... And Dante will be proud, I sculpted a new facial expression on the head. It's the flagellant head with a rope in his mouth BTW.
