Awesome. If that dozer blade doesnt say "Get the hell out of my way or add to my paint job!" then I dont know what does. I think it looks great. Always shiny from a fresh coat of blood.

Thanks schank23 I might put that on the front of one of my tanks actually.

Anyway, I have been writing more of my Ork novel and whilst reading it back I found an extract I am rather proud of, please tell me what you think.

More lasgun fire streaked over the kommandos heads, Snikgrim knew they would not be able to hide for long. Snikgrim looked to the left and saw one of his kommandos trying to peek the top of cover, “get down ya ruddy git, ya gonna get yer ead blown of, come ta fink of it keep lookin” called Snikgrim in a sarcastic tone as he let out a laugh. The kommando unfortunately did not understand sarcasm and stuck his head over the barrier anyway, seconds later the Orks head flew across the room, closely followed by the rest of his body. Snikgrim sighed as the headless body ran around flapping its arms about like a grot with a squig down his pants. As the headless ork ran past Snikgrim, the nob had an idea “might aswell make da most o dis” he said to himself as he pulled the pin from a stickbomb and casually shoved the crude grenade down the decapitated kommandos black trousers. The body continued to flap its arms about as it fell over the Orks cover, the humans ignored it, believing it would collapse before it reached them. The dying kommando ran towards the disciplined ranks of Imperial guard, drawing the attention of the soldiers who began to shoot it immediately. The Ork finally collapsed, unfortunately for the guardsmen, nobod1y spotted the Orky grenade hidden within it’s pants. Snikgrim waited for the distinctive BOOM that only a stickbomb could create, he laughed as Ork and Human limbs flew overhead.

Since it has been a while since I uploaded a FINISHED model I decided to put up pictures of the 6 shoota boys and the 1 nob I finished just today. I got the idea for the nobs count-as powerklaw from bioshock (no way) . I also had my first attempt at blending for the brown jacket on one of the boys (it is hard to see on the pics) and i think it came at quite well. Oh and I have been thinking alot about what to add to this army, any suggestions would be welcome. Anyway here are the pictures

OH and I just remebered that I had a second go at source lighting on one of the shoota boys in the picture below

Coming along nicely there moonshine. A big drill is always important The OSL looks alright to me, and like the guy with the shades and extra grip on the gun.

Thanks Monkeytroll, I figured that the zany ork with glasses and an extra grip would appeal to someone doing crazy stuff like you. And yeah, a big drill is allways imortant, esspecialy if it is going to smash through power armour.

Hello again, Work has been slow lately and not much stuff has happend. On friday I got Everything primed

I have been working on the shoota boy mob and bought a box of lootas a few days ago, I got them assembled but was dissapointed that there are only 4 deffguns in the box so I converted a 5th from th meks kmb and a few other things. Why does gw not just put 5 deffguns in there ?

anyway, here are the pics :

It is hard to see due to the fact it is basecoated but it looks kind of like an ork sniper rifle

Yes, the ork on the right does have a burst cannon !

A Kan taking out a Land Raider? Yeah, he's definitely earned a trophy.

Whilst painting things today I was thinking of what trophy to give the kan for popping a land raider and asortath the grim, does anyone have any suggestions ? I also decided to try another background for my photos, you can be the judge of if it worked or not . Nothing much else has happened but I decided to update this blog with pictures.

I have finished 8 shoota boys I am half way through doing the skin on 15 others.

Maybe some Land Raider tread links? If those are iconic enough. If not, perhaps the Assault Ramp bit, glued on as extra armour or something. As for Astorath, perhaps a black feathered wing?

Been a while since I worked on the mek or anything for that matter. I have not had much time to work on stuff since pissing away around 100quid on computer on monday . Anyway at least it will help me stick to "no buying anything until what I have is painted" and I have a good few months of painting without needing to buy anything. But anyway, I got all the lootas built, primed and drybrushed. Also I got the meks old burna replaced by somthing muvh more burny (if that is a real word)

Oh and I was in the mood to paint somthing different so count the sevens

In case you didn't get the reference I was talking about the death guard (plauge marines if you are that out of touch with the fluff)

Well, it might be a while until I next get around to actually painting or building somthing. I'm going through alot right now and there is a ton of family problems to sort out aswell as one really big issue. It will probably be about a month before I actually do anything, at best, it will be two weeks before anything gets done. Apart from that all that I have done is add a little bit of paint to the mek and done the skin. Anyway Thank you everyone for taking an interest in this project, I will be back to schedule as soon as possible.

Family before toy soldiers Hope you get things sorted as easily as possible.

Take care, we'll still be hanging around looking for reasons to avoid painting when you get back...

Hi everyone. I have not gotten anything done yet. BUT. I have found a new way to paint ork skin, it really brings out muscle defenition and looks much better, I have also discovered that I actually have the patience to use blending. This however mean that I need to re-do almost all of my orks AAAAARGH. Does anybody know a way I can speed it up, I really want to get on with building some stuff soon but it will just mean more stuff to paint. Any advice is welcome, thanks.

I finally got around to actually doing somthing, I got my first re-paint done on the nob in the slugga/choppa squad. I used blending and a new way to paint skin and I think it came out alright. He took around 5 hours to do. Only around 100 models left

Fiannaly I got all the issues out of the way and was able to sit down and redo all of my orks skin but that's not excting ebough to post up so I started working on my warbikes and killa kans. I'm really pleased with the idea of using a burst cannon on the front of the warbike, it really makes it look different.

The killa kans are barely done but I got the metalics done (almost) and the camo pattern on them. Oh and byu the way, that is a grot in the end of that grotzooka

I love the burst cannon on the warbike, great conversion.

The camo pattern on the killa kans looks great.

So it is 2 am and I finally got the first big 30 man mob of shoota boys finished. I remember building these guys during the final days of december whilst watching Starship Troopers 1 (the good one). I added the static grass to them litaerally 20 minutes ago and took a picture before I went to bed, it is hard to get a decent photo of 30 models on camera so I had to take 3 pictures and 1 from above to show how many there are.

I have to admit, the joy of getting this mob of my desk and into the display cabinet is great. Now all I have to paint is :

10 slugga boys

30 grots

1 trukk

2 battlewagons

5 lootas

2 warbikers

1 Killa kan

7 plauge marines

1 daemon prince

9 wych

20 hormaguants

and a 1 Hive tyrant

But anyway, here are the pictures of the brand new shoota boy mob.

and finnaly, here is what they look like from above

Yeah picture quality does suck but getting 30 orks on camera is not easy.
