Seems I've missed a few updates lately

Some cool little conversions scattered around, and the improvements in your painting are nicely visible Some nice poses on the kans.

I agree with Arakasi on the battlewagons teeth, far too clean at the moment. Dirty them up a bit, get a bit of metal showing and that rust will fit in nicely.

Arakasi: i agree the teeth are too clean i thought that aswell. the writing says wagh, i should have used 3 A's but ill leave it now.

Monkeytroll: cheers and tanks for the advice on getting some metal showing.

I took the advice and got some metal showing on the teeth and here are the results

so what do you think?

i also did a bit of work on the side of it.

I bought a warboss a few days ago and last night i finished the green stuff work on him and then i sprayed him this morning so sorry for how hard it is to see him. i don't have a name for him yet so can somebody think of one for him.

here he is on the pk side

and this is the back. he is wearing a cape but it's not very clear in the pic

and his kombi skorcha side

and an overhead pic that shows the green stuff shoulder pad thing

Battlewagon teeth are looking much better - well done. Boss looks good - but you are right - it's hard to make out the detail on the undercoated version. Looking forward to the paint bringing out all of your work.

thanks arakasi ,i was suprised at how wasy it was to get the metalic effect and how good it looked at the end. i can't wait to see it painted either i've done a bit of work on him but nothing worth uploading.

cheers ink. on yours you couldput a grot like mine or a grot from the stompa on it.

anyway i just noticed a black blob on the teeth and does anyone else think it would be worth painting in gloss varnish to make it look like oil?

Hi everyone i got some more work on the warbioss done but he's not nearly done and i'm realy thinking about removing the shoulder things

I've settled with the name Snikgrim Dakkarut

I'm pleased with the teeth desighn on the iron gob

his cape is clearer now it's painted and i'm really happy with the flame desighn and the head but i might re-do the hair

The kombi skorcha needs some other colour on the casing but apart from that it's done. I don't want to put any rust on the boss to represent the fact he has grots and meks to keep his stuff clean i might do the same with the nobz.

And here he is from the top. He has a medal but i'm not sure if it looks right what do you guys think ?

Quick update-

I'm working on the warboss but barely anything's done, and i've been trying to assemble some ork boyz.

But more importantly i had an idea for a biker boss conversion.

But he's not really a biker boss more of a mono-wheel boss conversion using the skaven doomwheel. the plan is to put the biker boss in the middle and use a space marine bike or somthing as the seat and stuff.
The only thing i'm want to know is will the boss fit inside?
Also i might put the thing the boss sits on outside of the monowheel, a bit like cout grevious in star wars

What do you guys think of the idea?

Sounds like a fun idea for the biker boss. I like how the warboss is coming out. That kombi skorcha looks pretty heavy, tho.

All moving along nicely here I see. The battlewagon looking much better for the wear and tear

Love the sound of the mono-wheel biker, doom wheel should easily hold an ork, have a few similar ideas, but keep veering away from the doom-wheel for some unknown reason (well, probably a sub-concious attempt to avoid spending). I was thinking of some sort of cruciform strapping holding the ork in the middle, roughly based on a character from the old Twisted Metal games on the PS1. Be interesting to see where you go with that idea.

monkeytroll: thanks for the advice on making metal show on the battlewagon. you're idea sounds cool too, and i came up the ide whilst watching star wars 3 and seeing grevious monowheel, the warboss could have his seet on one side and have a dakkagun on the other. i might do a concept of it tonight if i feel like it.

Matt.kingsly: cheers

on the weekend i got a box of black orcs from whfb and i've converted 2 into ard boys using parts from the ork boys set. they are slightly bigger than regular boys but smaller than nobs which is great because they stand out but are not the size of nobs

here is the first guy who has the mace from the black ork kit

and here is the second guy who has the arm the nob has in the ork boy kit. since taking this picture i added anothe shoulder pad to the choppa arm

I've been working on some fluff for a month now and hopefully when it's all finished i might submit it to black libary. I've submited the first few paragraphs here. What does everybody think?, should i re-write some of it?

Dargot was a dead world. From the endless wastelands of the north to the blazing deserts of the west, scars of battle could be seen. Across the landscape battle lines were drawn and colossal cities had been constructed. Both armies had settled down for a lengthy stay and neither would surrender or back down. The only place that had not been turned into a savage battlefield was the large, black, imposing pyramids in the south west. The planet itself was about thirty two times larger than terra and had five uninhabited moons which were barely noticeable compared to the giant planet. The earth was light brown and the sand was the colour of bone, in the air vast brown clouds drifted across a polluted, yellow sky that blocked out the sun. Hills overlooked the flat land whilst sand dunes formed and were destroyed on a daily bases. On occasions one of the many volcanoes would erupt. Sometimes electric storms would rage overhead and acid rain would pour down and force both races to run into their shelters. Day and night both lasted for 54 hours. Fields that once grew crops now contained rotting plant carcases of the farmers who had once tended to them.

In the east a vast city devoted to the emperor churned out imperial war machines which were sent directly from the city thought the rubble and then deployed to the front line whilst fresh guardsmen were dispatched and obliterated daily. The centre of the city housed regiments of imperial guard and two chapters of space marines whose home worlds were in the same system as Dargot. The impirium was having many victories but the orks remained strong and fought back with great ferocity. Since the start of the war both races sometimes saw the silhouettes of sleek, fast, humanoid figures in the frozen wastelands of the north, thought these were usually ignored because something much more important would happen within hours or even minutes of these sightings. After years of fighting it seemed an uneasy stalemate had been reached as no side could gain a foothold of any new ground and even if they could it would usually be destroyed before a terran week was over.

The west however, the west was different because it was alive and it was alive because it belonged to the orks. A colossal, crude and noisy city took up one tenth of Dargot and that was the only tenth that was truly alive. In the most southern part of the city great mines worked twenty four seven to provide metals too sell to the meks for handful’s of teeth at a time, the meks then worked with the metals and scrap until they had a weapon of some sort, which they would then barter off and trade in a huge market alongside other meks. The customers liked to think they had a good idea of what they were talking about when they asked a mek to build them something so phrases like “I wan it ta be extra killy” and “make sure ya give it more dakka dan wat da ruddy git dere got up da road” and so on. It wasn’t only weapons that the orks traded, fungus beer, squig meet, paint, crude trukks and even grots could be easily bought and competition between stalls was extremely fierce meaning if an ork had a good eye for a bargain he could easily get a great deal on most things and often an ork could be seen pulling a barrel of fungus beer along that he bought for a mere five teeth or a wartrukk on sale for fifty teeth. Each clan would buy different things for different prices and it was common to see a bad moon stall selling top quality squig pie for buckets of teeth whilst the goff stall next to it was selling squig pie with the motto “eat it before it eats you” for a tooth each. Just up the road from the market were mekshops and scrap yards that each sold and built different items. Some mek shops would churn out killa kanz and deff dreads and others would build deffguns for any ork who could afford it and get the parts. Mek shops wouldn’t just build things but repair them aswell and meks would constantly try and convince the customer of his skills by saying things like “good job I fixed dis, ya would’a got a crap job dun if I didn’t do it”.

Near the market and mek shops were the homesteads the orks constructed, they used their houses like humans would and a normal house would be in an apartment like stack of five or six and could have about five orks living in it at one time. The orks cared little for comfort and slept on the floor. Houses would have one or two rooms and contained a place to sit, a place to keep guns and choppas and a table which could be used for gambling or watching grots fight to the death whilst the orks made bets and got drunk. Even though orks would get tired and return home for sleep another ork would have just woken up and because of this the city never slept and was always alive.

Overlooking the millions of ork houses was a large hill that had more houses on it but these houses were special because they were the nobz houses and were much better than the homes of the boys. The first difference between the dwellings of the nobs and boys was the fact the nobs houses were not stacked and were two stories high, inside there were normally two or three rooms per floor. A nob would have extra rooms such as a room for his grots who would be expected to make him breakfast, polish his war gear, take messages to orks on the nobs behalf and all the other jobs the nob was to lazy to do (most jobs really). Unlike other orks nobs had a bed to sleep in, the bed would have a blanket made from rubbish the nob could find and that included fabric from dead guardsmen and other orks, grots stitched the sheets together and were then expected to clean the sheets after the nob awoke. A nob had a toilet in his house that was kept clean by gretchin and the ork could have a garage for his trukk or battlewagon, the crew of a nobs vehicle often lived inside whatever they were driving so the nob could get a ride whenever it suited him. The higher up the hill the more powerful the ork was and therefore the bigger the house. Near the peak the orks lucky enough to wear mega armour lived in large houses, usually with their own large barrel of beer and a squig fighting arena. Even closer to the top was all the warbosses who had the largest homes teeth could buy and had enough room to store a squadron of battlewagons, which they often did. Finally at the peak lived the warlord and his personal bodyguard of nobz. The warlord had a fortress instead of a home and the great gates that that led into a long hall could just be seen from the market. The inside of the warlord’s fortress was decorated with skulls and banners that were polished daily by the warlord’s slaves. The room that was attached to the entrance hall was the largest and looked like a human court room, the warlord sat on large chair decorated with more skulls and banners from other races. The warlords throne was in the centre of a semi-circle of smaller chairs where the warbosses favoured nobz sat and watched the centre of the room, in front of them their was another semicircle of chairs that were lower down, and in front of that row was another semicircle that was lower down and so forth for ten rows. In the centre of all the semicircles were stairs that led directly to the warbosses throne

Hello everyone.

I've got a bit done today, I got round to sparying the first killa kan, finally and as the title says i made two more ard boyz.

Does anybody have any advice on which klan i should paint the ard boyz as, it's now betwean Goffs, Deffskulz and Blood axe's, they will all end up with some red on them but I did'nt want them to be mostly red.

The poses they're in are quite creative (for me at least)

The sheild ork with the sheild is based on the sm comand squad and the guy with the choppa with shoota attached was my idea.

Nice. Well, I don't think Red and blue will go together nicely, so you'd better scratch deathskulls. If you really want to include red in it, go for Blood Axes, but fluff wise, I'd think Bad Moons are the ones most likely to wear 'ard armor. With all their bling and all.

Yeah i thought that aswell, looks like it will be blood axe's then.
In the fluff bad moonz are definatly most likley to wear ard armour but i figured they would also have some fancy upguned shoota aswell and i really don't know how i'd pose them with shootas.
Oh and btw one of the orks will be carrying the banner. who knows what to put on it cus i sure don't, he he

' 'eads fer mi pointy stik! '

Also, perhaps a cool banner design....Wait...that was what you asked for. leme think.

So, you're planning on continuing with a Blood Axe feel? Well, Catachan Green Kanz will look very blood axe(ish), so go for it. All I can say of you are going with this is: crude camouflage.

for the banner. because you seem to be laening towards blood axes, I suggest a pair of crossed axes, maybe?

Yeah that sounds like a good banner desighn, i'll use that and put 'ard boyz' underneath it, or a similar slogan.

I just realised i'm leaning towards blood axes, i'll need to paint some other stuff in other klan coulors to counter that, or should i just go blood ax, after all if i want to paint another can paint some orks in the colors pf other klans.
Imo the warboss has a nice blood axe theme to him.
