Holy crabs, these are the SEX! The mirror ones look the best, but the overall idea and all the designs are nothing less than inspired. Awesome!

We did venture into 5 man or command squad bases, which looked cool!

If you wanted to use them in battle to better move the units around the board, it becomes tricky as they could be to big to filed large units, especially as you want to keep them spaced out to compensate for blast template weapons and the like.

Is that what you were thinking of? What would you like to see?

You have some very neat ideas going on here WarMill. Don't know if they're just demos but the reflective bases would seem to me to be a really attractive option for a display base as they can reveal detail otherwise lost or at minimum give a spectacular reflection of the mini above.

Those red scorpian bases are kick ass.

In response to Asylum's request I did indeed have a go at colouring the edges of the bases which you can find below. The results were better than expected really, and speak for themselves!

Gitsplitter, that is a great idea! a lot of love for the mirrored bases, will get some samples done of a display base...you guys got any recommendations for what race / army we could do one for?!

I also managed to get some additional images taken of the Terminecton character stand, in better lighting I think you really get to see the effects of the fluorescent acrylic!

I've also been privy to some of Harry's latest work which I assume he#ll add to the total conversion thread we have so that will be worth checking out later!

I'd suggest doing the outside edge of the base with a heroic saying of some sort or the same in latin (like the disc shown above), but leaving the bulk of the base clear of design so that the "mirror" part is not interfered with by the decorations on the base.

That sounds incredibly sensible and i'm sure will look the nuts!

Just when I get an idea of what kind of bases I want you guys come out with something even more awesome

Started out as etched acrylic
Then there were the plinths to stand them on
Then came the acrylic hero bases
Then the coloured edges
Then the mirrored bases

what comes next? can't wait to find out what comes out of the Warmill Bat-Cave, I like think that every night there is a little conversation that happens there

Can you do it custom? Like with the symbol of my own chapter? Or can you do some tests with "flyers" bases, specially small ones, intended for Assault Marines and other Jump Infantry?

We do custom designs, a couple of the posts on here are commissions from other dakka guys. The Rhino hatch, Shadow bases, Aurora Chapter display base and the Red Scorpions are all with their respective owners now

PM us about what bases you're after (25mm, multi-part display stand, etc) and we'll sort out a quote. As a rough guide there's some price lists up in our gallery for this thread.

When we stop making cool stuff and do some boring but essential stuff instead. We're getting together to paint up some samples and take some glamour shots this weekend, so that'll be one big step done.

I'm trying to figure out what I can order from you for my self...

Not as large of a target audience, but there are a couple of skirmish games I play that make extensive use of 25 or 30mm tokens. Creating a simple design selling casts or molds would probably do well.

For Malifaux (Wyrd),
30mm corpse counters, 30mm scrap counters (the two big ones) possibly blight and blood counters too.
50mm blast marker, 40mm Wagon marker, 30mm dynamite marker...

For Infinity (Corvus Belli)
25mm tokens, there is a whole list incl. mines, repeaters, Camo, TO Camo, Impersonation 1 & 2
There are more (prone, immobilised, possessed...) but the first list are ones that you actually need a 25mm base, normal thickness for the games.

Anyways, just ideas and I know that you guys are already getting ideas thrown at you left and right from the 40k crowd.

these could be modified to accept an LED edge lighting kit they just about tall enough to place a hidden compartment for a coin battery and switch with a groove hidden just under the lip for a LED light

Thanks for the suggestions, we have thought about Infinity after a conversation with our FLGS proprietor. We just need to find some time to go and see the game being played! I have downloaded the stuff off the website to look at so expect something in the future, once we're a bit more established

That could be pretty sweet. We've had an enquiry from someone who wants to light their bases, so depending on how that pans out we may have something to show. It's one of those things where we have lots of ideas, we just have to choose which ones to pursue and it's usually the ones people show interest in, so shout about it if you want us to make something

The finishing pass on the valkyrie kit is coming along nicely so hopefully we'll have some bits to post on our other thread later in the weekend. I'm going up my shed to cast up some of our Ork bases now

Managed to get some more work done on the Ork trophy stand thingamajig - see images below.

I think I'm going to get it prototyped looking like this, and batter up the edges myself, as making it in the software is a pain up the a**.

Also, I left a slot at the front so we can add custom name plates for your warboss or if used as a trophy, the category / event name.
