I agree. The Chronos was supposed to be a crawly insectoid robot, and smaller than the Talos... I guess they decided that's the direction they'll be taking Necrons though, and didn't want a unit looking too similar?

I just reread the entry for the Cronos and it doesn't actually say it crawls. It says it "resembles a giant biomechanical insect or spined parasite".

I think the problem is the little sketch they have, which sorta looks like a small version of the model, if it was stretched out and had bladed limbs instead of tentacles, but is probably just some doodle to fill up room on the page.

I actually hate hat little drawing. I like the idea that Talos and Cronos look similar.

I have to say I'm much more partial to the bat wings on scourges... And I am VERY impressed that GW considered that preference and provided accommodation! I was afraid I'd be forced to put up with feathered wings on my nice models. The feathered wings aren't bad, mind you... But bat wings seem so much more fitting for evil beings who live in the dark, imo.

The scourges were really made for you to buy 2 boxes so you have enough heavy weapons and so you can have one with bat wings and one with feather wings.

I use three voids (my proxies are fugly ) in my haemonculus list. I like them I grant they are fragile and a bit spendy, but they've more than made up for that in 'eep' factor against some of my local opponents

Ravagers are 'best' i grant you, but they don't really attact me as much as supersonic jetfighters and fighterbombers

*shrug* Each to their own. I save my competitive lists for tournaments anyway, and run what i please in friendly games

The new models look awesome. I'm going to have to sell the other kidney :(

With all the extra bits the talos has you can convert your own hemmy and the razorwing may be released as two vehicles like the talos. The whole DE line is very cheap cause if you buy it on the warstore $36 is the most expecive priced DE model. I will be buying four boxes of scourges at $19 a box.

It might be too son to say as we still haven't seen the Scourges sprues, but the box art show 3 feathered wings and 2 bat wings. If the box includes 5 wing sets for 5 bodies... that'll make the dealing harder. The sprue should have 3 of each to be fair.

I am overall really happy with this release.

The Talos and Chronos both take the cake for coolest looking in my book. I'm a little disappointed that they were not packaged together but I probably wouldn't use the Chronos much anyway so it's something I can just avoid buying for now.

The Venom is meh, but I'm so happy that there is a venom model now that I'm preordering six of them.

Absolutely love the Scourges and must get at least four boxes, maybe more.

I have no need for the battleforce as I've already purchased more of everything in there than I will evr need but I wanted to comment on it. As far as Battleforces go, I think that the DE one has a really good mix of models that are actually usable than many others.

I think that so far GW has really knocked the entire DE line out of the ballpark. Both in sculpt and in timeliness of releases. DE really deserved it though, considering how long they sat in limbo.

$25 for 5 models is "somewhat reasonably priced"? I suppose compared to some of the latest releases for other armies, but that still seems pretty steep.

Are you ok? with math and etc? Because 15,50GBP is cheaper then even basic Assault marines, and at least 25% cheaper then all latest 5 man boxes for any SMurfs..

People, people, people. I'm not being nasty, I'm just putting this in bold in hopes that people see it.

Fret not, the Talos and Cronos are one set. Why they show them as two separate pages is beyond me, but they are indeed one combined set.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Exactly: the Dark Eldar plastics seem to immune to the pricing of the rest of GW's lines; Grey Knight "jump infantry" are $33 for 5. The Scourges are the same price as Eldar Swooping Hawks, and the quality seems... higher, shall we say.

Space Marines are a bit bigger than DE though, guess there is more plastic involved or something

maybe its that hellions are so cheap, 16 points a pop and not really any upgrades. You are supposed to run a squad of 20 and if they were $33 for 5 no one would consider them unless they came int he battle force. Like reaver jetbikes....

I think you're pretty much on the money in your last sentence. I don't work for GW, nor do I actually know how they run their business, but it seems that their products are based partially on their in-game cost (roughly speaking). You could say with great certainty that most people will field less Terminators than regular marines. The production costs (designwork, molds, material, shipping, boxing, art etc) are probably in the same region, yet Terminators are almost 2,5 times more expensive than a regular marine. It's probably about wanting a similar return on investment on their various products, or in other words: "You'll be fielding more of the cheap ones than the expensive ones".

I'm very tempted to buy a kit or two just because they look so cool. Maybe I'll get my paws on a box of Hellions in the near future.
