I am still avoiding pulling any of my Space hulk minis off of their sprue until i absolutely decide that it is time to paint them, but every time I see one of the Genestealers or termies painted I go and look at the box on my shelf thats still in the plastic wrapper. Wait, im headed on a tangent, great genestealers.

I still have the termis on sprue actually. I got 2 sets of SH.

So I did the Broodlord up. Im happy with the model itself, but disapointed with the blood on the base. So Im going to strip just the bottom (or try to anyways) and try again.


I REALLY like the way the helmet in his hand came out, gunna do more like this.


Really hard to focus on it with my camera though so thats the best I can do.

Also got some bad ass mugs from beezley1981, and, as not be be outdone by Mr. Gitsplitta, I got 2. One is Deathwing and the other Death Company. I'd totally get more if I had the $$$

@ Wolf -I liked the base a lot more before I dumped my blood effect all over it. It doesnt match anything in any of my other bases. Thought it would make it stand out, which worked, to much.

I did redo the Broodlord's base and got several Stealers done, but cant find my charger for the camera I just got. Seriously, I havent even charged it twice! grrrr.......

They're actually bone colored, my photo skills are meh.

Ok, so now that I have my camera charger again (found it the same day the new one showed up. EFF ME!) I have mass updates.

Also rebaised some of my Dark Angels, thought I'd give a few quick shots. I'll take better pics when they get a better touch up. I kinda hate that I have become a better painter, makes it hard to progress to new things instead of touching up old ones.





And finally on show and tell night, is a project from Mr. Blackhand. He was originally going to do a GS sword, but had the EC once handy, so yeah. He then painted it up, because the "pro paint job" I commissioned blew chunks (Same guy lost the original sword). I'm going to add some more colors to it, not sure on washing it (like all other gold things I've done) because the gold is quite nice.

Glad to see he went back together ok, and don't be afraid to wash the gold, he's already had one!

the paint went Lyandan Darksun - Shining Gold - Devlan Mud was - Mithril Silver drybrush - Shinging gold touch ups and highlights to tone down the mithril.

So yeah he could probably do with another wash to bring in some contrast...speaking of contrast I had no idea what to do with the lion pelt but I think he needs something too

Very nice stuff WM, you *are* becomming a better painter! Wonders never cease! :-) Your stealers look great by-the-way... have to show them to Thing 2.

The pelt has black spots in most of the pics out there, I will give that a try. Gold is a super hard color to do for large areas, yours is very good. What's your skin formula btw? I suck at it and yours looks great.

I hate to say that my skin is even simper than the gold

I have an ancient bottle of bronzed flesh, like literally the old version of the GW paints which I use the process is

white base coat - bronzed flesh - devlan mud wash - bronzed flesh highlight - maybe a 1:1 mix of white and bronzed flesh to highlight again, maybe.

Glad you like the gold and yeah some spots would help bring the pelt out from the armour and wings. He will definitely benefit from some blood drops and such as he has a limited gold/silver/white pallette at the moment

I have to say sir that your nids look way better than mine did No shock there. Glad to see that the little bugs are 2-0!

Thanks tony. They have been getting nearly all my p&m time of late, and are a fun change in play style. I have 2 boxes of hormagaunts, 3 tyrant guard, some zoeys, a cfex, a doom conversion, some rippers, and a trygon to do yet, as well as something bigger...

Does it start with H and end with ierophant bio titan? Cause that would rule quite a bit.

Hiero is still a bit out of the budget, and wont be coming to the party yet. Barb will be though, and she may have a brother Mal show up as well.

Dunno... what color is tau blood? I'd suggest grey splattered with tau blood color. Call it tau camouflage...

Lol, that's a bit harsh. I have 3 FW suits and a GW Broadside, as well as 2 stealth suits and an ethereal that have been laying around. I tried to trade em, but didnt get any good offers, so I'm keepin em.

Mostly rebased space marines to share tonight, but I'll start with something that has been awhile coming. My finally finished Hive Tyrant, complete with bone sword!

And the first of his personal body guard. Woulda got this done sooner (and a lot more), but the paint got magically messed up (pretty sure my brother dropped him on the floor, but doesnt want me to get mad).

And here's said rebased marines. You've seen them before I'm pretty sure. Got the flying stuff done, but as they are not attached and were down stairs, no photos. I will eventually bring them up to current standards, but for now, they'll do.





Question if there are any Tau players reading this. I have 4 battlesuits and a Broadside. What is the best equipment for suits? I may just pose them to look cool. Stay tuned, I will some day get to them.

From what I remember of my 40k guru telling me about how to set my tau suits up,

Keep them simple, don't put 3 types of weapons stick to one or two.

Missiles and plasmas seem to be a popular choice, but I have seen my friend use a suit with T/L flamers to amazing effect and all for around 50-60 points!

It doesn't matter what weapons you choose, the cool part is where you mount them , underslung on the forearm, shouldemounted or even give them grips for them to hold like real rifles and pisols, There really is heaps of options.
