Got a bit of painting done over the Thanksgiving weekend. 1st is an Vanguard Vet original. Lots of BA parts, and several maxmini parts all over the place.




2nd is a first class foul up. Got a Thunderfire cannon from Vindicator#9. Painted it up all Blood Angel like and everything. Then wanted to see how many points it was, and guess what...... I CANT USE IT! DOH!! Anyways, I'll eventually repaint it to Soul Drinkers or some other random chapter (that can use it).

Never promised my updates would be quick, but I do finally have some. So got two Blood Angel Dreadnoughts finished.
1st is a converted AoBR Dread.

2nd is a Ironclad with Blood Talons for Paulson Games.



Also started on a Hive Tyrant. Dont have the arms finished, mostly because I'm missing the bone sword. The one that came with it is clipped for some reason, so I need a new one. If anyone can help, lemme know.
Going for the bone look with black carapace. I realized I have never got Nids on purpose but have 750 points worth, the Tyrant and all of the SH stealers and BL.




Also got a new Camera for Xmas, so expect more regular updates. Got myself a Battlefoam PACK 720 in black as well, number 245/500. Looking forward to showing it off.

Those are lookin' great WM! Didn't know you had Nids... I look forward to getting to the bigger critters myself.

Nice job on the AoBR dread conversion. Those blood claws are pretty spectacular too.

The Tyrant is the first Nid I've ever painted. Ive got 22 Genestealers and a Broodlord to do yet. I needed a break for Space Marines, and had him laying around, so there he is. I'm thinking of picking up the paulson swords, as I do have the actual arm, just the sword got cut off. Better do it before the aftermarket Apocalypse hits them too.

I'm also going to start re-basing my Dark Angels to fall in line with my game table and other armies. Lots of non-vehicle pics should be coming soon. Hopefully with some updates, I can get more then one person reading

Glad to know, felt like Git was the only one home. I know I'm not the best painter out there, but I hope someone other then me likes it.

Anyways, I got a bit more work done on both Gits MW models (RT legs = devil) and Arakasi's Dread, but not enough to really show off.

I did finish up a Deathwing Sgt, which has been stuck in WIP land for a long time. He is the 1st DA to get the new basing scheme, as well as the 1st to get the colored power weapon. I decided to go with green as its the same color as the plasma that my DA use. Will be doing the same thing for all the other DA and BA, eventually. The servo skull had broken off, so I drilled a small hole in some plastic rod to make a pipe and then sleeved it together. Now it moves and stuff, but looks ok.



Also got some random terrain/objective marker thingy done. I kinda accidentally discovered something cool. I cut the top off one of the barrels and put some stuff in it. I poured a good bit of plastic glue in there to give the toxic waste a starting spot and to hold the plastic chunks in place. When I came back after it dried, it had sucked the barrel in on it self, giving it a dented and beat up look. Not sure what this is useful for, but I'm going to have to try it again on something later.

Actually WM, that's pretty darn good painting on both items. Like the power sword.

I know what you mean about sometimes wondering if anyone is out there. Don't usually have problems on my MW blog, but the response to my recent Nid and Cron posts has been slim. Granted, they aren't painted to the same standard as my marines by any stretch... but it does make you wonder if they aren't worth commenting on.

As long as you're happy with them, that's all that counts! Besides, your painting is clearly improving.

Yeah, I kinda noticed that one the Crons and Nids. I think its because most people have done a marine at one point or another, where as not so much with other xenos races. Once I get used to doing other armies I am more likely to comment on them.

I also get bored of painting Space Marines; so I would collect models to just paint them for those days I was on 24 hour duty back in the states. On another note, it is great to see some updates and I really do like that Ironclad.

Nice work on the DeathWing sgt. And interesting effect on the barrel. I'm intrigued to see what uses you can come up with for that effect.

I LOVElovelovelove that tyrant. The carapace would be really great if it was Painted dark flesh. Trust me! I did my trygon prime just like yours, except with a dark flesh carapace. It was amazing (the highlight is dark flesh with a bit of BB added, while I did the feathering with blood red (thinned down pinch).

That's pretty cool with the barrel, think I'll be messing about in a similar vein to see what occurs, thanks for sharing that.

Like the colour scheme for the 'nids, looks nice and not one that's gonna bring on burnout quickly.

Think the time of year is affecting comments as well as updates. The really popular threads seem to be relatively active but not much going on in the others, I can browse the gallery for a good while come back to the P&M forums and find there's only been 3 new replies in total. (But new camera and more updates is never going to hurt )

Feeling re-energized by both the new camera and new army (well, they've been hanging around for awhile, but w/e), I got even more done today. Finished 3/4 of the HT weapons, still missing the Bone Sword.

And got the first Genestealer finished. I have 2 more started, but still a ways off.



@ Samus - Thought about that scheme, but a player are the store I go to most has some in the "Zerg" scheme, so I didn't want to be the same. Plus its kind of a tribute to Tony_Nids_10, who had to step away from 40k due to personal reasons, who had a very similar scheme.

@ Wolf and monkey - Not sure what the effect is really good for, but was kind of interesting none the less. Maybe basing or terrain? Or nurgle

His highlights are more pronounced (mine have some, but its very dark gray, hard to see in pics) and I went with green eyes and tongue. Same basic style though.

I dont get credit for the pose, its one of the Space hulk Stealers. I just modified it to fit on a 25 and added some sand.

Ah, I gotcha That's pretty nice of you! I can tell he drybrushed the carapace too. It looks like adeptus battlegrey. A very nice model regardless. I hope he comes back soon!

To be completely honest I have no clue as to when GW is releasing new stuff because my WD subscription has yet to reach me in scenic middle of nowhere, where I am currently deployed, and I will admit that trying to get anything from FW other than their catalog is like pulling teeth.

But on that note GW is supposed to release a plastic Furioso with blood talons?
