So I finally got a new camera, a lightbox, and figured out how to use them. Figured it was time to do some major thread self necromancy. I'll make a new plog, if anyone thinks it would be a better idea. Most of the original readers on here are long gone from dakka, so maybe I should? At the least, I'll update the first post.
Anyways, so pics! I'll do some comparisons of some of the repaints I've done from our last episode to start, before we get into new territory.
1st we have Mr. Assault Cannon Terminator. You may remember him from:
First though, a story. Well, during the last league at my
FLGS, in the final game (this is before new
DA dex,
btw). I was playing Grey Knights with a pure Deathwing army for first place over all. Got exactly the mission and deployment I didn't want, things were going poorly. Turn 3 his Storm Raven came in, he picked off one terminator with the multimelta, but the plasma cannons wiffed, so caught a break. I have no skyfire, and little that can really even hurt it , so just ignore it. For the most part anyway. This Terminator here was the last of his squad, and kind of hiding out behind a building so the vindicare didn't take him out for the kill point, but had a shot at the Raven. Roll to hit, 3 6's. Roll to Pen, another 6! Cool, I got the pen (rending adds enough to do so). Damage table, another 6. Boom, shot down! Game ends up being a tie, we have to play again next week (we need a first place for next league).
Next game. Better deployment, better mission (for me). I have the advantage, but same terminator is running by himself, again. He is chilling out with my single, 5 man
tac squad on an objective, trying not to die (was escalation, needed them for week one and got stuck for the rest). Turn 5, the same Raven comes over to try to knock me off of it, securing a possible second draw.
Tac squad looses 3 to the plasma cannon, termi shrugs off the
MM hit. Objective is giving them Skyfire this time. Terminator opens up, 2 hits. Roll to pen, another 6, another pen. Damage table, 6, wrecked again.
Now, with all that finally said, I decided he deserved a repaint a rebase, so he got one. Added some purity seals as well, because he earned them damn it!
Not actually a Storm Raven bit, it was the closest I had that was useable for basing. It is the front of a miscast, and replaced, Storm Eagle. Painted in my opponent's colors, obviously.
Second repaint for this return post is a Power Sword Terminator Sgt. He didn't do anything cool, but he is a decent kitbash, so why not.
