i would wash your marine's faces then pick out the highlights with a slightly lighter flesh color.

Faces are one of the "go back and bring up to par later" things. Its on the list, but behind a bunch of other crap that I'm better at. Just got my 2 new Storm Ravens, 2 Furioso Dreads, Trygon, and some other stuff today, I'm excited!

Havent decided yet, as I havent opened the box yet. I suspect normal like, the only thing I dont like is the roof scoop, which I can live with.

I opened up my box with my stormraven and my buddy got all pissed off that his Orks do not have themselves a flyer.

Maybe the "summer of flyers" will fix that. I'm hoping for a thunderbolt for imperial and some harpy love for Nids. Not that I'd be upset if it was a Thunderhawks and Haradins

Doubt that because I will be the one purchasing him said flyer, because I doubt his ball and chain will let him.

Then again he still does not understand the difference between a power weapon and a power fist so I do not wnat to explain flyers to him

Got Senor Zoey numero uno finished tonight. I am a bit disappoint that they all look the same, so, after some more pressing projects are finished (like Gits MWs), I'm going to try some stuff on some used and abused Zoeys I got for cheap.



Also got 3 more Stealers done sans basing, so expect at least those pics sometime soon.

Maybe you could add to their skin to make it seem like the psychic energies make them somewhat bioluminescent(sp?), that way you could make subtle patterns to make the skin differ on each one.

the fish thing has a cool spinal column glow to it.

My current plans for different looking Zoeys is to hack the Carapace over the head off and replace it with the head armor from the trygon kit. There's 3 choices in there, before modifications, so if it works, lots of choice. Two are also missing arms and the bottom fin things, so I'll be trying some stuff there.

Naaah, I want a light bulb in there so it GLOWS!!

This looks easy enough, the effect is along the spinal column and the brain matter. The model is approximately 3 inches tall so a pinpoint of light about every quarter on an inch, more or less to as you see fit, then add some OSL. Besides you will never know if you can do it until you try.

EDIT: sorry about the other picture thing, It is hard for me to post many pictures due to the fact I am using my computer at work.

Thought about trying that with a lictor or tau stealth suits, only all clear.




And no light bulb.


NP on the pic thing, I'm also at work, but have nothing better to do, and no fire walls/monitoring software (I am the IT guy that tracks stuff )

Think your up to it Cast-Master? Pretty sure a lictor (or any 2 piece) is beyond my casting prowess.

I think you should save this kind of design for the Doom of Malantai

I ordered some of that instant mold stuff, so if it holds up to resin I may give the lictor a whirl.

Hey WM, what kind of resin do you use? I have the instant mold stuff and it appears to work OK with green stuff, not great though as the GS is so stiff. Think it would work great with a more malleable substrate.

I read a review of the stuff and he kind of panned it because the GS couldn't pick up all the detail, but I couldn't understand why he was using GS in the first place. Resin should definitely pick up all the detail that the instant mold has, being a liquid as opposed to a solid, let me know if it works out as I was thinking about buying some

I use Smooth-on resin, though would get some clear stuff for this. The only problem with the resin that I can see is that instant mold is a heat reactive product, and resin gets pretty hot. Will post results.

Ooh, good point, how hot do you have to heat the instant mold before it is malleable? does it go liquid?
