I dare say that GW wanted to Hype the next big thing that is Dreadfleet.

Oz GD is this w/e and is the first one in 8 or so years. I dare say that an announcement would be made there as WD is also released that day and the ad for Necrons in Nov would be in WD.

I was hoping for a cryptic (or cryptek) teaser at the back of Oct's White Dwarf, but apparently there's nothing.
I rang subscriptions today to see where my copy is and was told they were posted last Friday, sounds like BS to me.
I also rang my local store to see whether they had it in, but apparently it will be turning up in stores on the 1st Oct.

Still, we know they are coming as the website is almost devoid of Necrons you can order and the codex has been missing since I started this thread. I'm half tempted to try ring up and ask sales where they have have gone in an attempt to get an answer but am pretty sure I will be mugged off...

The only thing I can think of for this is to hype a new release without having to say anything about it as per their new marketing strategy of not announcing anything until 2 weeks prior to release. Pulling 90% of the Necron product from their webpage is a good way to obviously point to whats coming very soon and people will probably be saving up for the eventual pre-order. I mean its been several weeks since everything was removed and still longer until the rumoured release month.

I wouldn't read into missing items too much. They may be 'repackaged'. Sisters' boxes went missing for months and then were singles only with direct order only possible. The same with the codex. You might get a pdf or a WD codex isntead. At least you had plastics.

You and I both know contracts like that mean dick... technically when they go home and tell their spouses about these things, they're breaching said agreements. Plus, some retards already proved that these agreements mean little. Look at the threads concerning Grey Knights rumors and all those pictures everyone said were fake or couldnt possibly be legit... WHAMMO!!! holy hell a high toughness, high strength biped with a GK strapped into it... Im just tired of listening to robots when I could be assembling, painting, and using robots to stomp some living organisms...

I've signed more than one in my time and didn't break the information because I didn't want to lose the privilege. Also please don't use the word "slow" like that.

Managed to have a flick through the new White dwarf. Sadly no hint of necrons, it's pretty much Dreadfleet magazine with sone SoB battle missions. Nothing but dreadfleet on back pages.

Okay so lemme get this straight; the october white dwarf has no mention of new necrons because they're advertising a game that they can "no longer guarantee" we'll get and that has been talked about non-stop since they released the first teaser for it...

Weeell, Independent partners and Premium Stores has not been able to order in new copies of codex: Necrons for the last three months so.. the usual thing is 3-4 months before a new codex pops up. So I'd bet my lunch sandwich on this or the end of next month.
In the end it's all about profit. GW does not withdraw core products unless they are replacing them soon.
... Somehow they have not understood (STILL!) how much money a Great Crusade/Horus Heresy product would give them, or else they would be churning out plastic Space Marine armour variant kits like there was no tomorrow. Because they -Like- money.. and who doesn't.

Forgeworld has recently started churning out a lot of the different Power Armor marks, the Contemptor Dreadnought, and the old school Land raider.

All Im doing is ranting and raving about something we already agree on, and since I dont make a habit of WUSSY footing through my words (thats for respects to Kurgash), I will ask this question to Red and Brother... How can I take seriously individuals who have avatars that represent the Devil and A man who is bulk of walking, swearing, murdering, fornicating, womanizing, man flesh that is a "perfect" role model as Duke would have it... These tactics generally only inflame a situation and lead to what are known as "Flame Wars." Whenever a flame war starts it usually ruins a perfectly good discussion. Others will lose interest in the thread and the site in general if this kind of interchange becomes a common occurrence.

Please remember that posting and reading online is a visual format and as such the spelling, grammar and look of your posts is the only way others understand what you are saying. Therefore, in order to be polite, all users are expected to make an effort to use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation and should refrain from using internet shorthand or other distracting methods of writing, such as writing a post completely bolded, with capital letters, in a strange color, etc.

It also should go without saying that swearing, profanity, sexual references, etc, are strictly forbidden, including all images that are posted on or uploaded to our site. Remember that we have users of all ages and that Dakka should be a welcoming place for everyone to enjoy.
