Eh, really? As a Dark Eldar player I hate facing Necrons, I find them very hard to kill, and the C'tan I fought last time was death on a stick for me. :(

You do realise that everything in your army is poisoned??

I've had Nightbringer shot down by one venom before.

Lolwut.
C'tans are cake to kill with shooting, engaging a unit of Warriors in combat = death, and the only really dangerous threat is Monoliths which you can kill with Haywires and spammed Destroyers that really cut back on the amount of Necrons in the army.

Frankly they, above all other necrons, needed a redo.

Can anyone say "Fine Cast"?

Finecast Fugly ;0)

At least a Finecast Spyder would stay up on it's base...

Rumor has it that wraiths are getting options, so proabably a redo, ditto spyders.

Flayed ones really ought to be plastic, but i'm wishlisting there..

One can only hope the Necrons get plastic Immortals. Those are just painfully expensive.

Never said it was a good thing.

However it is a great chance to make them a wee bit more expensive for players to buy. I'm quite the fan of paying $140 for a squad of 10 Immortals.

God, I can't wait. I hope they don't ruin them. October seems an appropriate date.

I really hope they don't change the fluff so that the C'tan are enslaved. Sure take them out of the codex, but leave them as the Star Gods.

Consider the author of the new codex...
Now, not only are the C'Tan enslaved, they believe in Rowboat Girlyman as their SPIRITUAL LIEGE.

Either our rules will be so amazing and no one will be able to understand despite having a 5th grade reading level OR it will go the way of Tyranids where it will be pretty good at first then some writer will get upset and proceed to write an FAQ utterly crippling a major aspect of the army. Honestly, I'd rather hope for option A, because I have a 6th grade reading level.

Yeah, so all you'll get is RT-era levels of fluff (entirely over the top) and a good codex with lots of options that are competitive without being OTT

Oh wait, those are generally good things. Sorry, bringing sense to a Ward bashing thread, I shoud know better.

Now, if it was Cruddace youd get entirely overpowered and bland, or interesting but meh to play. WIth Kelly you either get wonderfully balanced (DE) or hideously internally and externally imbalanced (SW)

I am sorry yo tell you, your doing it wrong.

Ctan god should die on the first turn of shooting so will most of his destroyers, if his clever he should reserved his warriors.

For the monolith I would avoid it because it can't kill enough to damage your army.

Second round of shooting you should have blown up more necrons and aim for phase out in turn 3.

-----------------------------------------------

On to necrons, I have a box of them ready to be built when the codex come out can't wait.

If Ward is the author I'd like to know how he's going to handle the Fall of Damnos, an Ultramarine defeat at the hands of mecha-zombies.

Well the guy completely ignored the blood angels novels (thank the powers that be) and i am actually quite partial to the fluff he wrote for the codex, even the necron truce stuff was a fun read.

So maybe he could do the necrons a favour and ignore their bad book appearances too.

(Please note that i have read the blood angels books, but have not read the Ultramarines/fall of damnos and am making the assumption that it is terrible)

What happened to gw's you'll never find anything out about new releases because we're gonna be really clever?

Now they're removing codices months before a new one comes out...

Well, that went well didn't it gw.

They're not really all that clever?

Remember, to GW, being 'really clever' (as you put it) means 'stopping the Internet'. The sad part is that GW really thinks they have this capability, as if the Internet is something that is small and easily contained.

It was actually a pretty good book. A slight bit of obvious plot armor but overall still a great book nonetheless.

Slight nothing

Its a great book until the boys in blue arrive, then an ok book for the rest of it. It has a fair bit of WTF??? near the end.

Still a good read, but the Bias is pretty bleeding obvious, especially since it is supposed to be a Necron victory (and a near total one) with the Marines making hurried evacs and running for deep deep space...
