I realize full well, and that does not scare me... I did nothing wrong by my original post of wanting to know about the release of the Necrons...
When someone gets on here, and I have yet to offend anyone, and takes a stab at me... Im not the flight type... so again I will be the better man and apologize to those I have offended, but I will not be frightened by someone wishing to throw their weight around... its unprofessional, tasteless, unsound, and shows a lack of respect...
On the flip side... I stand by thoughts on an October release, it makes too much sense, then again so dont alot of things... Im just curious if the rumors are true about multiple colors for the rods to be put in the guns (red, orange, blue, and green I think I recall the last rumor)

I'd also like to point out that users are responsible for abiding by the moderation. Any instance of moderation is a rule that the specific user or users being moderated should follow, whether or not (in their view) it appears on the Rules page quoted by reds8n above. One generalized rule about being polite, for example, cannot cover in specificity all the ways to be rude that people on the internet can dream up. Of course, we cannot make you follow the rules. We can only make you follow them while posting on this website. So if you don't want to abide by the moderation because you don't think there's a rule against what you're doing, or for any other reason, that's fine as long as you also no longer post on this website.

See now that deserves a hand clap... Well said Sir.
I humbly apologize for my ranting and raving as I felt it to be a simple gesture about something we were talking about at the time (See Necrons Release).
As I have no problem getting along with people, on forums or not, this simple remark has helped me understand things from all you're perspectives.
Now see where Im coming from... I feel insulted that someone had to resort to a snide or sly remark (Brother SRM) to help enlighten me to their perspective. I would hope that this person gets the same email I did regarding online etiquette. And if not, oh well... Im not going to cry over spilt milk...

Like mentioning Necrons at GDUK? RIGHT??? Let me set the record straight: I'm right there with you, living in a world where GW will release Necrons in October. But, sadly, GW has proven to me that this is a fantasy world.
The multiple-color-rods idea would be so, so, so good. That may be the best rumor I've ever heard. Rob, you're giving me hope in he bleak post-GDUK landscape. But who's to say GW won't snatch it away or, more likely, simply act like there's nothing to hope for at all anyway under any circumstances ever don't even think it much less post it we must never know about what they plan to sell us etc, etc, etc.
Was it Ouze who said this would be an emotional rollercoster?

I hear ya... Im sitting on pins and needles right now... even if I dont play em, the codex's are just too well done sometimes to not enjoy reading them... for example the space marine codex's... yes they are rediculously crammed with stories that are unrealistic to the fluff sometimes, but from an imperialists perspective, you need a sort of compass to keep you on the straight and narrow... just like the necrons being victims of their own cause... plus it will be menacing for story telling Im sure... Automatically Appended Next Post: Manchu wrote:WarlordRob117 wrote: I stand by thoughts on an October release, it makes too much sense, then again so dont alot of things...

Bwahaha hadnt heard that quote yet but its damn funny...
Multi color rods would help restore that faith Im sure, but Im right there with you... Ultimately yes we are GW's play things, dancing around like marionettes and what not, but at the end of the day, Im in this for fun. My career field has put me in a postion where I have to be more serious about things than I'd like to be, and this fantasy world where my first prediction about their resurrection is on point would be awesome. My message to their marketing department, and I hope they read this... You'll sell alot more if you have people along for the ride. Look at gaming companies. The release bits at a time to consumers, that creates a sort of following with people really preordering and what not, plus it gives people something to aim for... realistically will this happen, Im with you chu, absolutely not... but hey, FANTASY!!!! woot!
However, plastic customizable 'Cron lord? yes please lol

It have intimated on occasions (GW UK, various rumor posts) this is a trial marketing strategy that will be dismissed if there is enough negative feedback. They have a product they want to sell and dont want to hurt its sales. There is also the inklings this is an appeasement to stock holders and New Line in regards to the Hobbit IP.
Again we know what others would do in this case, this is what they are doing now. No real sense in getting that worked up over it. The Necrons will sell going forward if they are released in November, however Dreadfleet might very well be hurt by cannibalized sales from other product lines. This isn't that unreasonable a business decision.

They can keep The Hobbit game as a big a secret as they like
I don't see why they would need to appease New Line. IIRC, they did an excellent job of not spoiling anything in the LoTR films e.g. no Balrog miniature shown until it had been seen on the big screen.

I dont know man, just feels illogical... thats something I was told by my business management profs... if it feels wrong, dont do it... Look at space marine by relic... they have been marketing this product like crazy, and its damn near surpassing most other titles in its genre, dare I say halo and GOW 3, because they got the product marketed early... IMHO, they'll sell more 'Crons with a well placed viral add, at least a couple weeks out like they did with GKs...
(steps back reads that again with glasses on) they're releasing a Hobbit game?!?!?!

We're drifting off topic here, but yes GW retained the licence to release LoTR stuff, so most are assuming there will be a Hobbit release next year.
As to whether LoTR is fun. It's not a bad game and certainly has a pool of dedicated fans. A lot of people consider it an unneccesary distraction when GW could be doing other things (like Necrons). I had heard though that much of the sculpting is done by the Perry twins on a semi-freelance basis and GW just releases LoTR stuff as and when the Perrys finish a project.

Well, I personally believe that GW will have us wait for another decade, just until they finish releasing every chapter of SM in existence + accessories.
But yeah, October will be awesome.

On topic they redid DE finally this year, as well as GK and have done a stop gap list for what was seen as the core of witch hunters, so it does look good for them to get a proper release very soon. Worst part is I'll be tempted by them when I know eldar is on the horizon finally with new models!

Orks & Goblins, Grey Knights, and Tomb Kings all came out over the course of three months earlier this year. The sudden TK release was the biggest surprise GW has given me in years (pleasant surprise, that is).

Ive heard rumors of only a 2 week window now. Which Dreadfleets release would fit into. Im guessing WD now no longer hints at releases for next month.
When I was a red shirt many years ago I had my manager tell me that the kids always wanted what was coming up. If you didnt know what was coming you would spend your money on what was the latest thing and not save up for the next big thing.
My guess is; that mantra has now gone global...

To Kroot Hawk: How does everyone know the release for October? Even if they were to announce the new mid October, they could have them out by Halloween. Dread Fleet was announced Almost 2 weeks ago, and we are now one day away from its launch... it is not outside the realm of GW's capacity. Though I hope its not laziness, as I would not mind working for a company like GW one day just for spits and giggles.

To Aeon: Like a kid with a magnifying glass to ants my friend... thats what I feel like with their marketing scheme... it just feels like bad form to me... especially since everyone kid I know between the ages of 8-14, when I show them all the codexs I own, the one they gravitate most towards, Necrons. Something is cool to the young male psyche, and since most kids dont do chores anymore for their allowance, i suppose its ok to assume that sudden blast of "Hey Necrons are here guys" might be appropriate... I do believe there are still more consumers out there that like the idea more of knowing what they want to spend their money on then being the average American and going "hey I'll buy these necrons battleforces cause they're on sale", and people laughing at them knowing full well the sons of C'Tan will rise again soon. Just feels like bad form to me...

Because the October WD is out and if they were an October release they would be in the October WD.......
I think your seriously overestimating the benefits of a halloween tie in (or more to the point that such a tie in would somehow require or massively benefit from an actual halloween day release) I mean based on scuttlebutt they are slotted for Nov that would mean Nov WD released 2 days before halloween and the initial model/codex release 5 days later its all still halloween week without messing with the standard way they do releases.

Though a Halloween release would be awesome (Samhain is my favorite holiday by far), I'm thinking that November is out next change for the unholy robots to awaken.
A Halloween flavored Necron force would be fun though, with orange crystals and flaming pumpkin heads on the lords.
Hmm.. might be a fun conversion for my hundreds if Necron bits laying around.
