Using this guide I went 0/4/5 52 4 first game with mumu. OMFG you really get to put people where you want them and initiate like mad with him!

Totally different from Sivir, but very very fun. Dying 4 times sucks, but oh well. Having the Emumu skin is awesome because any time you mess up you can /all Emo mummy is sad. :(

HEIMERTANK!!!!!!!!!

Probably not the best way to use him, but 3500 health Heimer is hilarious to play. Just run in circles around your turrets tossing grenade after grenade. Really fun, plus he has an ALIEN OVERLORD skin.

I play AP Heimer, my AP maxes at around 500 by the time the game is done, grenades and rockets deal 650 and 550 while the turrets are doing about 170 a shot. Tank heimers kind of a confusing concept to me.

Well considering that unless you're playing in custom, you're automatically playing against people in your ELO bracket, (read: level) if you're new you'll most likely be playing against other new players.

Prepare to be surprised once you hit 30, the curve actually goes down again.
Level != Skill.

I think the matching goes by the average of the team. Because like I mentioned before I started with lvl30 friends in premade. I think the lowest level opponent I got was 15ish.

Premade with people not in your bracket changes the matchup though, if you're playing solo play or with people close to our own level it evens out. Generally though a newb will be comparatively safe up to say level 5, and by then they should be a bit more comfortable with the system and ready to start getting 'serious'.

The leveling system pretty much just relates to how long you have played the game. Either they learn as they go or give up. They're going to be surprised when they reach level 30 only to find that there are probably more bad players than the levels below it. While it does indicate some experience with the game, I've seen enough level 30s do stupid stuff I hadn't seen since level 12 to know that it is mostly a reflection of time spent.

The practice modes are a joke really. The bots are dumb and come with two levels of difficulty New Player (concussed) and Easy (5 year old with shiney stuff nearby). The tutorial itself treats you like you are a complete idiot to the point where you don't really learn anything at all. However the new tutorial they added in called Battle Training is actually pretty decent. The point I'm making is that there are bad players and now a decent amount of ways for them to improve.

It's a team game and if you get a really bad player your team will go into the situation you described. There is no helping that, as it is the same for likely every team based game in existence.

Please don't take the text out of context. To clarify, it seems that the screaming, crying, and general immaturity decreases a bit as you pass level 15. If you don't have at least SOME kind of skill, you won't rank up very quickly, plus just the act of leveling gives you experiences with hero's (increasing your skill) and reduces noobishness.

There is ALWAYS a learning curve to games, PVP games especially. Learn from your mistakes, and be cautious. Every game I die alot, its due purely to my own greed or inattention. Game is damn near 100% skill.

An important thing to remember is that its a team game. If you don't play as a unit, move together, fight together, try not to die together (LOL!!!) then you'll fair much better. If you don't, the fedYi will just run around eating your whole team with his lolcrit/movespeed build. TONS of folks do that just to try and force a surrender @ 25.

P.S. Popping Fiddles ulty to port through a wall, then hitting ghost and running around is the best way to make folks gak themselves and run around slowed. Then /all BOO!!! for ultimate win points. To truly screw with them, run towards a wall and flash through it when running away.

Sion is up now...again. Got the Hextech skin (yes, this is digital crack) and accidently started a match with my Fiddle runes/mastery. HOLY CRAP!!!!! Sion with stuns that hit for 500, 4k+ health, magic resistance, magic pen, jesus its crazy.

Xin with stacked lifesteal still ate my face, but it was totally easy to lane against Rhyz and Mumu for the first 20 minutes. <shrug> Will test more, seems to have serious potential.

Rod of Ages
Mercury Treads
Banshee's Veil
Rylia's Scepter

2 optional slots.....if the game isn't over by the time you have Rylia's a Zhyona's Ring would be nuts.

Skilling: Points in sheild when possible, stun when not. Ulty every time available and save CRAP enrage for late game when you actually have the health to tower dive.

Also if you're on a roll with a stealth character like Twitch or Eve somehow (I managed once or twice). It's fun to just hang around with them while stealthed then occasionally do your taunt or laugh. I remember one 5s game I walked around with the enemy team most of the time after the laning phase ended. Basically a free moving ward to let everyone know where they are at all times. The stun also helped with ganks.

Peter - Drop rylai's crystal scepter, it is bad for sion. I know, it gives you health and AP, but the slow effect is only going to apply to his shield explosion, and it wont make much of a difference. Pickup alot more cooldown reduction, like deathfire grasp, it is perfect on him. Not only does it give him good ap and cd reduction, but it also gives him a baller nuke to open up with. You should be able to get him stun down around 2 seconds if you stack CD reduction runes (increasing per level), cd reduction gear, and get golem buff. Now, if you get his stun down between 2 and 3 seconds...that means you opponent has all of 0-1 seconds to kill you between stun nukes, and you will likely have a 800point shield up all the time. o_0

Yeah, I'm doing Banshee, Merc Treads, then Deathfire right now to see how the build works. Might go Deathfire first. I dunno

Start on Deathfire work til the 25 ap/10gp5 blade, then build Banshee's. Boots then...finially finish the Deathfire. Last few matches have been short, so haven't even gotten to max level.

Without the enervating locket I'm blarging on what to build for blitzcrank. He's so ability intensive, I'm sticking to manamune then boots right now but in his build there are very few ways to recover hp now.

Yeah, Sion runs out of mana pretty quick too. Not sure whether to prioritize Banshee's or the second tier book thing for Deathfire.

Runed for Magic Pen, HP/lvl, and flat CD reduction.

Fun part is that he plays like a nuker early-mid game, but has the surviability of a melee hero. Sadly, the build doesn't synergize with Enrage or Cannibalism very well...however they are such no brainer abilites that its boring as piss to build around them. You retain mobility like this, are a great mid game ganker, and have a stun/AOE (or damage sponge) for use in endgame teamfights.

Seems to be fairly good for solo play. Kinda get wrecked endgame by physical DPS though. As do most folks.

There is also something wrong with the rune recycler. It says I have nothing to use, but there are like 10k IP worth of runes in my bag.

Peter - You should NEVER use flat CD reduction runes. By the time you have multiple abilities to be spamming (thus needing the CD reduction more) the scaling CD reduction runes will have surpassed the flat cd reduction runes. By level 18, the scaling runes will have nearly doubled the flat runes. Late game is when CD reduction really becomes important anyway. I wouldnt build the banshee veil first, get some offense. Kage's dagger is an excellent early game item, as it will pay for itself later on. IMO, pickup the book with mana regen/AP/cd reduction, then boots, then kage's pick, then rod of ages, then finish boots, then zonya's. after zonya's finish the deathsfire grasp and then top it off with whatever the heck you want, prolly banshee's

The skills for the new champ seem to have been leaked.

At the moment, as they have a chance of changing, they are.

Passive: All-Points Bulletin: Whenever an allied champion is slain, Caitlyn gains vision of the killer for a limited time.

Aimed Shot: Caitlyn channels her shot, increasing damage and range over time. If the shot hits, Caitlyn can fire a second shot shortly after, but if it misses, Caitlyn is revealed to the enemy.

Bulletproof: Caitlyn passively resists projectile damage, and can actively double the resistance for a short time. While on cooldown, Caitlyn's movement speed is increased.

Authority of Law: Caitlyn fears an enemy for a short time and is immune to that enemy's debuffs for a time afterwards. If Caitlyn takes damage from her target during that time, her damage and defenses are improved.

The Long Arm: Caitlyn channels for a period of time, then fires a high-speed bullet at a target, getting double the payoff if it kills.

Good point, I may invest in some CDr/lvl later. I've spent WAY too much on runes lately though. Great point about the late game importance of CDr. Honestly, Sion falls of badly at endgame, so his stun and damage soaking with the shield is really what preserves his viability.

Banshee's is a "must have" item for ANY build. Not only does it give you a great boost in both HP and MP (perfect for mid game, hence it being one of my first 2 core items) but being spell immune every 30 seconds is INSANE. WW can't jump you. Mal can't suppress you in place, Eve can't open up with a stun, the list goes on.

Did a grip of games with Shuma last night, and I've nailed down my build. Its designed for damage soaking, harassment, pushing, and above all....survivability.

Skilling: SHEILD LEVELS EVERY DAMN TIME ITS UP, then stun, then enrage, THEN your ultimate. This build does NOT focus at all on AD, but by the time you are level 18 you'll be more than capable of both tanking a tower, and diving a tower.

Spells: Flash/Teleport

1st purchase: Mana crystal and heal pot/mana pot
2nd purchase: Catalyst
3rd purchase: Build boots
4th purchase: Build Banshee's
5th+ purchase: Build Deathfire.

Thats all. Last 3 slots are situational. Guardian Angel doesn't seem to work real well with Sion, but Force of Nature can be interesting. Lichbane is also hilarious for endgame. You are a stunbot....this is good. PLINK, oh I just melee you for 400, plus I have a shield up and I am running away while my team comes to feed on your half dead ass.

Flash is great for both escaping, and flashing into a tower range (sheilded of course) to knock off a fast stun/explode combo to finish off a low health hero. Takes practice, but you can usually make it without dying to a tower. Also amazing in a teamfight for pinning down an opponent so your DPS can come eat his face. Teleport allows you to be where you need to be when you need to be. As a hero built to survive until your team comes to help you out, this is vital. Tried Ghost, but it was useless for Sion.

Usually I use the mana pot around level 2, the healing pot around level 4. By that point you have a large enough mana pool to spam shield when needed. Stun is a mana pig, so only use it to close a kill or pin someone in place for a team mate. Mostly, its about running around, being big, and soaking enormous amounts of damage. Once you build the Deathfire, you have enough mana and mp5 to really stick in a fight for a LONG time. Long enough for your whole team to show up.

I've also tried a build that uses Kage's Pick as a priority first purchase, but the lack of potions means you can't stay "in lane" as long.....which is bad.

I also use Banshee's on Fiddle and Sivir. Its nuts on Sivir...if you have good reflexes you are basically immune to abilities between it and Spellsheild. Fiddle is just made of sticks, so he desperately needs the health.

I tried Rod of Ages for about 6 games. It was cool, but just didn't seem to have the "punch" that this build does....which is odd considering RoA is AP heavy.

Played a few games with Wiggin, managed to break 1k ability power for the first time, and on Kog Maw to boot. Was dropping dozens of Living Artillery shots at a time into the enemy formation for about 1k per shot. Once that build gets up and running it really becomes overpowering in team fights, I was able to 2 shot their carries from a screenlength away behind cover.
